I saw this on some other BMB and I have started to compile mine, so I thought we could start a thread for it. What is on your "to-do" list to prepare for baby?

I feel more prepared at this point than with my first, but we also don’t have a nursery set up. I like this!
1) Order bunk bed and get both girls moved to one room - in the next few weeks 2) Set up crib/changing table once girls are moved 3) Get breast pump ordered - store that is in network has stupid hours but has them in stock, so just need to leave work early one day 4) Go through bottles stored at IL’s and see if need new nipples and order them 5) Wash/strip NB diapers 6) Wash NB and 0-3 month clothes 7) Pack hospital bag - beginning of Oct 8) Request note for closer parking starting beginning of Oct, and make a plan for if I go into labor at work (I currently park half a mile away, and I live/DH works/the hospitals my OB has rights at are 45 mins-1 hr away from work depending on traffic)
I think that’s it! I’ve been shopping FB marketplace and poshmark and am set for NB and 0-3 month clothes already!
I am not at all prepared, but I think a lot of that has to do with our house situation. So here goes:
1. Have new home completed and move in ready by mid-September. 2. Sell current house so we are not poor. 3. Piece together some semblance of a nursery at the new house (baby will be in our room for first 6 months, so just need changing area/play area. 4. Get DD and DS bunk beds so they can share room (DD's request). 5. Find all my old baby clothes in storage and wash/organize. 6. Buy new nursing tanks. 7. Wash swaddles, burp cloths, blankets, etc. 8. Figure out how we are going to get 3 car seats in my car. 9. Find a new car for DH that can fit 3 car seats. 10. Hospital bag (not until October) and DH's hospital bag. 11. Gift from new baby for DD and DS. 12. Order new pump. 13. Hash out "maternity leave" plan with my boss.
I’m honestly crazy so I already have the nursery ready, clothes washed, but I was like this with DD. Nesting started early and by 3rd tri I was on ordered bed rest, so I figure do it now while I can just Incase.
-Install newborn car seat bases in both vehicles -pack hospital bags -shampoo carpets -freezer meals -stock up on laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towel, non parishable pantry items -make sure mamaroo still works -set up bedside bassinet -maternity pictures -get new tubes for pump -maybe con neighbor kid to be a daily dog walker -Christmas planning and shopping
-Get nursery painted (picked a color though, phew)
- order a rug for nursery (looking at samples wednesday)
- decorate nursery
- get out pretty much all baby gear and figure out what works, fix or order new for what doesn't, and put it where it goes
- find and install infant car seat, and infant seat adaptor in citi mini
- get out breast pump and make sure that works, and also order a new one (since I'm entitled to another free one I'm getting it even if the old one still works like a pro)
- find, clean and store bottles (and order more maybe)
- organize and put away baby clothes (the have been washed at leat)
- pick up a few more newborn/0-3 clothes (DD was August so I need a few winter clothes for the little one)
- find, clean, and organize nursing clothes
- talk to pedi at DD's next check up about newborn protocol because honestly I do not remember
Okay I have complied mine into Word. I am going to try to copy and paste but apologize in advance if it's super long!

Oh man. I was just talking to my husband about how we need to do it all! At my appointment last week they voiced concern about how early they thought I’d go and it really put into perspective how I am 6 weeks away from when I went into labor last time. (8 weeks from the first time) we need to get it together just in case!
Luckily though this is number 3 so we have a minimal list. We already checked off the hardest one almost a month ago but upgrading to a mini van.
we need clothes! My toddler was a summer baby and this guy will not be. Plus said toddler (2) is busting out of 3T so I’m not sure they will ever match up to share. We shall see.
A bigger bed for the toddler so we can give baby the crib
I need to organize our room so he can be with us for awhile
Install the car seat
bust out all the baby gear and wash it all up.
in February our list will start back up though. My brother is currently living with us and moving out and then we get to clean, reorganized and move rooms around. I’m trying so hard to talk the husband into the younger two sharing a room and creating a playroom instead of all 3 having their own room. I want my living room back lol
while i love this thread, it is also super stressing me out! there’s at least a few things from each pps list that i forgot i also need to do. @tessiesmom26 your updated formatting so tidy and calming.
+nursery: -finish decorating (buy artwork, hang curtains, buy lamps, wash crib linens). -switch out ceiling fan. -finish sorting old baby clothes by size then label and put in closet. -wash preemie and newborn clothes. -wash/prep newborn cd stash. +baby feeding: -buy new pumps and fill out insurance reimbursement. also check to see if old pump still works. -wash old bf pillow. probably buy additional better one. -research and buy ointments/creams and helpful accessories. -inspect, organize, and clean old bottles and parts. buy new nipples. -buy a small stash of newborn ready made formula. +hospital: -preregister. -take infant cpr class. +life: -get a haircut. -paint as much of the remaining house as physically possible. -verify insurance coverage for post birth permanent birth control. -submit paperwork for dd1 to start preschool. -buy bigger suv. -build a freezer meal stash. -take the pets for their wellness checks and vaccinations. -finish crocheting twin baby blankets. -re-read infant care book. -make the rest of the house not so disheveled.
I love this so much! I haven’t done the first thing for this little girl. Nesting hasn’t kicked in and anytime I try to do more than the bare minimum, I pay for it later with my sciatica.
-Christmas gifts done by November -Sister gift for DD -Find/wash exisiting infant car seat & buy second one for DH’s car -Clean my car & wash DD’s car seat -Freezer meals done by mid September -Buy infant sling or wrap (is there a difference?) -Nursery - Paint - Replace area rug - Wall decor - Install light dimmer -Go through baby clothes and see if anything can be reused (DD was summer baby). Buy sleepers and winter basics for LO. -Buy breast pump/extra parts, pump bra, nursing tanks -Arrange childcare for DD during our hospital stay -Find out hospital’s visitation policy (can DD visit us in flu season?) -Wash pack n play, set up in bedroom, & research for newborn inserts -Replace bottle warmer -Wash Boppy cover -Wash crib linens -Add doorknob protectors to front and back doors now that DD can work the locks. -Stock up on toothpaste, dry shampoo, paper plates, grab n go snacks, etc. -Buy giant pump bottle of Germ-x for visitors -Pack hospital bag
Bonus for myself: -Organize photos on my computer and make photo book for DD -Haircut -Pedicure -Eyebrows waxed/tinted -Buy myself a few pairs of cute, comfortable, nursing-friendly Pj’s + robe
You girls are really making me want to kick it into gear. Kudos for being so proactive!
- get house ready to sell - sell it - pack our shit and move across the country - unpack - order warm newborn clothes for baby girl (DS was a Savannah summer baby) - pack a hospital bag for whichever state I end up going into labor in - wash cloth diapers - try not to lose my mind in the process - give birth - stick a straw into a bottle of wine and call it a day
So many good ideas in this thread! Here’s mine so far:
-order breast pump -sterilize bottles -finish nursery -wash clothes, sheets and blankets -pack hospital bag -install car seat bases -freezer meals -stockpile diapers, wipes, tp, paper towel, etc. -postpartum supplies - colace, pads, etc, etc.
