I finally went through all of DS’s 0-3 month clothes to see what we still need. There are a ton of onsies and shirts, literally no pants. He was born in January, so I know he had pants and I know I didn’t get rid of any of his clothes. I’m so annoyed that I can’t find them:(
That is annoying!!! @nackie. I hope you find them! I went through what I have so far and am amazed with how much 0-3 we already have! I just want to make sure to go through the 3-6 and make sure nothing tiny / oddly sized is hiding in there...
On another note, baby is going crazy in there this morning! I guess baby enjoyed mama's leftover shower cupcakes for breakfast, too! :D
@nackie I hear you! I pulled out some boy and girl NB to 0-3 (team green here). Washed it all and while I was putting it away, I realized I didn’t actually pull any boy bottoms out to wash. And now I just don’t feel like going back through the bins of clothes again.
We finally got everything worked out to get a new car this past weekend. 2018 Toyota Corolla. I was surprised at how much room is in the back. Even though our old one was fixed after my wreck, DH said it was time for a new one anyway.
@smsaulino congrats! I used to have a Corolla. I loved that car. I had to get rid of it after it was in a wreck and they couldn’t ever get it fully fixed
@EErin86@dexnie that was exactly my first thought; how have you been surviving? I got mine pretty late and I have no idea how I survived without it before!
I had my baby shower Sunday and it was super fun! I'm quite the introvert so I was a bit nervous about hosting a baby shower with almost 30 people, but it was fun
On vacation with the ILs this week at the beach. Having lots of fun and soaking up some of these last days as a family of 3. But we also already told Nana and Papa that next year they better be ready to babysit a lot more because we plan on getting shwastey! The beach is great, but the beach with a frosty adult beverage is way better, lol! I was talking about how I'd probably have a couple glasses of wine during the trip and I think my MIL was freaked out. My SIL is also pregnant and she's way more conservative about stuff like no caffeine, no alcohol, etc. She was actually talking about swishing wine around her mouth and spitting it out the other day. Which is fine, you do what you feel is best for your baby - but I just don't like how my MIL probably compares our different perspectives. Hey, at least she has the sense not to say anything to me about it though so I can't complain too much.
@BusinessWife glad to hear you had a nice shower. For some reason reading that you had your shower made me so excited. It means our due dates are coming up!
@Car0liiine I miss drinking so much more when we're at the beach... and I can't imagine wanting to swish and spit wine, ha.
Baby #4 here and I never got into the pregnancy pillow thing. A friend gave me hers for pregnancy #3 but I didn't love it an only used it for a night or two. It took up too much space in our queen sized bed with my 3 year old in it too! I'm glad you finally have your belongings though @dexnie

@crispy11 I hear you. Baby #3 here. I got a pillow for #1, but by the time I hit 33-ish weeks, I couldn’t stand it and slept better without it. With #2, I used it between 20-30 weeks. This time, I didn’t even pull it out. Takes up too much space and just gets in the way of getting up to pee.
I would love to share pics! I honestly didn't get a tonne, bc I left my phone in my purse all day. So I might have to wait for most of that till SIL gives me a (surprise) shutterfly album. ;) hypothetically speaking, of course.
@Car0liiine I feel like swishing and spitting would just make me even more sad about not being able to drink it. Either do it or don’t as far as I’m concerned.
i posted a question in the baby clothes thread and can’t find it. Is it there and I’m not seeing it? My brain has completely checked out. Baby is gonna be a genius bc he’s taking alllll the brains.
We bought a new to us vehicle today and now I’m not going to be stressed about how to fit 3 kids in the vehicle anymore. Yay!
Now I just need to figure out all of the other stressful things like buying a car seat and other little things we have to fund, also a shortlist of names. Only really worried about what we have to buy because my husband got his hours cut and we lost nearly $2k per month and I’m really wanting to be able to save money just Incase we can’t make it when I’m on maternity leave
@megnwingate What vehicle did you end up getting? I have a nagging feeling we’re going to end up in the same boat. We’re awaiting delivery of new seats for DS and DD. If those don’t work, we’re SOL.
@megnwingate oh no! That’s so hard to hear about he change in hours and such a significant loss in monthly income! I hope you can find some ways to alleviated the stress! But yay for a new car! We did 3 car seats across our Honda CRV for awhile but now with #4, we finally got a minivan and it’s love.

Sorry to leave y’all hanging...started back to work for my 7 day rotation. We got a new to us 2017 Expedition.
Yes. He will get his loss of hours/wages back. He works in the oilfield and the company that they have contracts with don’t have any rigs working in the Gulf during Hurricane season. So that was about 10 hours of OT gone from not working offshore. Then he lost 14 more hours of both regular and OT because they knocked him back to 10 hour days. It’s going to be tight and stressful for the next couple of months and he is wanting me to only take 6 weeks of maternity leave, but I’m still shooting for taking all 12 weeks. Cross your fingers, say your prayers, send good juju whatever else you would like for me.
Dropped my girls off at basketball camp this week and a very friendly appearing coach called over “the hospital is that way” meaning to be funny about how I look like I’m about to give birth at any point. *eye roll* I just called back, “oh, still have another 5.5 weeks to go!” knowing that his comment was meant to be harmless. It’s crazy how people have no filter around pregnant women. (Luckily I’m a fairly thin person with a good deal of body confidence so I wasn’t offended in the least but I know that sentiment hurts a lot of pregnant women!)

Finally went for it and gave DD a blanket for night time. She is 22 months but it still makes me nervous. She has been having troubles sleeping (I'm thinking two year molars??) so I am hoping it gives her comfort. We are going to be giving her a pillow soon and I ordered what I thought were two pillows on Amazon for just under $20. Great deal! Only it was two pillow CASES! Not a good deal. Ha.
@mrsman2018 darn that stinks about the “deal!” I have a 22 month old too and I thought it would be so cute if he loved a little stuffed animal... but I created a monster. He sleeps with a swaddle blanket and 3 jellycats plus a small stuffed Moana. The trio of jellycats come everywhere with us now! So cute but now high maintenance! (I’m not great with inserting pics here so I hope this isn’t huge!)

@mrsman2018 my girls didn’t get attached to one thing either. I had a friend from my April 2013 board whose son loved stuffed animals and swaddle blankets and I thought it was adorable so I let DS get cozy with them, but now I have regret! (Well only small regret because he is pretty adorable with them!)

@crispy11 People who don't understand repercussions of their statements drive me nuts. While pregnant these people make me ragey. I was at a huge family gathering this past weekend. My BIL mentioned to me, "so I heard you have gained 30 lbs?" Um, what do you want me to respond with? I haven't gained 30 lbs, maybe I have gained 50? Or 10? Or 60? or 5? WTF is it your business what anyone gains? Pregnant or not? And better yet, who mentioned anything to you? I can sure as hell guarantee it wasn't my husband because that isn't what I have gained, so then it makes me think it was my MIL.
@lisac113 whoa, that's a pretty terrible comment!! And *shudder* about it possibly being your MIL who is discussing your weight gain. Yikes! My MIL knows better!

@Car0liiine glad you are having a great time! I are though, beach vacations are always better if you have the option of fun drinks.
@BusinessWife so glad the shower went well!
