2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
The same, sore boobs, f-ing tired, nauseous if I don't eat every two hours.
3. Any appointment updates?
Had an ultrasound Tues. and all looks good. I see my OB next week and have my NIPT draw.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm up to my eyeballs at work. Blah.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I work in IT for the government, specifically I'm a Linux server engineer. I don't hate it but it's not my ideal career.

2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally AMAZING because our NIPT came back low risk!! I’m so relieved. Also we’re team girl again! Though as always PGAL brain doesn’t really give you a break because I have some kind weird concern that the nurse didn’t realize she was just reading me DDs NIPT results from a year and a half ago and this one isn’t actually in yet. Physically I am FINALLY almost feeling better. Each day my nausea and gagging let’s up. Though I’ve thrown up a bit more recently. I have a decent amount of energy back.
3. Any appointment updates? NT is tomorrow. Praying there is still a bouncing baby growing in there and that everything looks as it should. I think then I will really be able to let out a sigh of relief and buckle down for Second tri.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? None! Just been super busy with the last week of school and DDs birthday and so not as active as I would have liked. But now that I’m on summer break I should get back into the swing of things.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I’m a high school math teacher. I teach mostly honors classes and then I teach some strategies classes for students who struggle with math - so kind of both ends of the spectrum. I really enjoy my job and the work life balance it allows.

@BitterBetty12 Yay for good NIPT results!!!!!! And congrats on expecting another DD! GL at your NT scan tomorrow
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 12+2; plum
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically, like shit still. Mentally, I'm doing better but I've come to accept that I will always be anxious about something.
3. Any appointment updates? Had my NT scan today! Tech said everything was normal. NT measurement was 1.5 mm. Baby is measuring 2 days ahead at 12+4 so growth is good. She didn't listen to the HB but I don't know if she got it via u/s. I was bummed about that. Saw baby sucking its thumb! Not surprised that I have a 3rd thumb sucker. Baby was being very stubborn and the tech made me get up and wiggle and jump to get it to change positions LOL. Appointment with my GP in 2 weeks I think and then 1st OB appt. on July 31st.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? When will I start to feel human again!?!?
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I am a wildlife biologist. I love the cool field work part of the job but I work for the government which also comes with a bunch of politics and paperwork which sucks. I knew what my career was going to be at 6 years old! If you wanted to find me on any given day, I was collecting stuff in the creek, picking up bugs, and climbing trees.

My neck is still sore, which sucks. I don't get as tired anymore and nausea is pretty much gone. Over all feeling better. Getting more and more excited. I can't wait to feel movement even though it's still a few weeks off. I still worry he's ok but I had a talk with my husband and it made me feel better. The TL:DR version is he was saying let's not worry about something that might not happen, and if it does we'll deal with it, but until then let's enjoy what we are experiencing now. Also after everything that happened with my ectopic.. I think I should be done with all the bad stuff. I'm giving myself a pass and to start enjoying this pregnancy.
No, I wish. Not until July 5th. And no scan even then. Not until 20 weeks
I'm excited we're having a boy. I've been having a lot of fun. My H has been reading books which I find very sweet. He sent me the funniest picture out of one yesterday.
AR/AP - finance. It's ok. It's nice to know what i'm doing every day, I have lots of flexibility but it's not my passion.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 10 weeks, raspberry I think
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically, depends on the day. I was so nauseous yesterday, but I feel okay today. Mentally, a little worried. I want to keep using my doppler, but DH doesn't think it's good to use it too often.
3. Any appointment updates? 3 weeks away
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a hell of a morning. DS was turned away at daycare because of a rash that popped up out of nowhere, so we went to the doctor, and they cleared him to go back. I was an hour and a half late to work. HFM was going around daycare, and the doc said he probably had a mild case and this was the tail end of it.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? Interface analyst. I do enjoy it. It's challenging and pays well, but I wish I could be outside more!

2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Physically I’m feeling a bit better. Still getting hit with the fatigue. Not feeling nauseous very much anymore, which is nice. Mentally I’m ok. I’m going to visit my parents tomorrow and plan to tell them. My Mom was over the top emotional last time and this time I just don’t want to deal with that. I feel bad because i know she’s just excited, but i just can’t.
3. Any appointment updates?
My next appointment is on the 2nd.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Waiting on the NIPT results. They said 7-10 and it’s been 9 so I’m hoping for a call today. I might even call to check in.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I teach dog obedience classes. It’s great. I mean I get paid to pet puppies. It’s also challenging dealing with different people, and teaching the same curriculum 7 days a week on repeat is getting a little monotonous. I’m hoping to branch out and do private lessons after the baby.

2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I have good days and not so good days. 24/7 sickness is lessening but I'm SO TIRED
3. Any appointment updates? I've been going weekly since I'm high risk and I get ultrasounds at every appt. Last week Doc said he feels comfortable seeing me in 4 weeks so I go back on 7/17
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I'm an HR coordinator in the aviation staffing industry. I'm also a foster mom.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 9 weeks -- we're the young'uns around these parts
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically, so-so. Still nauseous but good at managing it now. DH is finally on board and helping me with snacks and cravings, ha. Sore, tired, etc. Mentally... still not all the way confident. Next appt will be NIPT blood draw next week, then results! Fingers crossed. I went ahead and bought cards and gifts for the grandparents so we can tell them after that... it feels like a jinx. I hate that I feel that way.
3. Any appointment updates? None for a couple more weeks (NIPT) and then again at the first of August.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? One boob is a lot larger than the other. This is interesting. Also doing some sort of "maternity" thing through my insurance and they're all aflutter about all of my "high risk" stuff -- blood pressure, thyroid, anxiety, kidney disease, prior loss, age, etc etc etc. It was weird for me to be the one reassuring them that everything was going to be fine.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I'm a marketing data software expert -- a weird fell-into-this-career kind of thing. So, I project manage a data extract team for marketing data at a large healthcare company and work from home. It's kind of cool most days. I used to be in the advertising agency world and it was *exhausting*! Left that to go client-side at a local healthcare company on their digital marketing team, then started working with this software when they implemented it (IBM Marketing Cloud, Watson). Switched to my current job with another healthcare company a few months ago. Did I mention working at home all day in your PJs is pretty great? My husband also works in software/data, so we have lots of long talks about data at our house
Andrea -- FTM at 39!
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Pretty good physically just tired and still having food aversions. Mentally pretty good as well. We got our NIPT results yesterday and everything is low risk. And we’re team pink! Still a little nervous though. I think I’ll feel better after hearing/seeing a heartbeat tomorrow
3. Any appointment updates? Well woman visit with the NP tomorrow including a Doppler to hear her heartbeat. If she can’t find it using the Doppler then they have a mini ultrasound they can use to check.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m so excited to be having a little girl. Obviously having a healthy take home baby is what matters the most. We’ll be naming her after my grandma who passed away last year though so it’s very special for us. I wish she could be here to experience this so much. We did call her sister yesterday to tell her the news and she was thrilled and telling us how happy my grandma would have been. We’re keeping the name a secret until she’s born though.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I provide executive support. I love it. I really like how I can work in a variety of industries. I’ve previously worked for a university and I currently work for an aerospace engineering firm. I enjoy helping people and being that person in the background who makes everything work.

@BitterBetty12 That's great news for low risk and congrats on another DD! I feel you on the PGAL brain, I've been all over the place! Good luck on the NT scan.
@tosh24 Congrats on a good NT scan! Sorry you're still feeling so bad. Hopefully it will ease up soon but then decreasing symptoms triggers the PGAL brain if you're anything like me! LOL.
@galactickates Congrats on your DS! I'm trying to live in the "today I'm pregnant" mindset, but it's so hard sometimes right!?! Hoping the 2nd tri brings a little relief for all of us!
@kns1988 What a morning!
@julesf817 Hope the nurse calls you back soon with great results!!
@klj62212 Hopefully that 2nd tri energy boost that I've heard about will kick in soon!
@wkuandrea GL with upcoming NIPT!
@KariAnn323 Congrats on your DD!
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
11 weeks tomorrow.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Mentally, better today. Had my first nurse visit yesterday and thought she would use a doppler to listen for heart beat but she doesn't do that. Had a mini breakdown with her because it felt like all of my symptoms including sore boobs and nausea/vomiting had disappeared over the last 2 days. She gave me a hug and set me up for an US today. Of course last night I started throwing up again and tender breasts were back today. YAY for symptoms! LOL.
3. Any appointment updates?
Had my US this morning and everything looked great. Little one was posing with it's hand on it's head and had a good heartbeat of 173. Have first OB appt next Thursday. Hopefully he will schedule my NT scan and NIPT labs then.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Thankful for a super sweet nurse that didn't blow off my feelings!
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I am an RN and work on a progressive care unit in the hospital. Most days I really enjoy it!
Ten weeks and baby is the size of a cardinal tetra fish!
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Still nauseous, exhausted, and can’t sleep! Mentally I’m a mess. As soon as I feel like things are ok the worry starts to creep in. I’ve used my Doppler everyday multiple times a day since I first found the heartbeat.
3. Any appointment updates?
I’m seeing my surgeon for the first time Friday and hopefully I can get my gallbladder surgery scheduled as early in second tri as possible! My next OB appointment is the third.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing at the moment!
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I am a SAHM currently! I have a bachelors in studio art with a concentration in painting and photography. I also have an esthetician license. I always thought I would get my masters in teaching and be an art teacher but never could go through with it! Still might but I always get cold feet since I’ve alrady wasted so much time in schooling that I don’t use. Before I had my son I was working as a nanny and loved it! I wanted to be a mom so badly and it filled that void just a little bit. I do love being a SAHM I couldn’t imagine leaving my baby with anyone else during the day! I get bored sometimes but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
@BitterBetty12 congrats on your DD! Praying for good NT!
@tosh24 your job sounds amazing! Can I live vicariously through you??
@galactickates I can’t wait to feel movements either!!
@kns1988 what a blessing to have a job you enjoy that pays well! I also wish I spent more time outside.
@julesf817 I hope they called you back today! I’d be on pins and needles!!
@klj62212 Congrats on the good doc report!!!
@wkuandrea totally not a jinx!
@KariAnn323 congrats on your DD! I think it’s sweet your naming her after your grandmother.
@jess5263 hooray for a super sweet nurse and a great US!
@LCRbelle I hope you’ll feel better after your surgery!
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
12w and a plum!
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Tired. Emotional rollercoaster (thank you hormones!)
3. Any appointment updates?
NIPT draw was on Monday. Can’t wait for the results!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sleep on my side starting in a couple weeks when I start my 2nd tri. I’m a back sleeper and I do often roll to my side during the night but I usually get uncomfortable after a while and have to go back to my back.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I work for a pharmacy benefit management company, and I am a sales/account services director responsible for our business relationship with a large health insurance company. Been in this industry 11 years. Job pays well but can be tiresome. Especially the travel. I’m trying to get back home today but plane has maintenance issues, one less tank to use for fuel, so instead of a nonstop flight home, we have to stop over in Chicago to refuel. I was supposed to land at 9:15pm back home. Now it’s estimated 12:42am because of the maintenance delay and pit stop. *sighs*

@bitterbetty12 - FX for a fun NT with a bouncy baby girl
Seems like there aren’t too many of us on team-girl yet.
@tosh24 - Congrats on the good NT scan and UM your job sounds amazing! I know red tape can be annoying but I feel like you have one of those jobs so many people when they’re kids want to do. It just *sounds* so fun.
@jess5263 - PGAL is the worst. I’m glad your nurse was understanding and set you up with an u/s this morning!
@featherchicki - Side sleeping is a true struggle. I’m another back sleeper, and bought a special pillow and everything and just cannot make side-sleeping feel comfortable all night long. /grumblegrumble Let me know if you find a trick.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 12 + 4 today, Embry is as long as a kit kat (… and now I want chocolate, thanks TB).
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I had food poisoning earlier this week and lost 5 pounds in 1 day (obviously all water weight). I am now back to base-pregnancy nausea, but the food aversions are real. Nothing looks good, which I guess means I might as well stick to kale right? Mentally very excited to be past my prior loss, and have had 3 successful (as in finding a HB and baby) u/s and the genetic results back; but there’s always something to worry about, right? (Why wasn’t she moving really at all in the last u/s, why am I cramping right now, what if I haven’t been eating too much pizza and it’s effected her heart/lung/brain/foot development?)
3. Any appointment updates? Nothing for a month!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: DH was super sweet when I was sick. Officially moved from my OB to a midwife group, which I am VERY excited about. I already feel after the first appointment like I’m armed with way more knowledge than my doctor was giving me, and better equipped to help manage my own health in consultation with their expertise. Rant: Politics are killing me, generally all the time, but especially this and last week. And it doesn’t help that I live in DC, and all my FB friends are either hippies I grew up with (doing protests regularly) or friends from law school (posting their impressions of Kennedy etc). I cannot get away from it, and it is such a negative imposing presence in my life.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I’m a lawyer (family law). I’m in court a lot, which I love. I love the small firm I’m at, and the people and support I get here. But, it is a weird profession to have when going through pregnancy and my mc.
I’ll let you know know if I find a sleeping situation that works ... I’m just wondering, how bad is it really to sleep on your back? I guess bad enough that say don’t do it after you’re so far along. But how did women do it 1000yrs ago. Did they have pregnancy pillows? Did they just sleep on their backs??
And Ugh politics. I don’t even talk about it. I have quite a few very opinionated friends and I just tune them out. I agree your location (in DC) definitely doesn’t help. I think there’s a way on Facebook to limit what’s/who’s on your feed. If so, it may help?

1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
11 weeks 4 days- a lime!!
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
I'll feel better mentally after tomorrow's appointment. Physically I've started to have some good days so that helps. I seem to be switching the queasiness for headaches and I'm still super tired.
3. Any appointment updates?
Tomorrow! They scheduled my 12 week appointment a little early since we are leaving for vacation next week.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant to all the family drama. My niece was visiting last weekend and we found out yesterday that's she's getting over MRSA. A heads up would have been nice. I probably wouldn't have let my dds sleep over with her. I'm not really sure while my mil waited until yesterday to tell us either. Hopefully no one else will get it.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I majored in History in college. Went to grad school for a month before I dropped out. Eventually went back to school to get my teaching license but got pregnant with DD1 before I found a job. So now I'm staying home with both my DDs and own my own clothing boutique business. Haha. Maybe one day I'll use my History degree but I'm happy with where I'm at right now.

2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I’m feeling very emotional and down thanks to the news. It’s been a rough week. I’m still hungry all the time, but I think the nausea is gone.
3. Any appointment updates? Next appointment in 6 days!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m just feeling so down and have been miserable for weeks now. I’m hating pregnancy and it makes me feel so guilty. Deep down I know it will get better once my energy is back, but right now it’s tough. I can’t even get excited about the baby until I’m further along! I can’t get excited about anything right now tbh. My pregnancy with my daughter was rough because of a previous MC, but there was also so much excitement and anticipation about having a baby for the first time. Sigh. I need to get out of this funk!
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it? I’m a SAHM who also works part time from home. My husband started a business while we were dating and I worked there full time until my daughter was born. It’s nice to control our own destiny in a sense.

mentally I'm getting better, I was 10w1d when I miscarried and the day is almost over yay! Its nice to have the symptoms as reassurance but dang I'm in bed laying down already. The exhaustion and nauseousness are rough.
3. Any appointment updates?
July 10 I go for my first trimester screen and consult with MFM. Excited and nervous .. hope I see a beautiful little baby with a heartbeat.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
ugh, my patience is gone when it comes to other peoples bull crap and I don't seem to give a crap what comes out of my mouth or who I tick off... that's so not me lol I usually just try to avoid confrontation oh well
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
I am an administrative assistant, i enjoy it very much because i work for family and my girls come with me. Its very flexible especially during slow season. I've always been in customer service so it feels nice and comfy
I've enjoyed reading about everyone's professions. I think it's awesome how many different things we are able to as mothers today. It wasn't that long ago that all of our answers would have been homemaker, because there just weren't other opportunities for women. And of course, I don't mean to say that being a homemaker, or SAHM in today's lingo, isn't just as respectable an opportunity. I was at home with DS for 3 years before I started at my current job, and I can personally attest to how difficult and undervalued that job can be.
Yay for all the positive updates as well - and it seems like most of us are turning the corner with symptoms. I wanted to respond to everyone, but I'm on the app right now, so no go. Just glad to see everyone here!
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
12+6
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Symptoms are slowly getting better. Still really nauseous in the evenings. Mentally, I'm starting to get excited about this pregnancy now and feel better overall.
3. Any appointment updates?
No. I go for NIPT on Friday.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not today.
5. GTKY: What is your profession? Do you enjoy it?
Medical scribe. I really enjoy the work, but the pay sucks balls. And no benefits, so yeah. I also do some freelance closed captioning and transcription from home, but not really breaking the bank there either. I have two B.S. degrees - one in history and one in forensic anthropology. I plan on grad school one day, but not in any hurry.
