Acne acne acne!!!

Hi ladies! Just wondering if any of you guys are experiencing acne... like everywhere! My chest, neck and back/shoulders are insanely broken out! Any recommendations on acne body washes or something I can do? I didn’t have acne this bad when I was a teenager!

Re: Acne acne acne!!!

  • No suggestions on body wash but I’d suggest reading the pinned posts and trying this in the symptoms thread.

  • Neutrogena makes a Body Clear body wash that might help

@mama0226 The active ingredient in that body wash is Salicylic Acid, which isn’t considered safe during pregnancy. It probably won’t do much harm since it’s applied topically, but I wouldn’t use it unless really necessary.

  • Also salicyclic acid face wash is fine as long as you’re not eating it - per my amazing OB that delivered DD in 2014.

  • Thanks for the feedback ladies! I might have to look into that acne body wash. I just started trying tea tree oil today... I need to do something! I feel so gross

I use the Belli brand for facial scrub, wash, and spot treatment. It’s a brand specifically made for pregnant women, can be bought off Amazon, and is “OBGYN recommended.” They also have a body wash available. I’ve always had pretty iffy skin, and I was bracing myself for the worst case scenario when I found out I was pregnant. I used a lot of various products before, and wanted to tone that down and have some peace of mind while pregnant. I did break out quite a bit around my chin during weeks 10-12, but now thankfully it’s going away in week 13. Considering my tendency to break out anyway, I thought it was going to be wayyy worse. The Belli products helped! Good luck!
  • Your acne might be hormonal. You could try consulting with an acne naturopath. They can help identify the underlying causes of your breakouts and develop a personalised treatment plan.
