Re: Monday Ticker Thread 7/30
2. How are you feeling? Starting to have hip pain from when I sleep, and yes, I have my U-shaped pregnancy pillow between my legs and at my back and my hips are still sore.
3. Any appointments this week? None this week
4. Rants/raves/questions?
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?I wish I would have studied abroad in college. I have done tons of traveling since, but since I was a pre-med major I felt like I couldnt go since most of my classes had labs and you cant really do those abroad. I regret not doing it though
2. How are you feeling? Pregnancy symptoms are mostly gone, but I have a cold that is trying to kick my butt. My throat is really sore and I was worried it was strep, but today my throat is slightly better and I feel more cold symptoms. I'm just relieved it's most likely not Strep. I'm diffusing all the Thieves oil today though.
3. Any appointments this week? Glucose test on Wednesday.
4. Rants/raves/questions? I bought my friend's Mamaroo for $75 last week. We decided to keep our other swing from DD as well, but it is really old and can only run on D batteries. I figure the most I will get out of selling it would be $10, so I would rather just save it for now and use it in our room while I shower/get ready. I'll probably either sell it when he is too big for it or just donate it to our church nursery.
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently? I might have to copy @kiwi2628 and go with studying abroad. I traveled a bit in college, but I would have liked to make it to Europe. DH is not interested in traveling at all, so my traveling days are probably over.
2. How are you feeling? Can't complain right now
3. Any appointments this week? yes, today
4. Rants/raves/questions?
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
Definitely should have traveled more, but I cannot wait to take the kids to all the places I still want to see.28 weeks. Eggplant (but she is measuring 2 weeks bigger so she's the size of cabbage I guess)
2. How are you feeling?
Sore. Anxiety is creeping in. And I feel like we need to get everything ready, like yesterday.
3. Any appointments this week?
No, but I need to go take my glucose test at some point and schedule my ultrasound to check on my partial placenta previa.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I am pissed I am still throwing up daily and most food still doesn't sound good. I just want to be able to enjoy food again and it is making me shabby.
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
I wouldn't have gotten married (the first time) so young. I don't regret my daughter and wouldn't want to change having her, but I wish I would have enjoyed my 20s more.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
29 weeks, care bear? acorn squash? small cabbage? cauliflower? glad we are consistent in sizes
2. How are you feeling?
feeling pretty decent, minus the aforementioned hip pain, low back pain, and sciatica.
3. Any appointments this week?
just the chiropractor, and birth class #2 tonight.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I have never had dry skin since I moved to the hell hole of humidity. Not once. But now? Literally every inch of my skin is dry. My palms are dry and cracking, my hands look like they are about to start bleeding they are so dry, I'm surprised I don't have nosebleeds yet. Being out in the sun makes it infinitely worse, not sure if it's the sun that's causing the dry tight skin? Or my sunscreen? (no rash, it's a physical block, so I don't *think* i'm allergic?) I basically slather myself up in body butter like a greased pig every night to cut back on the itchiness. UGH.
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
I actually don't have many regrets in life, I think that you learn from your mistakes and I try not to dwell on what I would do differently. BUT, if I had to choose, probably going to copy everyone else and say study abroad in college. I could have gone to Qatar at our sister school and taken all my same classes over there, and not worry about getting behind or graduating late, but I didn't. oh well. I did travel to Europe a lot during/after college so I don't feel like I missed out *too* much.
2. I’m feeling pretty good. I’m definitely still tired and I feel the weight, but I’m feeling pretty good.
3. No OB appointments, but we have our birthing class this weekend
4. I had my 30 week appointment on Friday and was surprised to learn that while the TDAP vaccine is highly recommended, it’s not administered in my OB’s office. Apparently they’ll give it in the hospital, or I contact my PCP, or maybe go to CVS? What a pain to add that to the “to do” list.
5. I certainly had my share of fun, but I could have had a *little* more fun.
ETA: ugh, the stupid “draft” cut off the rest of my post!
@kiwi2628 funny you you mention study abroad. We had a random conversation about this at work today and several of my colleagues wish they had done it. I did not, but my sister did and enjoyed it (even though it was a short summer session trip). Thankfully I’ve had plenty of opportunities to travel as an adult!
31 weeks, the size of romaine lettuce? I feel like I was told that by another baby app previously. These measurements are whack.
2. How are you feeling?
+1 for really awful hip pain
3. Any appointments this week?
Nope.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I feel too tired to think.
5. GTKY: What is one regret you have from when you were younger- assuming you still get to the same point in life if you're happy, what would you go back and change/do differently?
Maybe that I never moved away from GA on my own? Not to say study abroad, I don’t really feel I missed out there...but once I graduated college and got a job, I always felt stuck in Atlanta; be it lack or finances or being too chicken to pack up and move alone. I think it would have offered up a great deal of growth within myself and given me the opportunity to become more independent and comfortable being uncomfortable.
