How far along today? How big is baby? 38 weeks tomorrow, the size of a pomeranian or winter melon.
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Nothing major, still dealing with the low blood pressure. Haven't seen my numbers hit 100 for a while. Doctor isn't too concerned just says to stay really hydrated and actually add sodium to my diet. My body is so backwards sometimes lol.
Appointments/US this week NST and quick fluid check on Tuesday, OB on Thursday and NST on Friday.
Random Questions Spending the day at the water park today. Can swimming help to get things moving along? Anyone know any workout moves to get things going? Also, someone mentioned doing a mamma dance to start labor. I'm willing to do all the non-dangerous things just a feel an actual contraction, even a BH.
Rants/Raves F these useless chewable tums! They improve my acid reflux a tiny tiny bit but make me constipated AF.
How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? We aren't doing anything official but I think we're both tuned in to being aware what the other one needs. Since he will be off for 5-6 weeks our goal is to just enjoy this time as a family and roll with the punches.
How far along today? How big is baby? - 38w tomorrow ( ), size of an Oscar statue or a bucket of KFC
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms - back pain/contractions in the early morning and evening. They always stop though and they’re super mild. Heartburn. Tendinitis in my left foot going on three or four weeks now...I want an Advil so bad.
Appointments/US this week - 38w check up with stretch and sweep on Wednesday. Hopefully that moves things along.
Random Questions
Rants/Raves - It’s. So. Hot.
How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? - nothing in particular lol. Hopefully that works
@runsomewhere there’s nothing evidence based to help get things moving, just lots of old wives tales. I’m in a VBAC group that encourages the “rest and eat ice cream” method, which I am employing wholeheartedly lol
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Lots of cramping/ BH lately. I've been having a lot of dizzy spells lately driving me nuts! And hello swelling hands! My fingers look like giant sausages.
Appointments/US this week 36 week checkup and growth US scheduled for Monday.
Rants/Raves I'm so sick of my family checking in daily asking if she's arrived yet! I'm 36 weeks, stop bugging me! With DD I was induced at 42+1 and I had to completely unplug from all social media because I couldn't handle the questions and unwelcomed advise to get baby moving. Sorry distant cousin, I don't want to hear about what sex position and toys you used just before going into labor. How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? DH has the next 9 days off work for the holiday and I plan giving him all the chores! He is in for a rude awakening if he thinks he gets to disappear every day and stay up playing video games every night
@runsomewhere Swimming helps with my back pain SO much! I haven't heard that it helps get things moving but my OB recommended it after I was still having issues after the chiropractor.
How far along today? How big is baby? 38+1 today, winter melon
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Cleaning house i guess counts as nesting. Super uncomfortable with lightning crotch and pressure. Not much of an appetite these days either.
Appointments/US this week CS on Friday! My doctor canceled the one i had for Thursday which makes sense.
Random Questions Nothing right now.
Rants/Raves So many last minute expenses (necessary for baby and me) and H is still talking about things he wants for his “shop”. I just want my garage back! How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? still working on repairing from DS. It definitely changed us as individuals and a couple. I am more open about my concerns this time and won’t wait for his approval or support if i know i need to take action. I will be going back to sharing a bed (mostly because of family staying over). I am mostly concerned and DS becoming sad so I’m really preparing H that he will need to be more involved with DS especially as i recover. We are also planning lunch and a movie for this Tuesday while DS is at the sitter. Baby steps but i feel better equipped this time.
How far along today? How big is baby? 36 weeks, Papaya
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms The pelvis is just sore, ALLLL the time. Even worse when I need to pee.
Appointments/US this week Nothing for this week. Because of the holiday week I couldn't get an appointment. I just need to call every day to see if someone cancels.

Rants/Raves Ugh with the hot weather! I'm just hiding inside this weekend. Thank goodness I don't have to commute to work anymore because it won't let up for awhile. How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? How far along today? How big is baby? I don't even think we thought much about "preparing" relationship-wise. We have been making sure to spend time together alone and go on some dates. One baby is here it's going to be all about him so just making sure we have had some special time with the two of us.
How far along today? How big is baby? 36w1d -size of a papaya. Growth scan yesterday showed 6lbs. 6oz.
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms
Carpal tunnel is the newest and most annoying symptom. It’s only in my right hand which is my dominant hand so it’s extra annoying and uncomfortable to do things like put on makeup and write. Also, I was having knee pain in my right knee the past two days like she was possibly pressing on a nerve or something. Thankfully that’s gone today!
Appointments/US this week
I had my last growth scan yesterday. I have NSTs on Tuesday and Friday this upcoming week and I have my 37 week appt on Friday. I’m curious to see if I’ve made any progress since I was 1cm and “soft” (whatever that means exactly) at 35+5.
Random Questions
can’t think of any!
Rants/Raves Long rant: I posted in the randoms thread a few days ago about one of the MFMs stressing me out over my fluid being a little high and that could possibly be because of the baby not swallowing fluid (which it would be a lot higher if that were the case along with a lot of other reasons why that’s not a concern) or that it could be due to Down’s syndrome. Which is also very unlikely as I had low risk panorama results but she apparently looked at my chart wrong when she said I hadn’t done that test. When I reminded her that I did she said “well, it’s not diagnostic”. I’m still so pissed she said those things. Anyway, at my growth scan everything looked fine except that her bones in her arms and legs were measuring a few days behind. The tech measured them several times and was having a really hard time getting the measurements she needed because baby was so curled up and squished in there. And there were “shadows” on things she needed to measure. She said it was likely nothing to be concerned about because they have always measured fine in my past ultrasounds. The MFM (a different one than my appt the other day) reviewed the u/s and said it looked fine. But I really wish that other MFM never put any concerns into my head at all. I was feeling fine and not nervous but now I feel like I’m going to be a nervous mess until I see her after birth (due to my history with my daughter and her genetic abnormality and how things happened after her birth). I’m hoping to discuss things with a different MFM (whom I like) at my appt Friday to get some reassurance.
How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition?
We haven’t discussed anything. Probably because this is our 5th baby and we know how things go post-baby. We are in a really good place relationship-wise (probably better than we have ever been) so I’m not concerned.

We aren't really doing anything different. I might try and go out one last time as a family of 3 the weekend before the C section date
How far along today? How big is baby? 38+2 a melon of some sort
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms All the cramping yesterday, so far nothing today. A constant feeling like I’ve been kicked in the vagina.
Appointments/US this week Tuesday - growth ultrasound with MFM and he will likely make his final recommendation on when to induce based on that. Then across the street to my midwife for NST, hopefully a sweep if they can finally reach this time, and discussion of induction. Very anxious.
Random Questions Yes, my question is, how can I get this baby to come out on his own without being induced??? Ugh. I’m already trying all the “tricks” that won’t actually work unless my body/baby are ready. Just feeling like it won’t happen but still doing all the stupid things. I even bought a pineapple yesterday. Eye roll.
Rants/Raves I just wanna experience spontaneous labor! I guess it’s encouraging that my blood sugar was better this morning and if baby is measuring well on Tuesday and I get my fasting down a bit more the MFM may be okay with waiting an extra 6 days to induce. If he does recommend induction on Friday, I do not want to ignore his recommendation and potentially put the baby at risk, but at the same time if baby is doing well and measuring okay I’m not sure if I’ll consent to an induction on Friday if my body doesn’t seem ready. How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition I don’t think we are...besides having a lot of sex. And even though I’m miserable the sex has actually been good! But any issues we have in our relationship will not get better in the next week or so, it’s all just a work in progress and we get through things as they come

How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? we havent really prepared relationship-wise. I've been really wanting to go back to couples counseling for a check in however h doesnt think we need it. Soooo...it is what it is. @runsomewhere & @zande2016 my neighbor used clary sage oil (1 drop on each inner ankle) to induce naturally. Within 2 hours of her applying, she went into labor. I applied some lastnight and it didnt cause labor, however I've been cramping and feeling bloated all day. I've also dropped big time since yesterday. I'm going to try it again this evening. Reading up in it, it can be applied every 30 minutes. I enjoy the smell of it. However other women have said it smells awful. I'll keep you posted!!
@zombiehoohaa that’s interesting, when I had acupuncture she did some acupressure massage on certain trigger points and one of them was the inner ankles. Where did you find the oil?
@zombiehoohaa I just did some googling and found a lush bath bomb with clary sage oil and jasmine, apparently both can help strengthen contractions. I’m sure the concentration is too weak to really do much but it’s a good excuse for a nice relaxing bath!
@zande2016 enjoy the bath!!! my sister sells doterra, so she had some. However I think it can be found on Amazon as well. Apparently the inner ankle is a pressure point to help induce labor. I also read that rose oil is supposed to help make contractions stronger. I rubbed 1 drop of clary sage on each inner ankle then walked Costco. I'm feeling some intense pressure and cramping. I also have an overwhelming feeling of crying, however I think the crying is because of dealing with my H this afternoon.

Rants/Raves my last day of work is Friday - and instead of being able to make a calm transition, I am still dealing with stupid things that should be the least of my concerns... so annoying. I just want to organize my files LOL. How are you and H/SO preparing relationship-wise for the newest addition? We haven't been doing anything special, but we've definitely had some conversations about how our relationship might/could change and to be aware of it... It's our two-year wedding anniversary on the 16th so we are going on a special dinner date (so hoping little beeb doesn't come before then)! We've been together for 10 years now, and have gone through a lot of significant life changes together and have always been stronger for it, so I'm pretty confident in our relationship's ability to withstand pressures and changes.
@runsomewhere I dunno about getting things moving, but I've heard that swimming is great for getting baby into a good position for delivery. It also just feels so good to be weightless in the water so I would just swim/float as much as possible anyway (I've been going to the pool weekly since like 20 weeks)...I am slightly worried that my water will break in the pool though (kind of joking but not really...as how would you know!!??).
