This morning sickness is kicking my BUTT. I feel like garbage 24/7. Come on, second trimester pick me up!

I miss being able to meet my husband for a drink after work/spontaneous date nights. We didn't do it all that often, but they were always so fun.

Still no weaning in sight. Bottles were rejected. Planning on leaving the house for a weekend soon... sigh. Also we were at the Cardinals/ Rockies game last night and he wouldn’t go to sleep without me until 11, then woke up at 530 this morning. Ugh.

DS just got moved up on a therapy list so he’ll be starting a new language group 4 days a week! It’s run by students so it’s completely free! We’re paying about $500 a month for his current therapy groups so it will be nice to save some money before the new baby!
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least?
I miss being able to sleep until noon and then go out and have a boozy brunch with MH or my sister. I don’t miss feeling lonely.

DD’s daycare was closed yesterday and today so we’ve been hanging out and watching movies.

Being able to go out after 7 without lining up a sitter. I like having more of an excuse to go do fun kid stuff.
@flyingmombula does your LO use a soppy or straw cup? Maybe try using that instead of bottles.

She crawled into our bed at 3:30am and then kicked us until 5:30am, so my guess is she is going to be pretty tired today. I know I am!

We are going to my SIL’s wedding on Thursday, and I am concerned that my daughter is not going to wear a dress. She’s not terribly girly, and rarely wears anything without a Nike symbol on it. Although this morning she put on an entirely pink outfit so she could “twirl” at school so there is hope!

I really miss morning sex. Daughter is an early riser. That’s about it though, because life with my daughter is 100% more awesome than life without her

How are your other kids doing this week? Overall well... we’re still working on the potty training which is about 50/50. I’m so excited she’s started sleeping in her own bed for 5-7 hours (co sleeping previously)

GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? Leaving the house without a second thought and triple check and fighting a toddler into the car seat. I don’t miss being without baby snuggles!

I just feel so lazy and like a bad mom for laying down so much. DH tells me it’s fine as long as I’m watching him but I just feel so inadequate. Plus I’m super anxious because next Wednesday I start back at work and I’m just not sure how it’s going to go.

Going to the bar on fridays with DH but I wouldn’t trade that for hearing his laughs and seeing his personality shine.

Well DS got up at 4:30 this morning so I am dragging. I've been trying not to nod off at my desk this morning. He is teething though so his sleep schedule has been off this last week. Every night before I put DS to sleep I put my hand on my belly and tell DS to say good night to baby. DS rubs my belly and waves goodbye (that's how he says goodnigh) and it's adorable!

DS still nurses to sleep. I have tried everything to get him to sleep without nursing and nothing works. That also means that DH doesn't even attempt to help put DS to bed. DS won't take a bottle from DH if he knows I'm in the house. I am hoping that my milk will dry up while I'm pregnant so DS will be forced to stop nursing. I've been ready to be done nursing since DS turned 1. I'm not too keen on tandem nursing once this LO is born.

I miss more frequent date nights and going out for drinks whenever we wanted. I was going to say that I don't miss the baby fever, but baby fever was worse for me after DS was born. I was ready to have another by the time DS was 3 months old.

1 amazing little boy, 21 months, so they will be about 2.5 years apart if everything works out.
How are your other kids doing this week?
Little one decided to have 2 poops in a row right around midnight, so that was fun. He's otherwise really good about staying in his bed all night.

How do you introduce the idea of a new baby or sibling? I know it's early to think about but I want to make it a nice transition for him. We've got baby doll but mostly use it for identifying body parts. He's good at differentiating between kids and babies in public. He's got a baby cousin coming in October so I'm hoping that will help with the concept. I'm sure once he sees my bump and feels kicking he'll get curious.

*Surveys living room covered in toys and toddler furniture* ...there was life before the kid? Tell me more of this mythical land where stuff stays put away! (Just kidding, before we had him my house was just as disorganized, but in a grown up way)

DS, the usual, being rowdy and getting into everything. Prepping DD for middle school. Middle school! Elementary years went by way too fast. I am way more anxious than she is about her new school. She's very excited.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I've been so tired and sick in the evenings I just don't feel like doing anything. I used to get up and play with DS and/or clean the house, not so much lately.
I feel bad about that. As does my house and my DS. lol
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? I miss being able to do anything/go anywhere without too much forethought. I also miss going out drinking and dancing, that all pretty much ended for me 11 years ago - now on the rare chance I get out, I feel too old! But, I wouldn't trade it for the world, I love my kids, and they've enriched my life in so many ways.

How are your other kids doing this week? DS is good, typical 9 year old boy, obsessing over Roblox and Pokemon. he doesn't know yet and i am going nuts not telling him. We are so close and its on the tip of my tongue, just trying to wait until at least my first appt to tell him (a week from today hooray!)
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? my only concern is how im gonna make it. sooo exhausted and constantly nauseous. i feel bad for my son bc im gonna have to teach him to nuke some dinners bc i havent had the strength to cook in 2 weeks and i can't keep buying fast food or we will be bankrupt. LOL

What do you miss least? i miss being able to be spontaneous and just go to the movies, or go to the store or library without it being an ordeal...i was getting closer to freedom with a 9 year old and here i am starting all the way over. what i miss the least?? umm...nothing really..it was just a whole different life.

GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? not having to talk ALL THE TIME. I miss just listening to music in the car sometimes! I miss not knowing what to expect, now I feel way less stressed since I have done all this before:)

How are your other kids doing this week? She's doing okay. She has some teething happening and it's been quite the adjustment back to her routine from vacation, but we're hanging in there. I'm looking forward to not going anywhere for more than a night until Christmas.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? We've decided we want to move DD into her big girl room this fall. We want her to be settled when the baby comes and not feel like the baby is kicking her out of her room. So now the logistics and planning are starting. DH has already picked up paint chips, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything. For those of you that have moved your older one to a big kid room, how did the transition go? Did you keep them in a crib when you moved them? How old were they?
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? I miss being able to manage my own schedule on the weekends. I used to get up in the morning and get all my chores, cleaning, errands, etc. done so that I could spend the rest of the day relaxing. Even if DH takes her and I get all of those things done, I don't get to relax after. I have to chase a toddler around. I'm not sure what I would say I miss the least. Like @zionsmama85 it's just a whole different life before kids and after.

How are your other kids doing this week? Good, since I’m feeling puny he’s been watching too much tv recently, but sometime you just have to do what works.
Rants/Raves? I’m changing jobs and start the new job tomorrow. I’m so nervous that I’m going to feel really sick and not be able to hide it!
Concerns/Questions? My resting heart rate keeps dropping and it’s making me nervous.
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? Vacations and the pool, it’s just not nearly as relaxing with your kiddo. Amazing, just not relaxing! And I miss bars the least. The crowds and overpriced drinks, don’t miss that at all.
@CaptainPhasma Everyone has so many different opinions on how and when to tell their kids about the baby. We started talking about with the DD right away. At first I kind of regretted it because she got supper clingy but she is already adjusting really really well to it. I'm thankful she will have lots of time to process it. She already is so in love with her "baby siser". (We may have to deal with a hurdle if its a boy). The other day a fly landed on my belly and she swatted the fly and said "No Fly. My baby siser! Get away my siser!" Melted my heart. Then yesterday we were eating fries and she said that she had fries in her tummy, mom had a baby in her tummy and baby sister had fries in her tummy too.

Today our fridge died so after work I will be getting a new one, if we can find one that fits because my husband made the custom cabinets around the current one way too custom!! Yay....wonderful timing!
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? Probably getting up and just going places. I also used to go to the gym daily after work, which I don’t have time for now. What I miss least...nothing. We are in a totally differebt spot in our lives 5 years later and it’s actually a lot better than pre-kiddo.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I feel like I need to get through the wedding festivities for my brother before I can begin to enjoy this pregnancy and I wish it was easy to enjoy them. My mom & dad don't want the wedding to happen so I feel like all the pressure to be excited about it is falling on me. I am excited about it but I have my own things going on to be excited about.
GTKY: What do you miss most from your pre-kid life? What do you miss least? I miss date nights - dinner, movie, anything date night related. DH doesn't like to leave DD more than absolutely necessary even though his mom hounds us about babysitting & sleepovers so our "dates" always include our favorite 3rd wheel. What do I miss the least? The relentless question about when we're going to have kids LOL
@Bonnesetter27 I feel the same way about how such a tiny being can make me feel so awful! I also keep telling DH that I feel like it’s worse this time! Lol I’m sure it’s just because we block it out each time after the baby is here.

I have a pretty stressful job, too. Plus, I have to take the GREs in about a week and a half, and I have no energy or motivation to study and relearn high school math...

I do miss being able to accomplish a bunch of quick errands, or just get up and go somewhere without having to worry about eating schedules and naps. But, I love being a mom, and love our family time, and wouldn't trade it for anything!
