My elderly dog wakes me up at 5 am every.single.day. Might as well take advantage of the early wake up before my bigs wake up (by 6:30

) by binging on Netflix (The Let Down) and eating Fruit Loops.

Up early this morning, (as always. Just waiting for my son to wake up and nurse...) I refilled our bird feeders yesterday, and we're getting lots of birds again. I saw a group of fledglings all hanging out on a branch together, looking nervous. Then they all flew off with their papa bird. I love seeing the young birds get accustomed to life on the wing. Just a cheerful way to start the morning.

I’m up at 4:50 by myself - DD woke up in the middle of the night, so DH took her to the guest room and I guess they slept there. I’m going to enjoy the bed by myself and binge watch some TV.

DD1 woke up with a fever and saying her belly hurts. If she throws up, it’s going to start a vicious cycle for both of us.

I’m supposed to go take DD2’s 1 year photos today, I wanted to do it early before it got hot. Heat index of 112 here today. But of course H is still sleeping peacefully I. Bed.

I'm up and doing laundry and getting started on packing. We are visiting a neighbouring island for a small family vacation, we leave tomorrow morning.

It's going to be a really hot day here today so we might try and bring DD to a splash pad.

Every morning I wake up so nauseous, but this morning I woke up starving for McDonalds breakfast. I texted H who is out running errands and he's not answering me.. I may have to pack up the two kids and go to McDonalds.

So my 2yo daughter saw me throw up for the first time, and thought it was hilarious. She then started imitating me, then laughing. Below is a picture of her pretending to throw up, without all of the sound effects.

My daughters internal clock is set to wake at 5:50 this week. On the nose. It feels like sleeping in after the five days before that she was waking up at 4:30. Oy That was rough.

For us, not a shower, but we have items we will need 2nds of etc and would love to get the completion discount. I've heard I can just change the due date, that true?

My DS slept until 9am this morning... I’m still in shock and very thankful. On another note I broke my streak of not throwing up while pregnant. I was very nauseated when pregnant with DS, but never actually threw up. Hoping it’s just a one time thing, but not feeling too hopeful.

I'm going to have to check out the let down! I hadn’t heard of it.

We took the kids to see Incredibles 2 this morning and they did great. DD had the biggest melt down on the way out to the point we looked like we were abducting her. I then spent the drive home throwing up popcorn into a ziplock bag.

@madreofdragons I doubt we will do much of anything. We went to a parade and fireworks last year and neither kid liked it.

*TMI alert*

My wonderful toddler passed her rotavirus onto me and for the last 2 days, everything that goes in has been coming out both ways non stop. This, on top of the pre-existing all day pregnancy nausea, is how it all ends, folks.

Tell me if I’m being ridiculous here. My sister is in town for the week and she invited me to her church’s July 4th thing tonight. My son is 11mo and still nurses. He doesn’t nurse often, but he’s eating 3-4 times a day from me. She goes to a Church of Christ church. I go to a non-denomination church, so this has never even been something that has come up before. She just called me and told me that if I need to nurse, I need to go inside to the nursery even though he would most likely want to during the fireworks if he wants to at all before we get home. I should also add that I always nurse with a cover. She’s trying to make it out like she’ll get kicked out of the church if I have to nurse DS during the fireworks with my cover.

I’m seeing red.

@PurplePoppy424 say what!?!!! Where I nurse my child is my decision. If someone else is uncomfortable then they can look the other direction. Breast-feeding my child is not a sexual act. They can go F themselves

My H went to go get me a burger from Dairy Queen because nothing else sounded good and I hadn’t been able to eat all day.
He got back with my burger and had gotten himself pretzel sticks as a snack. Of course I instantly wanted pretzel sticks.
Then he pulls out another order of them and says “Don’t worry, I got you one too”

I love that man!

@PurplePoppy424 pretty sure I'd say, 'you'll get kicked out of a church bc I feed my child...that seems dramatic...does anyone else get kicked out if they help their kid cut their food, or make a plate for their grandma?..'

So update. I realized very quickly after getting there that it was not the church at all that was the problem. Other moms were nursing exactly where and when I was going to. I realized when I got there it was a sister issue. I took the opportunity to educate her. Not in a confrontational way. I was able to point out one of her good friends nursing her 5.5mo while the thing was just getting going. I don’t think she’ll ever say anything like that to me again.

I work Tuesday through Saturday night shifts so my weekend ("Friday night") is about to start in less than an hour.

Every holiday I get bitter that daycare is closed, even though I am still paying for it and even though I still have to work myself (and so does DH). I am so thankful I have family close by willing to help or I'd probably lose my shit.

@notthecheat - agreed - we pay no matter what. DH and I have the week off and we’re still sending the kids. When we go on vacation in September, we still pay full price ($600 for a week)

@cmjenkies - I had norovirus while pregnant with DS. I don’t envy you. The nurse at the hospital (I eventually had to go in for fluids) said that viruses like that are extra hard because our bodies take care of the baby first and the mother second. It blows.

I think it was the beginning of third tri for me - I know it was Easter weekend.
