Any NYC mamas here? Looking for RE recos

Hi mamas. Is anyone here from NYC? I'm looking for recommendations on RE's as I'd like to get a second opinion. A little background - I've been with my current RE during my first IVF cycle, got pregnant and had a boy in January of 2017. This January we transferred our remaining embryo with them and the transfer didn't work. I went for a consult with my RE after the transfer and he said in order for me to do another retrieval with them, I need to lower my BMI and ultimately weight. The reason being, they aren't a full fledged medical facility and if someone goes under anesthesia and doesn't wake up on their own, they don't have medical equipment necessary to resuscitate someone as a bigger facility or a hospital would have. While I do trust my doctor's opinion and am working on lowering my BMI, I wanted to get a second opinion as well. I'd love to do the retrieval while I work on myself and get ready for another transfer and right now this is my only roadblock. Hoping there are local NYC mamas here who can share their experiences with their RE's that I can look into. Thanks!

Not from NYC but I’ve heard CNY mentioned a ton. Hoping you can find an RE you feel comfortable using. CNY is also supposed to be affordable. Good luck lady.

@Tulips29 Who are you seeing now? I actually think if it's a facilities question, you want to look for REs who work out of a hospital. I've heard good things about the NYU practice, and since they're at the NYU hospital (Tisch) on First Avenue I imagine they have facilities to accommodate larger women.

@susykat77 I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with CNY, what is the full name?

@adirat I'm currently with RMA of NY. I do like them and my doctor, but they are not associated with a hospital. A quick google search did lead me to the NYU clinic, it's just a bit out of the way all the way on 1st ave for me that I was looking for other options. But if I can't find anything, I may go for a consult there.

@JWatt5 I follow her on IG already and I do remember she was living here previously. I may ask her

@tulips29 Ha, CNY is upstate so definitely not right for you if you think 1st Avenue is a hike! NYU is the only one I know of out of a hospital, but I wonder if the Cornell practice also has hospital facilities?

@susykat77 yes, unfortunately upstate doesn't work for me.

@adirat I will look into Cornell. RMA is so convenient for me currently to commute to and then walk to work and still make it there by 9 am. I can make NYU work potentially, it'd just be a bit harder. First world problems, I know...I'm rolling my eyes at myself. I should be thankful we have more than 1 option here.
