Re: Thur and Fri Ticker Change (7/26-7/27)
i have to figure out how to carry two itty bitty babies during drop off and pick up on dd’s preschool days in the fall. i can’t use a stroller because i don’t think there is easy ramp access. i likely can’t babywear them because they will be too small for the first few weeks (based on my guessimate). so the only option i can figure out is to carry two carseats in and out of the building each time. there has to be an easier option out there! any ideas?

weezer’s green album; it reminds me of the last two epic summers from my highschool days of driving to the beach seriously almost every day with friends. we used to get up super early in the morning to get there before the parking attendant (didn’t have to pay if we got there before them). i had a beloved mitsubishi eclipse convertible, so i always offered to drive, with the top down of course. it is such a great memory from my highschool days. ah, to be so carefree and close to the beach again!
24 weeks tomorrow! Cantaloupe!
I'm having a lot of stomach pain lately. It's all digestive (TMI: my BM's haven't been good; the texture is just fine, just nothing's moving and I'm getting awful poop cramps and gas pain). Other than that, I'm feeling good.
Not this week, but Tuesday I have a fetal echo.
It's viability day tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time had gone by!

The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel always reminds me of one of the happiest Summers of my life.
I was in Santa Cruz, California at advanced placement summer college and met the most amazing girl who literally changed my life and my view of myself in so many ways. We became instant best friends, roommates and I guess you could say soulmates. I really, truly loved her. We were both fans of Simon and Garfunkel and The Beatles, being hippie dippy trippy types, so we spent a lot of time listening to their music in between classes and trips to the boardwalk and the beach.
We ended up drifting apart a few years later because we were living on opposite sides of the country and were living our own lives, but I'll never forget her. I miss her even now, 20 years later (Jesus, I can't believe it's been that long).
My older twin boy, had he been a girl, was going to have her name as his middle name.

lower back is pretty sore. Can't really sleep and toss and turn. Also the swelling is so bad I live in flip flops and already have swap out my wedding bands for a silicone one. Not really sure how I'll do this another 4 months (because I know it'll only get worse)
nope
nope
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to?
oh this is such a great topic but I am so tired I can't think of anything. I'm a music and concert junky!
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to? There are a ton, but the first that came to mind is "Brown Eyed Girl." My Nana loved that song and I have a great memory of us at a family party a few days after my Papa passed, with all the woman of the family dancing around her in her wheelchair singing that song. She has since passed as well, but every time I hear that song I know she is right with me

feeling huge for 25 weeks, but trying to look back at my first pregnancy to see how big I was at this point in hopes it will make me feel better.
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to?
Simon and Garfunkel bridge over troubled water. My sister and I used to play that record on my parents old record player over and over.
But really, I am feeling pretty great, overall.
The nurses/medical assistants at my OB office NEVER know that I'm having twins. They start the rooming process and I'll say something about "babies" and they'll be like, "Oh! It's twins! How exciting!!" Look, I know they see multiple patients every day and that twins are fairly rare, but COME ON. It's right there in the chart - and I know because I work in the IT department for the healthcare system. I helped set up their views of the medical record software. It just annoys me EVERY time.
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to?
There are SO many! I don't know that I can think of just one. Before I say this, let me say I like ALL genres of music - mostly rock/country. BUT any song off of 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' reminds me of Spring Break 2003 when me and 12 other people road-tripped from Bloomington, IL all the way down to Miami, FL (making stops in GA, Panama City Beach, and a prolonged stop at a Waffle House somewhere in between because my car broke down - temporarily). It was such a crazy trip.
I failed the one hour glucose test and opted to test my blood sugar levels rather than do the three hour test since I was so sick for so long from it last time. I know it was my choice, but since my readings have been all good and consistent, I’m kind of annoyed by it.
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to?
I literally don’t even know where to start! I could go on and on. I majorly attach entire albums to points in my life that I listened to it on repeat, and before kids, when I ran, I’d listen to the same album for months of end, so I’ll tie that album to that time in my life (since having kids, I run without music and enjoy the silence, lol).
There's nothing wrong (other than it sucking) to not enjoy the process. You're in it for the baby at the end, not all the crap you have to go through to get there. It's not always (or even usually, from what I've seen) a wonderful, magical time where you feel like an earth goddess.

@MojieJo What a sweet story about your friend that you were so close to. It's too bad you drifted apart. Do you ever talk anymore?
@ftm_jen The fruit size comparisons drive me crazy. They seem so off sometimes!
@tessiesmom26 Is 3rd trimester 27 or 28 weeks? I thought it was 28 weeks!
@runningyogimama I also enjoy being pregnant most of the time, but this pregnancy I'm feeling more uncomfortable than I did with my first. So I'm pretty sure near the end I'll just be dying for this pregnancy to be over.
cuddling and watching cartoons. She hardly ever cuddles with us, so we're just enjoying every second of it, even though Umi Zoomi is annoying.
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to? Motion City Soundtrack's Commit This to Memory is the first one that comes to mind. I got that CD when I was going to school on the coast of California, so every time I listen to it it reminds me of long drives right along the ocean and warm sunny days.

i’m thinking of asking the teacher for help somehow, but there’s only two on duty (very very small school) so i’m not expecting that will work. at least it won’t be a forever issue.
@highsteaks Maybe you can just stack one baby on top of another in the car seat. Hahaha.

1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 24 weeks. Bump says cantaloupe, Ovia says puffin (one of my fave animals!)
Also, I've been having more nosebleeds than usual and hip pain. Yay random pregnancy symptoms!
Also, I've been having respiratory ickiness that I was hoping was just allergies, but hubby is sick, so it might be something real.
5. GTKY: Is there a song or album that you have a great memory attached to?
Any New Kids on the Block song reminds me of hours on road trips in the car with my mom and sister. Most of these were trips to spend a few weeks with my dad, which I hated, but I always liked the trips themselves because I was with my mom and sister.
Also, Island in the Sun by Weezer is the song that hubby and I walked out to after we got hitched. Warm fuzzies.
