@drewsdarlin glad you found a more supportive therapist. The last one sounds like they were in the wrong profession. Wow!
AFM: Just finished hysteroscopy and bloodwork yesterday. The hysteroscopy found some scare tissue they took care of. The bloodwork will be back in up to 10 days. Clinic called today to see if I want to be on the July transfer schedule, so playing phone tag with them to work out the details...it may depend on my blood results though.

I just want to thank you all so much for your support. It really means so much to me, every time we go through this, to know that I can lean on you.
@ChristenMA83 How was your hysteroscopy and blood draw? Any results yet? (ETA You posted while I was writing. Glad they took care of that scar tissue. Hope it helps!)
@emmasemm My understanding is that he’s concerned now about underlying uterine abnormalities, even though all of my HSGs and SHGs and whatnot have come back normal. Taking a deeper dive, I guess. Specifically now he’s looking for endometritis, which he says is maybe a 1-2% chance since I have no risk factors for it nor symptoms. I’d never even heard of it before and initially thought he meant endometriosis.
I am SO HAPPY to hear your little embie made it to freeze! I know it’s not a full three days—when it’s time to transfer will they thaw and let it grow a bit more? Also did you say the embryologist was taken ill?! I am so sorry your cycle was so stressful! I hope the next one is much smoother! Any word on if you can proceed?
@funkykey Thank you so much, friend. I feel like we’re going to get our sticky beans together because it’s like we go back and forth and inevitably end up cycling at the same time. I truly hope so!!
We have 3 left at this clinic and one at our previous clinic (which we’re applying to transfer and which won’t get tested because transferring can take up to 3 months). We have a meeting with the genetic counselor on Tuesday so we can be ready to go when the lab reopens in July. Hopefully we’ll get the results that month or early August in time to hopefully cycle in August.
My RE said the same thing about the rounds with abnormal embryos. Sometimes the whole batch is a bust and then you do another round and they’re mostly good. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I really hope you get some answers from the PGS testing!
@drewsdarlin I think it’s wonderful how your current therapist is supporting your connection to your babies and acknowledging your pain to help you heal. Your first therapist sounds horrible! I am so sorry she treated you like that. Good luck with your wait and FX!
@kristimh80 I’ve been wondering what’s been going on! When do you get your ERA results?
*TW* pregnancy and loss
AFM I saw my RE on Monday and he doesn’t think it’s ectopic—yay, I can keep my tube—but he can’t be entirely sure because it’s still early. We saw a black blob in the uterus, which he said could be the sac resulting from an abnormally implanted embryo or just as easily be a blood vessel. My beta continues to rise at an excruciatingly slow pace. I’m pretty sure we’re just waiting for me to miscarry, but he hasn’t said that—although he now only refers to it as an abnormally implanted embryo. Back tomorrow for another u/s and more blood work.
In the meantime, I got the ball rolling on all of the tasks he gave us related to PGS testing, and transferring our first embryo from the old clinic.
QOTW: Grilled cheese for me, too!

@Bababatty
So sorry for all that you're going through. I hope that whatever the result, it happens sooner rather than later so that your pain and waiting isn't drawn out any longer.
@mirabelle33
that's so much for you to have to take in all at once. wow. sorry that you have to wait for their office to have their conference in order to know your next steps, but at least they didn't like JUST have it and you'd be waiting a whole month! and it gives you a little time to process/research. I don't know a lot about Low AMH but there's a really active thread for Low AMH in the Infertility board in case you're interested.
AFM just proceeding as though we'll be starting stims next week... we'll see! DH is on "skeptic island" as he called it - just trying to process his feelings about IVF before we fully commit.

@Bababatty - my H and I had a (longer than I liked) talk about probability and randomness last night. We are getting deep into the odds talks about IVF and embryo transfers. We were initially told that, at our clinic, about 62% of the FETs are successful for women my age. So DH figured we had about a 60% chance with each FET.
(We've also spent a lot of time with this calculator: https://w3.abdn.ac.uk/clsm/opis )
But I keep wondering if those numbers actually apply to me. Like, I get it - those are the overall, average numbers. But whatever is causing our IF feels insidious. IVF is a great treatment for a lot of people, and really works if you have a number of conditions. But if the issue is that you cannot produce viable embryos, it's no help, you know?
(DH is convinced that we will produce normal embryos. He's convinced that our fourth embryo is normal. He thinks this is "just his luck". In some ways, DH and I were born under lucky stars, but in some ways, we most definitely were not!)
Anyway, I'm really curious about your test results, and keeping FX that your meeting with the genetic counselor is informative. I hope you have a batch of all good ones!
I have also never heard of endometritis. But I have recently heard a few stories of women with infections that they had very few symptoms for, so you never know. Totally different, but a woman I know had no pain or burning when urinating, nor did she feel a need to pee, and then one day totally lost control of her bladder. Turns out she'd had a bladder infection that presented no symptoms until it was quite far gone.
Also, I'm glad your pregnancy was not ectopic, but I'm also sorry that your beta numbers are inconclusive. Obviously, I'm hoping this embie is miraculous and somehow recovers, but I know that's unlikely. Preparing for the future is what I'd do too.
@mirabelle33 - Wow, that is a lot to take in. I'm so sorry. And that is a long wait - I think at my clinic, the doctors meet like once a day to discuss patients. Once a month plus a whole month off? Some things are not better in Europe!
Anyway, keeping FX that the next month goes quickly, your meetings in July are smooth, and the time passes quickly during the wait to cycle!
@wishing-and-hoping - ooh, stimming! It will go by so fast! FX!!!
AFM: Not much new here. Still mentally and financially preparing.
QOTW: I do love a grilled cheese, but then sometimes I'm in the mood for cucumber and cream cheese, or a veggie sandwich. And now that it's summer, we've had a few more hamburgers. I know that's not a traditional "sandwich", but on a summer evening, it's pretty nice to have a sandwich fresh off the grill.
@funkykey I’m hoping the weeks will fly by and September will be here before you know it. We have most cycles another discussion about odds and how they apply to us. We often feel like if there is something that happens to 1 in 1000, then we are that 1...
@wishing-and-hoping hope your DH gets on the boat to “I’m fully supporting IVF” land soon! Once you’re started then you just get so in the rhythm that any previous thoughts of if it’s right or not should be forgotten
@mirabelle33 wow that’s quite a week, no wonder you needed to think on it a while. Did they also test your vitamin D levels? If it’s too low it can impair AMH and make it look falsely low. Your FSH is definitely a bit higher than you would like - but was it a true day 3? It’s also not crazy high. And you AFC and response sound quite good in general. Still in the average range at least. But getting an early lead follicle is one sign of potential DOR as your body not only pumps more FSH out but also earlier in the cycle. So the picture doesn’t fully match up.
I was only advised to have surgery after we’ve finished egg retrievals and banking embryos. There’s always a risk with surgery that ovaries might be damaged.
@bababatty so so sorry Your limbo continues. Hope the follow up showed the progress you want and need.
It’s good you have the tasks to do to help feel like you’re moving forward.
AFM well we did a CD2 baseline, which was totally crazy.
Right ovary showed no change to two weeks ago so we think it doesn’t actually really respond at all. Left ovary was hiding. Then when they found it there was nothing showing on it and they weren’t even sure it was an ovary or maybe thought it was a myoma. It took three OBs and they still weren’t sure... But I have lots of scan pictures of gray blobs. Then my lining was once again not clearing properly, probably the polyp from last cycle still lurking. But with no follicles I expected them to cancel this cycle.
Then the lab called to check some things from my BW. Then they rang again because they wanted to check again. My progesterone was literally undetectable, whilst it shouldn’t be high it should be higher so we definitely have a problem there to deal with when we eventually get to transfer. My estrogen was 19, which is ok for CD2. My LH was borderline LP/FP which indicated I was more early CD2 than later. And then my FSH was under 4!!!!! I have never seen my FSH below 14 before. I wasn’t sure what the clinic would make if it - but it turns out they were super happy! They hope the priming has worked better this time, that the first FSH my ovaries will be exposed to will be the stims and that this is our best chance to get a bumper crop. But! There is a risk my ovaries don’t wake up properly this month as they are so deep in slumber...
So we have monitoring on Monday and see whether we proceed or not depending on follicles appearing and change in E2...
