Has anyone had an umbilical hernia during/after pregnancy? I got hit really hard in belly button and now it feels...funny. I'll bring it up with my doctor, but wondered if anyone had experiences.

@MandyMost Yes! In all of its debilitating glory. I think we have a thread somewhere on this. I know @stothi also is, and I think @Wishilivedinflorida is too.
For me, prenatal yoga helped quite a bit for a while, but staying away from stairs, keeping knees close together, sleeping with all the pillows, and staying off my feet were the only things that kinda help. Belt and PT, plus chiropractor did little or made worse. Sorry that you're dealing with it too

Just feeling some pressure down below. No pain except when Max is being a brat terrier and trying to kick me out of bed. My walking pace has slowly declined. It's almost as if I have to pull myself up the apt stairs, that's the hardest thing right now I guess.
I currently have about zero appetite (unless it is ice cream). This is NEVER a thing with me, like ever! I always have an appetite, I love to eat. You know when people say they got so busy they forgot to eat? Yeah, that isn't a thing with me. I don't know if it is because I took it really easy over the weekend or everything on my insides are getting too squished and I don't feel hungry? Either way, I decided to have an ice cream date with a friend tonight since that is about all that sounds appetizing. My husband is bringing home a take n bake pizza because I just don't feel like making a darn thing and don't know if I even want to eat that.
Yup @MandyMost you are not alone. It’s awful! Unfortunately there’s nothing to take it completely away, little actually helps it, until you give birth. Thankfully we are all in the home stretch!
Yep, spd here since 17ish weeks. Chiropractor helped, as does ice, but I still feel like my pelvis will shatter if I get out of bed wrong or move wrong. Mine resolved very quickly post birth.
@JLyn821 Hearing past experience helps. I ended up being hungry for dinner so it might just be a breakfast and dinner are about all that sounds good right now.
@MandyMost yep SPD here too. I woke up every single time I needed to turn in bed last night because it hurt. My ostheo helps keep it at survivable levels so I took another appointment with her, and apart from that same as everyone else said; keep knees together, sit to put on undies/pants, limit activity that hurts it and maybe try stretching/prenatal yoga if it's your jam. Apparently the abdo belt can also help but I haven't personally tried it yet since the belly is still tiny enough that people think I'm 20-22 weeks. Seems this baby is growing up in my lungs and down in my pelvis instead of going outwards! Good luck!
Between my bladder and DH's random noises and touches, I don't think I'm getting 2 consecutive hours of sleep. Been taking lots of naps. Plenty of slightly painful BH. I have a weird lump above my belly button. I think I may have had it last pregnancy too. Wondering if it's like a touch of diastasis recti with my internal organs getting squished out a little? Not painful, a little tender if I poke at it maybe. *Shrug*
@lpq0309 I think mine is doing some body waves or the worm in there. I feel these weird little “waves” across my belly. And of course some stretching where my belly suddenly stretches across.
By the end of the work day my back hurts from sitting up so bad I want to just lay down in bed.
I feel like my need for sleep lately is rivaling first tri! Anyone else? Of course it could totally be the fact that the motn peeing means I never get REM. Why do I have to pee so much more at night? It's like as soon as i get in bed, little bub starts playing me a lullabye plucked out on my urethra!
@Car0liiine I totally feel you. The fatigue is real here too, and the heat hasn't helped! Hang in there!
On a less elegant note, I'm pretty sure I have a yeast infection settling in. I am prone so I already wear cotton undies, and I don't wear liners or tight pants. I've let it air as well but no luck it seems. Any other tricks? Is canesten even safe for pregnant mamas?
@tpeci Give me an antibiotic and I will have a yeast infection. I am also a GGX instructor, so I change my spandex pants immediately after class, but it still help to contribute to it. You may already do this, but when I am home bumming around, I don't wear underwear and wear loose fitting shorts, as much cotton as possible. Also, if you get one, my doctor wrote me a rx for a cream that worked way better than OTC Monistat and didn't burn. He wrote me one for 7 days, which while annoying, the length of it actually helped I think. Sorry, it isn't pleasant.
I'd like to start by saying this is by no means a gloat. I started my pregnancy over weight and I have not put that much weight on so far but I'm some what concerned as I've put on less than half a pound so far this month which is not much considering baby should have put on about a pound and a half in that time. I put on about a pound a week last month, I don't think I've been eating much different this month though it has been very hot. I've been trying to eat lots of nutritious food and eating to hunger, but I'm sure like everyone else at this point, I'm getting full very quick and getting heartburn and indigestion regularly.
I was wondering if anyone else has found it difficult to put on weight in pregnancy, (literately the only time in my life usually I put on weight too easily).
@tpeci Monistat is completely safe (though you should use the 5 or 7 day course). I would honestly recommend evaluation by your OB to make sure you don’t have BV, which can be associated with PROM.
@lisac113 thanks! Yeah I'm the same, super prone with any little change. I did wear loose clothing/no undies, even long shirt without, but no luck. I tried the probiotics treatment last night and i actually think it might have helped? I'm less itchy and swollen this a.m. I'll give it another night.
@Wishilivedinflorida that actually never even crossed my mind, very good point. I'll call the clinic tomorrow, esp. if it doesn't get better.
@tpeci I only mention it because I had both at the same time in 2nd tri this time. It was awful! I wouldn’t have known if they didn’t do both tests and was so glad to get both knocked out at once.
@cornichonmam I had actually lost weight at my last appointment, but my fundal height is increasing steadily, I know I’m eating fairly nutritiously, and I’m not worried. I seem to gain early in pregnancy then slow way down in 3rd tri. It’s something that can really vary from person to person. If you’re eating nutritious food, your provider isn’t concerned about baby’s growth, and everything else is “normal”, it’s probably nothing to stress about. You can always ask your provider if you’re concerned, though.

@cornichonmom I've heard that it's not uncommon for weight gain to slow or stop in third tri depending on the position of the baby. My baby for instance loves putting a foot on my esophagus sometimes which makes it impossible to eat. If baby is compressing your stomach, you could have a similar experience. But I agree with @treeofcheem that you should ask if you are concerned.
@cornichonmam I actually stumbled upon an article the other day saying that doctors are starting to say it's totally fine to lose weight during pregnancy if you're overweight because studies have shown that babies will pretty much take what they need from your body. As long as you're getting decent nutrients into your body, the caloricc intake isn't as important. My cousin and SIL both had Hyperemesis Gravidarum and had trouble gaining weight during their pregnancies. My cousin actually lost weight and had to be on a pump for anti-nausea meds and have home health services come give her IVs. But they both had healthy, big baby boys! (Anecdotal, I know, but these babies really will take what they need, including sucking the calcium from your bones and teeth!) If your doctor isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry and just try to choose nutrient packed foods since it's hard to eat very much at this point.
@cornichonmam I had my 33 week appointment last Friday and for the first time in the pregnancy, me or my girl didn't gain any weight since previous appointment. My girl had measured ahead since first ultrasound and I have just gotten over being sick after 6 months of the stuff so it was surprising to my ob. She sent me to a high risk dr and they recommended same thing as my regular ob, just to take in more calories. I'm increasing the amount of high calorie protein snacks and adding ensure to my diet to see if that helps. If it doesn't, I'll increase the amount of other fatty foods. Is your dr concerned about the amount of weight you're gaining? As long as I gained even half a pound an appointment, my ob wasn't concerned.
@cornichonmam I have only gained 4 lbs during my pregnancy (currently 31 weeks) and I would say that I have always struggled throughout my life to lose weight. I have never been significantly overweight, but always a little chubby or pudgy, depending on how much I was tracking my food and exercise. I am a group fitness instructor so health wise I know my body is in good shape. It is weird for me also that I have not gained much weight. I had an appointment today and my doctor was not that concerned. My fundal measurement (which isn't always completely accurate) is right on target. My doctor is not that concerned, but is having me do a growth scan in two weeks. I am starting to slow down right now and I think that will start to add the pounds. My doctor said some women just don't gain that much weight, but her measurements so far have been fine. I would definitely ask.
Thanks for all the responses. I saw my MW yesterday and baby's growing so she's not concerned. In the UK you only get measured at your first appointment unless they think your putting on a LOT you don't get weighted again so it's not something I'd previously really talked about with my MW. I'm not overly worried, like we all do, I just want to make sure that my baby is getting all the nutrients they need and that my body isn't depleted of nutrients so I'm in the best position to breastfeed when there here. Also though I was overweight at the start of my pregnancy, I'm not massively so and I'm only a few pounds over the threshold so I do need to put some weight on I just need it to be a reasonable amount. I've also been having a look at my diet this week and though on the whole it's pretty good I think at this point in my pregnancy and with the baby growing so much I probably need a bit more protein than I'm currently eating.
The one thing I think has made the biggest difference in my weight gain throughout my pregnancy is that I have had a strong aversion to sweet foods the whole time. So I haven't been eating anything with sugar or sweaters at all, only fruit is ok for me at the moment. It's really made me think about my diet before as there are so many foods which contain more sugar than you'd think, including a lot of savory foods and I think that not eating so many empty calories has made a big difference.
@smsaulino I'm glad your sickness has finally gone, I'm surprised you've been able to put on any weight.
@cornichonmam I haven't put on any weight at all. I've actually lost 30lbs and have stayed the same for the last two months. I started overweight too. Doctors weren't concerned unless he want growing but he's measuring way ahead and is really big so they told me not to worry. I'm actually excited to see where I'll be after he's out.
