    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave/brag/achievement: I found out last night that I got my office to change our maternity leave policy for EVERYONE! Now everyone gets 12 weeks paid regardless of how long they have been there.  I was only going to get 8 weeks under the old policy and my pregnant work friend was only going to get 6.
Rockstar - that is amazing!!  Be the change!!  I'd expect a lot of hugs coming your way today from fellow co-workers for standing up for everyone!

31 - into the single digit week countdown. Eep!
Size of a large movie popcorn

    2. How are you feeling?
Had some crazy BH over the weekend. Didn’t love that. Low back is starting to act up. Mostly glad the heat wave is breaking. Back to mid 70s for a week!

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Massage yesterday :)

    4. Rants/raves/questions:smile:
Starting to get a little worries about the fact that our prep class doesnt start for another 2 weeks.
Excited to have DH back after a long weekend work trip thing without cell service!!

    5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
Probably waitress for 1-2 years less than I did. Good money, but you’re really just delaying starting in a new field. Those cash tips, though...
  • @rc-cola that is amazing! Congratulations!

@tropical1982 I’m pretty sure I have that rational about DH and travel all the time. If it’s somewhere fun, I want to go, too! Sorry you’ll have to reschedule so many things, though.  sounds like a hassle.
  • @rc-cola - thats such awesome news!  I love hearing stories like that, and it gives me hope that more companies will do that in the future!

@tropical1982 - sibling class?  i'm intrigued....my two year old is so not ready for the baby and i'm at a loss of how to prepare him!

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 29 weeks, and a wrecking ball (at least i'm assuming, based on the constant ramming motions)

    2. How are you feeling? Ok, some days i have more pelvic pain than others, but its manageable at this point.   We've determined i will be on unisom for the entire pregnancy due to nausea, but it is what it is and i feel fine as long as i take it.

    3. Any appointments this week? I just had one this morning - everything looks good!  BP is low, but that is normal for me both pregnant and not, so its not a concern at this point.  Baby is measuring right on track, and is head down for the time being which is nice (but having an end of pregnancy flipper last time, i don't think i'll ever feel totally in the safe zone)

    4. Rants/raves/questions? So i live in a small town in Michigan that is currently in a state of emergency due to toxic drinking water that i have consumed my entire pregnancy.  (as well as for my last pregnancy)  We're starting to think some of the issue we had with my son could be a result after a town hall where we realized everyone in this town has had FTT babies that can't gain weight.  They will be monitoring my BP and the babies size more closely for the rest of this pregnancy, but there are just 8 million unknowns right now.  We are being given bottled water from the state, but i don't trust anything at this point, and i feel like i have ruined my kids by drinking toxic sludge, and i am debating switching to wine for the rest of the pregnancy because its actually safer for baby at this point than the water is.  Sorry to be a downer, i am in a dark place this week.

    5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?  This is probably totally lame,  but i think i would try to put more in my 401k.  i did the bare minimum from the time i started working, but the more i think about it, if i just had saved like, 1% more i could probably retire 5 years earlier.  (i think right now i'm on track to retire at 80, lol.)

  • @jengibre_zorro I just saw that yesterday about the water! Apparently our state is just going to crap when it comes to drinking water... Hopefully everything ends up okay with this one.

@quiltandknit DH and I have had that conversation numerous times... Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. It's frustrating.
  • @jengibre_zorro Sorry to hear about the drinking water. I would be scared too. But I’m glad your doctor is monitoring you and baby closely.
  • @jengibre_zorro So sorry you are going through that! It's absolutely unacceptable you can't rely on something like water to be safe, and is an awful situation to have to go through right now. I hope everything ends up OK, it's so hard dealing with something that was totally out of your control.

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
29 weeks, eep! This is going by really fast. Baby is an acorn squash?

    2. How are you feeling?
So tired. If I can get through doing the bare minimum, I think that will be a success for me right now.

    3. Any appointments this week?
Regular ol' appointment this Friday and will probably get the TDAP then. Meeting with a different doctor since my OB is out this week, which is probably not a bad thing, but I do love my doctor.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
At my last appointment the nurse told me she prescribed iron supplements since my iron was low, but when I spoke to the doctor about it he said it wasn't that low and that I was borderline low, and didn't seem like I needed the supplements. Also, it was the same day as my 1-hour glucose test, and I had been eating grilled chicken and salad pretty much all week to prepare, which I feel like lowered my iron as well.

SO, I never ended up picking them up. Been focusing on iron-rich foods in my diet right now and it sounds dumb but I'm not having issues going to the bathroom so I don't want to start by introducing iron supplements. May bring it up at Friday's appointment, I just feel guilty every time the pharmacy calls.

    5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
I should have been more confident and advocated for myself more. When I was younger I was content being a doormat as long as it meant no one was upset with me. Looking back, I missed out on so many opportunities just so I wouldn't "rock the boat" or deal with a temporary difficult situation.

Our hospital system offers a Sibling class for 3-7 year olds.  Its 1.5 hours and seems pretty basic but I figured it wouldn't hurt for $10.Sibling -
This class is designed for children ages 3-7 yearsChildren learn to hold, change diapers, and wrap babies using dolls in the classroom.
I'm sorry to hear about your water situation.  How stressful!  Wine sounds good! lol

  • @jengibre_zorro - I am so sorry to hear about your water situation.  Of all the things you have to deal with, that should not be one of them.
  • @jengibre_zorro sorry to hear about the water!! I'm sure it's stressful but at least you know now! And can avoid it.

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    31- footballs!
    2. How are you feeling?
Exhausted! After doing anything I have to stop and take a breather, walking up the stairs, making dinner, getting in and out of a pool, it's really frustrating... I know I'm not going full 40 but idk how I'll get to even 38!!
    3. Any appointments this week?
Friday I have a regular appointment with another dr which I'm excited about.
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Rant: I'm going to class for work for the next 2 weeks. Normally I'd be so happy to get out of the house but it's in Boston and I just dont want to go that far right now, once I get there I'll be fine but I just dread packing and getting there lol and the second week will be all outside...
    5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
I think I'd learn to budget sooner... I regret having close to nothing saved up before getting pregnant and now I'm starting to stress about how we'll get by when the babies come. I'm so glad we have my parents letting us live here but I wish we were in our own place..
  • @mamabearcj are you for sure going? have you talked to the dr about it yet?
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    31 weeks, asparagus

    2. How are you feeling?
I Came down with a cold over my 2 day Work trip. Sore throat stage. I can see what’s in store from hearing my husband coughing up a storm.

    3. Any appointments this week?
    None this week

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Was gone 2 days on a work trip and the dirty pan on the stove is still sitting there. Thanks husband.

i like what someone else said about more assertiveness and confidence rather than always trying to keep everyone else happy.

@sammierose464 I'll bring it up at my appointment but I'm pretty sure I'll be going, I'd rather get it over with than deal with the hassle of rescheduling for next year and being a year behind on a pay raise...

    @rabtaido1214 aren't husbands great
