Hola chicas! Almost halfway through another week! Hope yours are going swimmingly!
Welcome to the PGAL (Pregnant after loss) weekly thread!
**This is a general trigger warning that CP, miscarriage/spontaneous abortion, selective abortion due to medical complications, and/or stillbirth may be mentioned. There is no need to add specific trigger warnings in your posts, but you may if you choose.**
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
4. Any appointment updates?
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do?
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 19+6, HALF WAY TOMORROW!! 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Sleepy-ish, and now the low back pain is setting in. I ordered the belly support brace that @texas_t recommended, so hopefully that helps. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I am really for my A/S to be over. I'm excited to see the baby, but I'm praying for a very boring and uneventful appointment. 4. Any appointment updates? Not until Friday. 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Work is just crazy busy. I have an event tonight, that's usually a ton of fun (it's an annual thing), and I'm dreading it. I'll be on my feet all day, outside in 95° weather. Pretty sure that's gonna get old pretty quickly. Especially since everyone around me will be drinking! 6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? I'd split my time between volunteering at a nursing home and a dog shelter. But yes, absolutely, I would keep working in some way!
@Hollyyyyy Congratulations on being almost halfway! 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? I am 17 +2 already. How is this pregnancy going so fast? I am well past my milestone. 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I’m feeling pretty good. I still have some back pain I do not wear supportive shoes and buy the evenings I am wiped out. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Hearing the heartbeat very easily at my appointment last week helped. I still worry more than is probably “normal”, but the growing belly and little flutters help a lot. 4. Any appointment updates? Not until 8/13 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): We had a great day with family that is in town yesterday. DS had so much fun with his second cousins and it was nice to relax with DH and his family while the kids played. I’m so grateful for amazing in-laws! 6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? While my kids are young, I would stay home and then I would volunteer in their schools when they got older. Eventually, I maybe would consider going back to teaching, but then, I would probably retire early to watch the grandkids.
@Hollyyyyy halfway tomorrow too!!!! Yay us! @katy0990 Yay for fun with family. I hope my LO(s) are able to have cousins around to play with sometimes 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 19+6! Hoping this is at least halfway!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Great. Not a lot of issues, other than annoying sleep (i CAN sleep, i just wake up a lot and get sore sides)
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Pretty ding dang good. A/S yesterday was great. a tiny bit of anxiety about the possibility of GD because babe is big. But my dr didn't move up the gd testing or seem worried at all so I'm trying not either to haha
4. Any appointment updates? Not much, can see appt thread about A/S yesterday, but it was uneventful.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Getting excited about looking at some houses. We expanded our search criteria to include a few more neighborhoods so there are more options popping up, but it is going to need to be an AMAZING house to get us to leave our current area. 6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? I'm pretty sure i would, maybe part time. Definitely do something with the Deaf community/interpreters, especially if it included some kind of research/writing aspect.
18+5 - 7 whole weeks past my latest loss milestone
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
I *thought* I had gotten some energy back - then I took a two hour nap after work yesterday.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
Okay, I think. Still using the doppler more than before. Maybe have started to feel the baby here and there. But also we got some sobering news about friends who moved away and are expecting next month (they’re temporarily relocating to deliver at the top pediatric cardiology hospital ‘cause their 22 week scan indicated they’ll likely need it . So...hopefully in a month we’ll feel better?
4. Any appointment updates?
Nope, not till end of next week
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Still not advertising it, but not denying that I’m pregnant at work as of yesterday. Enough people asked the one coworker I told that I figured it was useless. But getting helpful info on planning my leave (milking it given the daycare wait list situation) - I should be able to make it almost to the end of July (though the last 6 weeks though partially paid my job would not technically be protected). *EDIT: should baby come on schedule - I sort of expect not to make it till due date (high blood pressure), in which case everything would be shifted up accordingly. Plus my parents agreed to cover a small gap, so I’m feeling better about our daycare prospects.
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do?
I’d also volunteer, maybe administer a foundation if we started one (depending on these lottery winnings), and probably go to school for kicks (never finished my 5th degree program because I was only doing it because it was a benefit of working at the university - didn’t want it badly enough to pay for it myself).

1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 19w3d. Well past my milestone. This pregnancy is flying by compared to my last!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I’m feeling very well. Minimal symptoms other than some aversions. I have pretty good energy. The only thing that’s slowing me down is the occasional headache. They suck.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Feeling good here too. I’m feeling baby more so that’s always a relief. Once I find out everything is peachy keen at the a/s I think it’ll be smooth sailing.
4. Any appointment updates? Not until next week.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Not a whole lot happening. Really wanting to have our house ready to list in the next couple of weeks because there’s a house I’m super interested in looking at on the market. Eeek!
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? No, I don’t think I would technically work again. I am home now with my little one so I would continue doing that. Then I would likely volunteer at a theatre I already volunteer at (just more often) and probably some history museums in the area if I could. I kind of wanted to be a curator but it was always a long shot.
@artemis618 A HS classmate of mine is in a similar situation to your friend. It certainly is scary to hear about the scary things that can come out of the a/s. Thank God we have access to modern medicine and technology!
@morgantu I wouldn’t worry too much about baby’s size. I had lots of extra monitoring when I was pregnant with DS, and we were consistently told that baby was going to be over 10 pounds nd he came out 4 days late weighing 8 lbs 2 oz. The fluid can really skew the measurements.
Decent. Though, DH was back to school yesterday... which means, an early alarm, at least one snooze, then about half an hour later the shower starting. I'm a fairly light sleeper so I wake up for each of these things, and yesterday left me verrrry sleepy through the day. I got in bed earlier last night so hopefully, I can make myself keep doing that! My agility has plummeted, making it harder to play with DD.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I sold my elliptical on Monday evening and am so relieved. It was in our bedroom and was an irrational, regular reminder of the loss. I'm so happy to be rid of it. LO has been so wiggly, which I love but I still get super random and sudden pangs of anxiety/worry. I think I was this way with DD too, so I just try to breathe through it and not let my mind fill with awful scenarios.
4. Any appointment updates?
Back in on 8/9.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Our new sitter started yesterday. She's been really great so far. She came for a couple of hours last week, I talked to her former employer Monday, and yesterday she was with DD for five hours (grandpa was there for a couple of hours too with a contractor). Oh, and our second bathroom was gutted yesterday. We'll see how this goes. I hate working with contractors but H hates DIY.
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do?
I was actually thinking about this over the weekend when we were watching Millionaire House Hunters or whatever it's called! If I wanted to work in a traditional sense, I think I'd take a part-time marcomm role with a nonprofit (i.e., something meaningful). I'd start some urban/community gardening venture. If I wanted to get a little out there, I'd be a leisure travel journalist (assuming H and kids were with me!).
@katy0990 that's great that your DS has cousins to play with. My cousin has two boys under two and I'm so looking forward to when they can all play together. @morgantu I'm glad to hear your AS went so well!! @artemis618 I was sorry to read your friends' news on the other thread, I totally understand why that would increase your worry. I'm glad they are able to go somewhere and get the help they will need! @rosebud332 I'm with you on the headaches sucking. I think I'm giving them to myself now by worrying they are going to come! @hoosiermama-2 glad to hear you like your new sitter!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 19+2, well past all milestones 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I've started to feel pelvic pain now, mostly when I first stand up and start to walk. It's not terrible but I'd prefer not to have it. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I've been too preoccupied with other things to stress too much which is good and bad. Work has been very busy which is a good distraction. My stepgrandmother is still doing pretty badly but I was able to go see her in the hospital and felt surprisingly ok afterwards anxiety wise, thanks in part to you ladies and your encouraging messages. Her horrible sister came to town so I'm redirecting any anxiety to angers towards her haha 4. Any appointment updates? My AS is Monday, finally! 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Just found out I got free box seats to the Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker concert on Saturday so I'm very excited about that! 6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? I second what @Hollyyy said about an animal shelter. I follow an animal rescue in PA on social media and I would love to be able to do what this woman does, she rescues the worst of the worst and it just amazes me to watch her success stories.
@Hollyyyyy Good luck at your event! Drink a lot of water! @katy0990 Glad you had a nice time with family! @morgantu Good luck with the houses! @artemis618 Glad you are feeling better about the daycare situation! @rosebud332 Good luck with the houses for you, too! @h@hoosiermama-2 Lol at your plummeting agility; I feel ya! 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 21w3d
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Doing well!!! My random complaint is gas pain. It feels like my stomach is going to explode at times, so that's fun.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Pretty good now that I'm feeling Owen consistently!
4. Any appointment updates? None until 8/13
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): MIL is coming to stay with us for 2 1/2 weeks to be here for DS1s bday.
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? Man, this is tough. At the moment I don't feel like working so that makes me want to shout "No! I'd never work again!", but that's a lie, lol. I have no idea what I'd do but I'd have to do something!
@texas_t Your post made me do a double take because my DH is an Owen My Owen’s conceded he’ll learn this baby’s gender next week so we can finally start talking about names. Good luck with your MIL’s visit! That’s a serious amount of time.

2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Ok. More back pain, sciatica, still constipated, trouble sleeping.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Same as always mostly though I am starting to feel movement. Still using the doppler almost daily.
4. Any appointment updates? Had a follow-up anatomy scan today. Everything looking good so far. Next appt Aug 13th
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Not much. Did some MOPS stuff, having some Dr appts. Husband getting on my nerves.
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? Nah! I'd stay home with the kids, maybe go back to school once they were in middle & high school. Might go back to work once they're off to college. Retire or go part-time when grandkids came.
@artemis618 The consolation is that she cleans like a mofo, so I won't have to do a load of laundry or dishes for those 2 1/2 weeks. PRAISE! Good luck on names!
@morgantu I’m certain that the deaf community would love some work/attention. A distant family member adopted two deaf boys - one from another country, one stateside. They have become very involved in the community (mom & dad are both hearing persons), and I love their new passion.
@artemis618 Oh, starting a foundation is a wonderful idea
@rosebud332 Eeeee, hope your house listing goes quickly & smoothly!
@lippy625 Sorry your stepgrandmother is still in the hospital, but super happy that you’re able to see her
@texas_t 2.5 weeks is a long time - I would go crazy seeing anyone other than DH that much
@mommythlegend Re:constipation Frosted mini wheats! I started eating a bowl each day and I’m finally regular again, I wish I was serious about eating it months ago
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 20 weeks today - 11 past my loss!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Pretty good. Finally resolved my constipation with cereal (frosted mini wheats por vida!), but my feet still enjoy swelling more than I like. I'm trying to minimize swelling in general because I am terrified of gaining a shoe size.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Medium. This morning I woke up feeling very not-pregnant, so that freaked me out a little. Still can't say that I feel LO, but the dogs are still protecting me - so I am just trusting that they know.
4. Any appointment updates? Anatomy scan next week! Can't wait to see LO, I haven't seen him since week six.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Dear Diary, I wish I could blink and the house would be unpacked. I'm still happy that we bought a small house, because we're being forced to downsize our belongings, but obviously I don't want to sort & drive things all over town to donate. At least we're getting a little done each day - some is better than none!
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? Good question! I've been a housewife for a little while (we move too often for me to get a real job in my field), so I'll continue freelance editing and blogging for funsies. If we had lottery winnings to factor in, then I would either rent out a workshop, or build an attached garage so I can get back to woodworking! I love dreaming up and designing shelves and such, but haven't had a good workspace in years. Maybe next move we'll be in suburbia because I really do want an attached garage so I can work in the winter & summer. One day

@echo-charlietango I was lamenting over donating things, too, but then I checked my mail and I had a donation pick up scheduled to be by my house this Friday. I almost cried tears of joy. And, yeah, my MIL def knows how to grind my gears, so I will be on a short fuse by the end of her stay, lol.
@Hollyyyyy Congrats on being halfway tomorrow!!! I'm sorry about the lower back pain and hope the belly support works. I should dig my band out of storage and see if it helps with my SPD issues. @katy0990 Yay for feeling little flutters! @morgantu So glad the anatomy scan went great! Though I'm sorry about annoying sleep issues. My stupid SPD has started to cause some disrupted sleep and I am not happy about it! I want all the sleep I can while I can! @artemis618 Glad you're feeling better about daycare options - I asked my friends in your area and they didn't know of any openings. But if that changes, I will let you know! Still keeping an ear out for you! @rosebud332 You're getting so close to halfway! Glad you're feeling good and hope your anatomy scan goes wonderfully! @hoosiermama-2 Ooh, urban/community gardening sounds awesome! That would definitely be on my list if I won the lottery (though I'd probably have to get a bit better at gardening first, lol.) @lippy625 Oh, I'm sorry you're feeling pelvic pain too! I had some manageable SPD last time around and nothing really helped, but this time, since it started much earlier I'm going to try more things to try to improve the pain. If I find any good tips I'll let you know! @texas_t Ugh, sorry about the gas pain - that's the worst! But it's so great you're feeling Owen move so much (and I love his name.) @mommythlegend Glad your follow up A/S went great!! @echo-charlietango Oh you've waited so long to see LO again! I hope your anatomy scan goes great!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 21 weeks, 1 day! 18 weeks and 6 days to go (not that I'm counting, haha.)
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I've been dealing with SPD pain but it's been manageable, though last night and this morning were rough. Reflux wise, I've gotten really good at knowing the like, 10 foods I can eat and be fine. I am extremely bored of those foods and miss salads and soups and smoothies very much, but I'm tolerating it fine. I continue to have no appetite but I get nauseous if I don't eat frequently enough, which is annoying. I guess my overall mood re: pregnancy symptoms is "dealing with it, but annoyed."
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Anxiety wise, I've been feeling better since the A/S and since feeling more movement, though I wish we were up to the consistent movement/kick counting phase, which is even more reassuring. But I'm happy and grateful every day just to be pregnant and have the reassuring movement that I do have.
4. Any appointment updates? Nothing until 24 weeks! I hate the in between appointment feeling, but it is good to know things are going well enough I don't need to be seen sooner.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Work is busy, so I feel behind in reading/posting, but that has been the theme of the last couple of weeks, so I guess it's normal!
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do?
I would write full time, play and record music and spend much more time with my husband, DD and this LO once born!
@echo-charlietango I actually eat frosted mini wheats for breakfast most days! I used to always eat eggs but haven't in months because baby gags at the thought of them. lol
@echo-charlietango I have been having the same random feeling of not feeling pregnant and it freaks me out. I try to just distract myself but often time I grab my Doppler (thank god for those machines!)
@maureenmce I'm longing for the days where there are constant jabs and kicks to reassure me!
@lippy625 I'm glad you were able to visit your step grandmother!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 18 weeks
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling good! I feel like I've done a 180 from having absokabsol no appetite for the first 16 weeks to wanting to eat constantly! Trying to make good choices overall with snacks. I gain 45 lbs with my DD due to indulging in milkshakes and sweets too often! Feeling movement but not very regular.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Doing ok, I want to say it's better than it's been. Still checking with a Doppler almost daily. Stopped scanning myself at work.
4. Any appointment updates? I have a regular OB appointment on Monday then our A/S is Wednesday! Hoping for a boring and uneventful scan as well!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): IDK if it's hormones or what but I'm feeling super irritable. My 2 year old is driving me nuts asking me the same questions over and over again. Whining and crying. I wish she would independently play more. She constantly wants my attention. DH is going out with friends next Friday so I told him in going to go to Starbucks next week for a few hours of peace and quiet to read a book or something! 6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do? I would but only like twice a month in the ER to keep my skills up, get my adrenaline rush and to help people feel better.
Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 7/25
19+6, HALF WAY TOMORROW!!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Sleepy-ish, and now the low back pain is setting in. I ordered the belly support brace that @texas_t recommended, so hopefully that helps.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I am really for my A/S to be over. I'm excited to see the baby, but I'm praying for a very boring and uneventful appointment.
4. Any appointment updates?
Not until Friday.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Work is just crazy busy.
Not until 8/13
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
We had a great day with family that is in town yesterday.
@katy0990 Yay for fun with family. I hope my LO(s) are able to have cousins around to play with sometimes
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Getting excited about looking at some houses.

Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Not a whole lot happening.
19+2, well past all milestones
Her horrible sister came to town so I'm redirecting any anxiety to angers towards her haha
4. Any appointment updates?
My AS is Monday, finally!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Just found out I got free box seats to the Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker concert on Saturday so I'm very excited about that!

20+3
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Not much.

Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Dear Diary, I wish I could blink and the house would be unpacked.
One day

That would definitely be on my list if I won the lottery (though I'd probably have to get a bit better at gardening first, lol.)
@lippy625 Oh, I'm sorry you're feeling pelvic pain too! I had some manageable SPD last time around and nothing really helped, but this time, since it started much earlier I'm going to try more things to try to improve the pain. If I find any good tips I'll let you know!
@texas_t Ugh, sorry about the gas pain - that's the worst! But it's so great you're feeling Owen move so much (and I love his name.)
@mommythlegend Glad your follow up A/S went great!!
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Work is busy, so I feel behind in reading/posting, but that has been the theme of the last couple of weeks, so I guess it's normal!
6. GTKY: If you won the lottery and didn't HAVE to work, would you anyway? What would you do?
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
IDK if it's hormones or what but I'm feeling super irritable.
