  • @tosh24 Ah yay for a great NT! That’s amazing. Also I have the same question about feeling human again. I’m hoping by that magical 14 week mark. I’ll cross my fingers for both of us!

  • @julesf817 Last time I somehow had patience and actually waited two weeks until my appointment with my OB to find out my NIPT results. This time I had none and called the nurses like every day started at day 6 until they were in!

  • 1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 12w4d - baby is measuring 5 days ahead

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?  I have good days and not so good days. 24/7 sickness is lessening but I'm SO TIRED

    3. Any appointment updates? I've been going weekly since I'm high risk and I get ultrasounds at every appt. Last week Doc said he feels comfortable seeing me in 4 weeks so I go back on 7/17

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?

    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I'm an HR coordinator in the aviation staffing industry. I'm also a foster mom.

  • @jess5263 - I'm glad you had a good U/S. I definitely have ups and downs.  I get it. We are OAD so I think I'm going to start trying to enjoy every day.
  • 1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
Ten weeks and baby is the size of a cardinal tetra fish!

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Still nauseous, exhausted, and can’t sleep!  Mentally I’m a mess.  As soon as I feel like things are ok the worry starts to creep in.  I’ve used my Doppler everyday multiple times a day since I first found the heartbeat.

    3. Any appointment updates?
I’m seeing my surgeon for the first time Friday and hopefully I can get my gallbladder surgery scheduled as early in second tri as possible!  My next OB appointment is the third.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Nothing at the moment!

    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I am a SAHM currently! I have a bachelors in studio art with a concentration in painting and photography.  I also have an esthetician license.  I always thought I would get my masters in teaching and be an art teacher but never could go through with it! Still might but I always get cold feet since I’ve alrady wasted so much time in schooling that I don’t use.  Before I had my son I was working as a nanny and loved it!  I wanted to be a mom so badly and it filled that void just a little bit.  I do love being a SAHM I couldn’t imagine leaving my baby with anyone else during the day! I get bored sometimes but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
  • PGAL brain today. I think I need some Monistat, but I'm afraid to take it because my 2nd pregnancy stopped developing at the same time that I took it. I'll probably just suffer for a few more weeks.

  • @kns1988 PGAL brain is the worst! I’m sorry. I had to take it with DD starting around week 31 until the end of my pregnancy.

  • @Kabazaba oh my gosh I think about what I ate and whether it affected the baby too! I had fish n chips with tartar sauce yesterday and halfway into the tartar sauce it dawned on me “oh no! Can I eat tartar sauce? Are there raw eggs in it?” And then the food ran thru me an hour later :-/

I’ll let you know know if I find a sleeping situation that works ... I’m just wondering, how bad is it really to sleep on your back? I guess bad enough that say don’t do it after you’re so far along. But how did women do it 1000yrs ago. Did they have pregnancy pillows? Did they just sleep on their backs??

And Ugh politics. I don’t even talk about it. I have quite a few very opinionated friends and I just tune them out. I agree your location (in DC) definitely doesn’t help. I think there’s a way on Facebook to limit what’s/who’s on your feed. If so, it may help?
  • @Kabazaba The NT was great. She was a serious wiggle worm in there and would not stay still! It was so much fun. Also PGAL brain is the worst. I took my last dose of progesterone Saturday night and by Monday I swore I was cramping, cue the freak outs. Big baby girl was still perfect today. Our minds just don’t like to give us a break!

  • @kns1988  I would definitely check with your doctor. I asked the nurse about whether they wanted me to keep taking it (once a week until it was completely empty. I had done the five days already) and she said definitely not during the first trimester. Sorry that your PGAL brain is kicking in.

    1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?

    11 weeks 4 days- a lime!!
    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
I'll feel better mentally after tomorrow's appointment. Physically I've started to have some good days so that helps. I seem to be switching the queasiness for headaches and I'm still super tired.

    3. Any appointment updates?
Tomorrow! They scheduled my 12 week appointment a little early since we are leaving for vacation next week.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant to all the family drama. My niece was visiting last weekend and we found out yesterday that's she's getting over MRSA. A heads up would have been nice. I probably wouldn't have let my dds sleep over with her. I'm not really sure while my mil waited until yesterday to tell us either. Hopefully no one else will get it.

    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I majored in History in college. Went to grad school for a month before I dropped out. Eventually went back to school to get my teaching license but got pregnant with DD1 before I found a job. So now I'm staying home with both my DDs and own my own clothing boutique business. Haha. Maybe one day I'll use my History degree but I'm happy with where I'm at right now.

  • @featherchicki I have a wedge that helps me sleep slightly propped up so it’s not quite as bad to sleep on your back that way!  Once I was farther along with my son I wouldn’t be able to breathe if I was flat on my back!

  • @kns1988
I've tried that before too. Never had much luck but it doesn't keep me from trying the next time. Sorry you're having to deal with something that triggers PGAL brain. Our minds can be so mean to us sometimes.

  • I've been MIA because I think I'm getting a summer cold or something. I stayed home yesterday and slept most of the day. I have that weird burning behind the eyes like I'm getting a fever and a wicked headache and post nasal drainage. I'm miserable. Ugh.

I'm glad to see so many good updates. And PGAL is the WORST. My RE told me to relax and I'm like "yeah, sure."

  • 1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? I’m 10 weeks and a day. Baby is itty bitty, but my belly is poking out! I already look like I’m 16 weeks pregnant (which helps with PGAL brain).

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I’m feeling very emotional and down thanks to the news. It’s been a rough week. I’m still hungry all the time, but I think the nausea is gone.

    3. Any appointment updates?
    Next appointment in 6 days!

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m just feeling so down and have been miserable for weeks now. I’m hating pregnancy and it makes me feel so guilty. Deep down I know it will get better once my energy is back, but right now it’s tough. I can’t even get excited about the baby until I’m further along! I can’t get excited about anything right now tbh. My pregnancy with my daughter was rough because of a previous MC, but there was also so much excitement and anticipation about having a baby for the first time. Sigh. I need to get out of this funk!

    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I’m a SAHM who also works part time from home. My husband started a business while we were dating and I worked there full time until my daughter was born. It’s nice to control our own destiny in a sense.
  • A friend of mine offered me her friends and family discount for Graco and we got our carseats for $100 cheaper and now I'm having all the anxiety .

  • 1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
    10w1d a tart kumquat?
    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
mentally I'm getting better, I was 10w1d when I miscarried and the day is almost over  yay! Its nice to have the symptoms as reassurance but dang I'm in bed laying down already. The exhaustion and nauseousness are rough.
    3. Any appointment updates?
July 10 I go for my first trimester screen and consult with MFM. Excited and nervous .. hope I see a beautiful little baby with a heartbeat.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
ugh, my patience is gone when it comes to other peoples bull crap and I don't seem to give a crap what comes out of my mouth or who I tick off... that's so not me lol I usually just try to avoid confrontation  oh well
    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I am an administrative assistant, i enjoy it very much because i work for family and my girls come with me. Its very flexible especially during slow season. I've always been in customer service so it feels nice and comfy
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I am so embarrassingly late on this! I started this post on Friday and then never got back on the computer over the weekend. I'll do my check-in when the new one is up.

@ladystout08 Glad your US went well!! That's a really good deal on Graco carseats, although I can empathize with the anxiety. We've already bought baby's crib and changing table dresser thanks to a sale at Target last week. My rationale is that we are going to have a second baby no matter what... also, it was just too good a deal to pass up.

@BitterBetty12 Man, I've been the worst Bump friend this week. Congrats on team girl and for awesome NIPT and NT scan results!!! Also happy birthday and big hugs to DD! I cannot believe she's 1 already! (But that's also probably okay considering her little sister will be arriving in 6 short months!)

@tosh24 Yay for an awesome NT scan! Sounds like you'll have a very active LO on your hands! Hopefully you'll feel better starting second tri.

@galactickates That picture is hilarious! :D

@kns1988 Sorry about DS's HFM! I understand the fear of using Monistat. I started spotting when I used it during my 1st pregnancy, which led to the discovery of my MMC. I know Monistat didn't cause the loss, but I am still very leery of ever needing to use it while pregnant. Hopefully it clears up on its own!

@KariAnn323 Congrats on great NIPT results and being on team pink!

@LCRbelle Hoping you can get your surgery scheduled soon! One less thing to worry about once that's over. :)

@brookestuh I was in a funk too about this pregnancy for quite a while. I had a loss prior to conceiving my daughter so being pregnant with her also seemed more exciting because she would be our first take-home baby. I finally became excited about this pregnancy after a good NT scan, though I get anxious as the next appt looms. I hope your energy comes back soon, as that also helped me get out of my funk. First trimester is so rough, especially with PgAL emotions on top of it. :/

@missamiissssaa Yay for making it past the loss date! Hope you have a get to see a happy, healthy LO at your next appt.
  • @dubcompanion surgeon says he won’t operate on me while pregnant! I understand but tired of being in pain!  Since I’ve only had one REALLY bad attack and several small ones he said the risk isn’t worth it in his opinion. So super low-fat diet for the foreseeable future it is!
  • @LCRbelle Uuuuuuugh, that's no fun. I get the surgeon's reasoning, but it sucks you have to ride out the pain. I truly hope pregnancy doesn't exacerbate symptoms or bring on more attacks. My H had to have his removed (incidentally the day after my D&C), so I understand how miserable someone is with a malfunctioning gallbladder.
  • @AmandaV88 History major over here, too! And not using my degree currently either, haha. Maybe one day...

I've enjoyed reading about everyone's professions. I think it's awesome how many different things we are able to as mothers today. It wasn't that long ago that all of our answers would have been homemaker, because there just weren't other opportunities for women. And of course, I don't mean to say that being a homemaker, or SAHM in today's lingo, isn't just as respectable an opportunity. I was at home with DS for 3 years before I started at my current job, and I can personally attest to how difficult and undervalued that job can be.

Yay for all the positive updates as well - and it seems like most of us are turning the corner with symptoms. I wanted to respond to everyone, but I'm on the app right now, so no go. Just glad to see everyone here!

    1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
    12+6

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Symptoms are slowly getting better. Still really nauseous in the evenings. Mentally, I'm starting to get excited about this pregnancy now and feel better overall.

    3. Any appointment updates?
No. I go for NIPT on Friday.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Not today.

    5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
Medical scribe. I really enjoy the work, but the pay sucks balls. And no benefits, so yeah. I also do some freelance closed captioning and transcription from home, but not really breaking the bank there either. I have two B.S. degrees - one in history and one in forensic anthropology. I plan on grad school one day, but not in any hurry.
  • @dubcompanion the surgeon said it does make it act up more probably the amped up hormones! He said after I have the baby it may not even bother me anymore but I’ll still need it out. Oh well!
  • @dubcompanion You’re totally not a bad bump friend. Life is crazy. I haven’t been on since before you posted that! Chasing a toddler around + all the feels of pregnancy makes it tough to keep up. But seriously how are our babies so grown up now?!
