Sciatic joint pain

Has anyone experienced this joint pain and if so what has been their relief. The pain becomes so bad that I can not walk just stand there and cry. Doctor says tylenol and chiropractor. I am a hesitant to go to chiropractor but I am 26 weeks and in such agony can't imagine doing 3 more months. Any suggestions?

Good morning OP! I see you are new here. Just a few recommendations: 1) update your screen name, all the generic knottiex123xyz's blur together. 2) Please make sure to read the pinned post entitled **Read First** this goes over board norms, guidelines, etc. 3) Please intro in the pinned thread entitled Introduce Yourself Here. 4) Join in on some of our current active threads so we all can get to know you and vice versa!

Just a heads up we try to discourage one-off threads such as this when many of us have dealt with the same and discussed at length on other threads :) but either way... Welcome!

As for your question, is there a reason you're hesitant to see the chiropractor? Honestly I think that would be your best bet because they can check to make sure everything is aligned correctly and adjust you accordingly if need be. Another option might be if there's a DO at your OB/GYN clinic that you might be able to see? Prenatal yoga and stretching is also suppose to be incredibly helpful (you can just youtube/google a few prenatal yoga videos to try out). What about a prenatal massage?

  • I’ve been struggling with sciatic pain for months, as I did my previous pregnancy. The chiro is a life saver. Chiro care during pregnancy is safe and effective. Yoga, specifically pidgeon pose helps me relieve it.

As PP stated, we’ve mentioned a lot of helpful tips on this subject in previous threads, so I hope you take the time to look around and gain some more!
  • The only thing that works for me is to lay on my side w/ the “sciatic side” facing up, and for DH to roll a baseball bat over my butt. It hurts because the sciatic nerve is “stuck”. You have to unstick it. 2 nights of him doing this and I’m back to normal this morning. For now, anyway.
I hope you find some relief quickly. I have quite often sobbed as DH practically carried me because I couldn’t walk from the pain. I feel for you!
Also, +1 on recommending you change your screen name so we can get to know who you are!
  • Thank you for everyone for advice. I do apologize for posting without looking more in depth on other posts. I did change name not sure why it did not switch over. I am waiting to hear back with chiro info. Obgyn recomends but specialist does not. I will be trying bat method for now.
