OMG I don't know if this is really a FFFC, but I just made a big mistake. I'm severely lactose intolerant, and I just drank a whole chai tea from Starbucks and didn't realize until I was done that I forgot to say soy

Oh no! Do you have any meds handy?
I don't, and I'm worried it might be too late! It's not an allergy that requires an epi pen. Just serious gastro distress. I have found that I'm *slightly* more tolerant when I'm pregnant, so maybe I'll get lucky.
Update: I did not get lucky.

So my plan of feeding names to DS may bite me in the rear. We were talking about names in the car this morning and I suggested Ruth which has been creeping to the top of my list lately and DS said "No. The only name I like is Lorelei." So I listed a few more and the only one I got a reaction to was Virginia and he said he only kinda liked that one.
DH and DD1 made chocolate chip cookies last night from scratch with the kitchen aid mixer. It was so cute and adorable watching them make them. The sad part is that they taste really weird and off but I have to pretend I like them. Ugh, I was so looking forward to fresh chocolate chip cookies.
@kns1988Oh no! Hopefully you get lucky this time the resulting issues aren’t too bad.
@pttomato The same thing happens at my house and it makes me feel really guilty. DD and DS will take huge helpings of food and then end up throwing most of it out. We’ve talked about it and I’ve even started serving their plates, but it still happens more often than not.

I have another. Tl;dr: I passive aggressively won an argument with my husband about circumcision.
Long story: DH and I planned to circumcise DS, but he was too little to have it performed when he was born. He was preterm and only 4 lb 13 oz, so the doctor said we had to wait until he was 6 months old. Then when he was 6 months old, I called to schedule and the surgeon said he wouldn't perform it until he was a year old. At this point, I had already decided that I absolutely did not want to go through with it because a circumcision for a non-newborn is a whole different animal - they have to go under general anesthesia, for one thing. I told DH I didn't want to do it anymore, and we fought about it because it was important to him and yada yada yada. Well, without actually saying this out loud, I decided "Fine. I'll never mention this again. If you want the surgery, you schedule it." I'm the one who carries the mental load in our household, and I knew he wasn't going to take the initiative to schedule it. I didn't bring it up again, and 6 months later when DS turned 1, DH said "You know, we really don't have to do the circumcision. I can't imagine doing it with a 1 year old."
So I won an argument by being super passive aggressive, which is not my norm because we usually communicate really well. I'm still smugly satisfied with myself.

DD’s “boyfriend” and his parents are coming over for dinner tonight for the first time and I’m too tired from working in my classroom this week to make a fancy meal like I’d normally do. They are getting stouffers lasagna and a pre-mixed salad from Walmart. Maybe some garlic bread if I manage to grab a nap this afternoon.

I love breastfeeding and I hope it works out this time like it did with the others. DD was just a couple weeks shy of 18 months. DS was 11 months. I love it.
yaaaaas @jgil85 and @kaf1788 ... I quit botox while pregnant but I def did it while breastfeeding once...I didn't even think about it...maybe that's my FFFC but I didn't even think about it being an issue? I already can't wait to be able to go back after this one is here...my elevens are out of control.
oh man. Didn't realize you were supposed to wait until after BF to start up botox again...woof my forehead is starting to resemble a bulldog since I stopped getting it while TTC
I was grumpy and yelled at DH yesterday for spending too much money, but tonight while he’s at a video game competition I’m going to take DD to Target and get my spend on
Thankfully he’s nicer than I am so he’ll just ask me what we got.

I volunteer to clean so DH has to watch DS and I can have a few minutes of peace.
I do this as well, only DH does it too so then we have to decide who gets to clean and who has to watch DD. DH is also so much better at cleaning with DD’s help and it makes me feel a little lazy.
@sfgiantsgamerbabe yesss! Same. Or opposite sometimes if it’s a chore I really don’t want to do. I’ll be like ‘I’ll put DD to bed and you empty and fill the dishwasher’.

DH’s cousin is here visiting for the afternoon (was in town for a work conference, has a late flight), I’m just ready for him to leave (mostly sick of trying to entertain guests)—DH’s parents are also here visiting
@sparkymcgeee I love it and I guess my FFFC is im still breastfeeding my 26mo. We're only doing nap and bedtime and plan to fully wean before baby comes because I do not want to tandem nurse. But I'm hoping baby will be just as easy as DD.
@gorgeousariel I’m still nursing my 23 month old occasionally. I think she’s just about done though because there’s no milk anymore. I liked breastfeeding her as a toddler, but I hope this one can latch better than DD as a baby because the constant on and off she always did was rough. Also I would love to not nurse 15+ times a day for 4 months this time around.
My FFFC is that I hateddd BFing BUT in fairness I had a lot of cards stacked against me (emergency c section, postpartum preeclampsia, spinal headache, etc). Despite that I am going to try again this time. I loved my time in the hospital prior to the complications when I nursed DD. Especially the golden hour.

@BitterBetty12 I totally do that, too! I would much rather watch DD and/or put her to bed than to dishes. I don't mind making DD's dinner, so I like to make it sound like a chore so there's better pay off. Do you want to get her dinner ready AND bedtime routine, or do you want to do the dishes? DH always chooses the "other" option, like dishes.
Today at work our meeting was done at 11, and although Friday's I'm off at 2, I had no meetings or sessions after 11 so I went to my favorite "happy place"...a local popular lake/uptown...and sat at a private beach to study and enjoy some "me time".
@sweetyjenj yes same! I don’t mind getting her dinner at all. But I do hate cleaning her up after. So I’ll prepare dinner and then he gets to clean her up. Then I’ll do bedtime and he’ll do dishes.

@pttomato yes I thought she would be done nursing when my milk dried up but no. She doesn't " nurse" for very long but just enough to transition her to sleep mode.
