1st Ultrasound

Had my 1st ultrasound yesterday.  I went in with the thought that I was a little over 6 weeks and the ultrasound tech said I was less than 5 weeks.  No embryo was found, but the yolk sak is present.  Feeling a little discouraged and trying not to be.  This is my first pregnancy at 41 and I have honestly thought I couldn't get pregnant.

    Don’t be!  I had my first ultrasound at 4 1/2 weeks, but I thought I was 5 1/2 weeks! We didn’t even see a gestational sac.... nothing! So you’re already in better shape! It was too early. Went back in at 6 weeks and 1 day and saw gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole and even a heartbeat flicker! Give it time. If your cycles are a bit longer, that could be why you’re extra early. I have a 34 day cycle and my doctor explained to me that this is likely the reason I wasn’t as far along as I had initially thought.
