Some friends of ours are having a 4th of July party. All the kids always have a great time. We’ll have to leave before the fireworks so we can get DS to bed on time, but it should be fun. Other than that, I need to start packing for our beach trip. We leave Sat!
DH and I sort of had our weekend to do things around the house commandeered by other plans.... so we'll be planning to keep it low-key and hopefully super-productive. ;)
Still gotta stop on the way home and pick up the meats, tho! :D
Busy week at work. I wish the holiday fell on Monday or Friday for a long weekend as opposed to busy Mon-Tues, holiday, busy Thurs-Fri. Having it break up the week might be nice, but I hate having to worry about not being out as late because of the work night. We're going to head to my parents for a combined 4th celebration / belated brother's birthday celebration. My parents have a pool so we'll do plenty of swimming and have a cook out. Should be fun!

DD has been down to 1 nap at daycare for awhile, but apparently weekends are for sleeping and she's still sleeping 4+ hours a day (two naps) on the weekends. This is killing our productivity in our master, which is just opposite the wall where she's asleep. So me, DD, and the dogs are heading to the cabin Fri-Sun to get out of H's hair. Fingers crossed for some super awesome productivity for him. As for the actual 4th, I think we may go up to my ILs house, but TBD.
My bathtub got reglazed a few weeks ago and they took off the stupid sliding glass doors which is awesome. I had been lobbying my Building Manager for that for years. We just ordered a shower rod, shower curtain, liner, and hooks and they should arrive Tuesday. So, my big 4th of July plans definitely involve setting up my new shower
I’ll be working for the 4th & my dumb self offered to be open-close manager so nobody else had to work since I just took over a week off for a “vacation”. I had so much vacation time stacked up that my HR manager said if I didn’t take 40+ hours BEFORE maternity leave, I would lose 40 hours before I return to work after New Years. I thought about using it right before my leave but I didn’t want to cut it close in case we have an early arrival and then I would lose it anyway. Got to spend the last week with my SIL and MIL from North Carolina, it was nice to get to see them before baby comes. We won’t see them again until January. We have lots of errands to run today, hoping to find a dresser for the nursery, we’ve also got our 28 week appt with ultrasound and glucose test (ugh). Thursday we are finishing up the nursery (ideally). Seems like the closer we get to the arrival, the busier we get.
A Wednesday holiday is awkward but hopefully DH and I can get some yard projects done (the chickens need an outdoor area!) Then we might visit with friends in the evening but not stay for fireworks because I won't be able to function on Thursday if we get home past 11. Friday I'm hosting a cook out with coworkers which should be a good time.
I have three major things to accomplish this week at work so I'm excited a lot of people will be on vacation the whole week and it will be quiet
DH gets this week off every year so we are trying to get as much done as possible. But my MIL texted this morning and asked if she could stay with us tomorrow through Friday while FIL is on a business trip. She has several chronic auto-immune diseases and feels like she might be in the verge of a flare so didn't want to rush traveling with her husband but doesn't want to be alone. So we rushed around to clean today but there's plenty more to do. Tomorrow we're going to NC for a mini reunion of some kith and kin on my mom's side. Should be fun. Although I just realized I don't have anything patriotic to wear and can't find my only pair of shorts. Hm. Oh well, DD can be my patriotic accessory. Babies make the best accessories! Everyone have a fun holiday and be safe traveling!
Hey ladies! We're taking the kids to the pool today. I'm hoping this Sept baby will be a water baby because my Sept 2016 toddler is like a cat. I can look forward to a few hours of putting him in the baby pool, having him walk out, and then putting him back in and so on. I bought him a finding nemo pool toy because he latched onto another kid's nemo last time and carried the "fishy" around for awhile. Hoping this will be my key to sitting by the edge of the baby pool while H swims with the big girls.
