Re: 1st Trimester Check-in | w/o July 9

  • Thanks for starting this again! Not sure where all my other 1st tri ladies are!

How far along are you? / EDD- I am 8 weeks today!

How are you feeling? still very nauseous and nervous! Felt some cramping last night and was so worried I was going to start bleeding again. Can it be the second tri already?!

Any recent/upcoming appointments? We confirmed yesterday that 1 baby stopped growing, but the other one is looking good with a HB of 155! I go back for my last RE appt on Tuesday.

Thoughts/Concerns? Not really- just still very anxious overall and not feeling great. Its been hard to enjoy any of this with losing the one baby and having the large SCH. Just trying to make it through each day and each week!

How far along are you? / EDD
    10 weeks 4 days./ Due Feb 2

    How are you feeling?
I'm feeling okay. I'm a little tired at times and.hungry all the time  I haven't had any major nausea  but my stomach can feel a little yucky if I haven't eaten in a while. I came down with a cold and we are going away. I really want to avoid medication as long as I can, so I'm trying to rely on natural remedies, but it's going to be more difficult while I'm not at home.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Last week was the first appointment with the ob. Since it's my 2nd pregnancy  I didn't have tons of questions and wasn't surprised by much. I did see the baby's tiny legs moving, which is always fascinating.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Last time around, I had bad bleeding.in the 9th week due to  the sac separating a little. The bleeding slowed down and stopped a few weeks into the 2nd trimester. Now that I'm a week past that point, I'm still a little nervous about something like that happening again.

I am anxious to tell friends and family the news. Only the people closest to us know  I'm tired of being in hiding.

    Questions:
  • @JamieH2000 So sorry for your loss, but glad that your other baby is doing great! A 155 HB is excellent! FX for a great final appointment with your RE - graduation day, such a huge milestone! Hoping some of the other 1st tri ladies will make their way here once they feel comfortable to start sharing.

@LynnNJ Double-digit weeks - yey! And congrats on moving on to your OB! Do you have a specific time/milestone goal you want to reach before you plan to tell others, or is it more of a wait-and-see kind of thing right now? I hope you feel better soon and have fun on your trip!

  • @JamieH2000 hey there, happy to see you here again! So sorry for baby B but it is good that baby A is growing! 155 is a great HB! To tell you the truth, worry does not go away in the second trimester! I am 17w and still freak out a lot! The good thing in the second trimester is that you can use a home Doppler! I use mine every day!
Also don't worry about cramping, it is normal! I was also worried about cramping and then it stopped and I was worried about not cramping! It is just all part of the jorney! And then my symptoms stopped at 8 weeks and I was convinced that something bad happened! I am very anxious person!
Try to enjoy it little bit a time though, it gets better!

  • @lynnnj- glad to have someone else in the first tri with me! It is hard not telling people, especially during the summer. I also have had bad nausea so its making it hard to do much. But I am just way too nervous! I feel like even at 13 weeks I still won't be ready to share. Not sure I will ever believe this is happening for real!

@mag1cbeli3ver- thanks! I am nervous for graduation day- I get such great care at my RE and weekly ultrasounds! Hopefully the OB i picked will be understanding if I am a little high maintenance :)

@decemberdoll27- good to know the cramping is normal! Its just so weird how it will come and go. I hate being nauseous all the time, but I also do worry when i am feeling better. Its so messed up! I'm sure the second trimester will still be stressful, but hopefully I will at least be feeling better then and not worrying since its normal to feel better in the second tri. I think IF makes all of us anxious people- even if we weren't before. It def changes you!

  • @JamieH2000 IF def messes up with your head. I used to be an optimistic person and though I keep hoping for the best, every little thing makes me worry that it’s over. I’ll be 19w tomorrow and I still haven’t told my boss. And I’m def showing. I just make sure to wear a big jacket in the office. And if I take it off I hold it in front of my stomach. It does help that I work only with guys.

  • Joining in late this week, but I’m here!

How far along are you? / EDD 9w2d, EDD is 2/13

How are you feeling? My nausea has been less the last couple of days, which is of course making me nervous. Still feeling tired though.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? This week we’re touring hospitals and birth centers so that we can choose a care provider affiliated with wherever I want to deliver. One more place to tour, but I have a favorite already.

Thoughts/Concerns? I haven’t really had any breast pain or growth yet, but that seems to be a major symptom for most people. Anyone else had that start later in pregnancy?

Questions: I’d love to hear about experiences with birth centers vs. hospitals!
  • *lurking* @darkstar42 not all symptoms will present themselves. I never got any of the traditional 1st trimester symptoms except feeling tired with my pregnancies.
  • @darkstar42 same for me! I didn't have any symptoms either.
  • @JamieH2000
You can look at my posting history but basically, I was terribly anxious my entire pregnancy. IF just screws with your mind and you keep waiting for something to go wrong. While I did develop pre-eclampsia at the end and was delivered at 35 weeks, 2 days, my pregnancy was largely trouble-free and more importantly, my little girl was perfect and healthy, very strong! But I spent basically 8 months certain that I wouldn't have a baby at the end of it. After all, why should a good thing happen to me?

And while I worry about different things now (is she meeting her milestones, is she getting enough to eat, is she sleeping too much/too little), I felt like a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders when she was born. I had never felt such incredible relief in my entire life -- and complete happiness. I felt like a new person. Getting there is the hard part, just keep your chin up! Get a doppler if you think it might reassure you (once you are further along).

  • @mbradfo2- glad to know I am not alone! I told myself I was going to enjoy this if I ever got here, but between the SCH/spotting, losing the one twin and horrible nausea, its definitely been a rough start i must say! This week its been starting to feel more exciting- like this may actually work. I looked at the m/c stats online by day and I guess by 9 weeks its down to 2% if everything is on track. Not sure how totally accurate that is, but i guess the point is the odds are way in my favor that this one baby should keep doing well! I will def breath a little easier once we get to second trimester and I can start feeling movements.
