  • @tessiesmom26 I've felt the same way after a busy weekend of belated 4th of July activities and DS's birthday party! Actually relieved for a slow, normal Monday. Good luck with payroll!

My PGAL brain is going full steam the last couple of days and I hate it. Just a week ago I had a perfect AS with nothing wrong. However, yesterday I started realizing I have barely felt little man move where as before I was feeling him all the time. So now I am freaking out and thinking about calling the OB to go in. But at the same time, I feel silly because I know at 20 weeks, this type of thing happens where you can go days without feeling anything.
  • @bfpafter4years I can't imagine what you're going through. I have a general tendency to go down the "What if" rabbit hole in a negative way and I've found myself doing that a lot during this pregancy. While I haven't had a loss like yours, I too take every little sign (or lack thereof) and immediately think, "Something's wrong!" I never quite realize how much it weighs on me until I feel the tension subside after I hear both babies' heartbeats each time. If it would make you feel better to call your OB, I would do it.

  • @bfpafter4years I worry a lot too. Two weeks ago at a routine appointment we heard baby girl kick the Doppler and I felt nothing. Even yesterday at my 20 week anatomy scan she was being super active on screen, but I didn’t feel anything. I told the technician how much I worry about sometimes going most of the day without feeling her move, and she told me that at 20 weeks, she was approximately 12 ounces and most of her kicks and punches are not going to be felt.
  • @middleschoolmommy I am so jealous! Kind of want to get one for myself!
  • Lord be with me today....DH put some rat traps in the attic and last night at 3:30am one went off above our bedroom. Except that I think it only got the thing’s tail or something because we could hear it dragging and banging the trap around for the rest of the night. I wasn’t able to tune it out and sleep until 6am. I’m a zombie this morning. At least I don’t have to go up there and fetch it.
  • @MouseMama817 LOLing at @lurvleybunchococonuts pointing out the irony of your screen name. :D I feel terrible that you're in zombie mode today, though! Thanks goodness you don't have to go up there and get rid of it yourself!
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts LOL I thought the exact same thing about the irony of @MouseMama817 having a rodent problem. Hopefully you founds some energy today, Mouse.

Someone, on a general pregnancy facebook group, posted their ultrasound picture with their baby boys name... "Eggsy Elijah-Snow M...." From the movies Kingsman and Lockout. This was the first time I've seen anyone on the Facebook group say something negative about a name. OPs response was that they will use him being bullied as teaching moments.... How about not give your kid that name? I mean seriously. It still amazes me how many people are WK-ing for the OP. Poor kid.

  • @lifesabeach85 wooosahhh... you got this girl! All will be well.  There's still lots of time to get everything done.  I have a few things but essentially am in the same boat.

@middleschoolmommy Oh that poor kid... Can you imagine having to create a resume with that "unique" of a name?  Goodness gracious.  And here I worry that Talulla will be too "out there".

@lurvleybunchococonuts I love the name Talulla!

The OP also defended saying most names aren't unique anymore *eyeroll* As a teacher, I guarantee you he will be going by something else before leaving elementary school.

  • Forget elementary school, can you imagine trying to apply for a job with that hot mess name?

  • @lifesabeach85 I’m right there with you! Normally such a planner and I am so “eh” about the nursery, clothes.. even a name! So unlike me! Need to start getting it together
  • Dying at Eggsy. I’m a school speech therapist.. would def look twice if there was a kiddo named that on my caseload!

    sidebar, love talulla!
  • Eggsy isn't tooooooo terrible. I like the way it sounds when you say it, but I hate the way it's spelled. Though, i'm not really sure there is another way to spell it...lol. Now, the whole name put together is awful!

  • I'm still hoping the post was a joke. That poor child.
  • Hum, maybe I am lost in translation, but watching Kingsmen (which I loved too!), I've always thought it was kind of a nickname....?

  • @EvilRaccoon I also LOVE the movie, and it was his nickname! Which is something a commenter pointed out and they were called rude for doing so 0_0

  • @tessiesmom26 I hope the tour is great and the new school  is amazing!
I have the option to sign DS up for pre-k in the district I teach in this coming school year. I considered it for about 2 mins, since I want to him start getting a little more "learning time", but the district I teach in is a world of its own! When the pre-k teachers tell stories of being cussed out, bit, kicked, punched, etc, it really solidified that it's not where I want DS to be. I've been thinking a lot lately about DS starting Kindergarten next year and how I will probably miss taking him to school on his first day and it makes me sad, but I really want him in a better environment. I feel bad for saying this, because I love my students and this is the best job I've ever had, but I want my own son in a better environment and I know I'm lucky to have that option for him.
