This thread is a check in for those of us who have dealt with infertility or secondary infertility. I actually couldn’t find a model for this thread, so forgive me if I’m missing anything or the set up is off.
How far along are you?
What symptoms are you having?
What was your IF experience like?
Rant/Rave/Question:
GTKY: What have you read/watched lately that you’ve loved?
What symptoms are you having? Nausea has started, which is both deeply comforting and unpleasant. Otherwise dealing with fatigue, bloating, and insomnia.
What was your IF experience like? I’m 37, so MH and I started IF testing after ttc for 6 months. All tests were fine and we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility in October. We did three back to back IUIs, all of which failed, and then took a few months break. Our fourth IUI in late May was successful. We’re still in shock.
Rant/Rave/Question: I’m flying to visit family today and worried about nausea on the flight. FX all goes well.
GTKY: What have you read/watched lately that you’ve loved? I’m rereading Fahrenheit 451 before I watch the new hbo adaptation and loving it even more than when I last read it a decade or so ago.
symptoms come and go, but exhaustion seems to stick around. I have had a lot of nausea, and food/smell aversions. Burping a lot too! Some mild cramping. Lots of weird, vivid dreams. Bloating, to the point that my pants aren’t fitting. My dr said it’s most likely because I am taking extra progesterone and it relaxes your stomach muscles!?
My husband and I have been together for almost 11 years, married for a little over two. I always wanted kids but waited til we got married and we were ready, to start trying. After two years of trying with no luck, I honestly was thinking it would never happen, I started to give up. It was my lowest month as far as keeping my spirits high, and I went in for a beta test at 4w 1d. (We had done our third iui with Clomid) and for the first time, I didn’t think there was any chance I could be pregnant, just too many disappointments, didn’t seem possible. When I got the call from my fertility clinic saying they had good news I lost it! Lol the lady said “should I call back in a few minutes” it took a couple weeks for the shock to simmer down. Going to the first ultrasound I still didn’t think it was real, I was terrified that the doc would give me bad news. She asked me how old I was (34) and said oh I would have guessed 37. I immediately thought something was wrong and then she said it’s twins! Wth!? That’s how I found out lol my husband and I are very excited now and I just pray everything works out, and we have healthy babies. (Sorry for the novel)
@darkstar42 I found sour gummies have helped me so far! And i know you probably don't want to take in anymore food or liquids while feeling gross already but drinking lemon water every time I started feeling bad has helped as well. But I do have lot of aversions when I think of certain foods... Even ones I used to love sigh
We have been dealing with infertility for over 5 years so this is all very surreal for me. Did countless IUIs then 4 rounds of ivf and finally had a tested embryo to implant. Now at 7 weeks exactly. Just taking it all in with cautious optimism. I hope everything works out. Fingers crossed.
Lurking in here. @darkstar42 I loved Fahrenheit 451 and was super excited when I seen HBO was making an adaptation of it. I should re-read it before. That's such a great idea since it's been so long.
What symptoms are you having? Sore boobs, fatigue, nausea
What was your IF experience like? Got KU with DD on the first try. For this one, it's been 2.5 years of unexplained infertility. It's been an emotional rollercoaster of guilt, doubt, jealousy, depression, anxiety, confusion, frustration, hopelessness, etc. I didn't think IF would be such a mind fuck. Couldn't deal with the fertility clinic, it gave me a nervous break down. Still trying to recoup from the one round of blood work denied twice by insurance. Otherwise I'm very grateful. I'm over the moon to be here, but still so nervous. So anxious.
What symptoms are you having? Slight nausea started yesterday.
What was your IF experience like?
*tw*
We moved to Prague in the Czech Republic for fertility treatments. After 4 rounds of IVF and transfers resulting in one pregnancy that ended in a MMC we moved on to donor eggs. We transferred 2 embryos and had one healthy daughter in January 2017. I returned to Prague at the end of May and transferred one DE embryo and got a positive pregnancy test 5dp5dt. Betas are doubling appropriately!
Rant/Rave/Question: Rant: I’m so over the heat already. Felling nauseous and hot sucks. Rave: we have a new swamp cooler on our house and it works amazingly!!
GTKY: What have you read/watched lately that you’ve loved?
Currently reading His Dark Materials and loving it. FFFC style: I love the Bachelor/bachelorette can’t wait to catch up because I was unable to watch it during my month in Prague

Diagnosed MMC at 9w1d on 11/30/15

DE attempt in Czech Republic!!
March trip to Prague canceled due to Pancreatitis. Headed to Prague April 30 3 different donors resulted in 1 PGS tested embryo and 1 fresh embryo
2 embryo's transferred (from 2 different donors) on 5/10/16 BFP on 5/15/16 at 5dp5dt
Beta 1 = 81 at 8dp5dt, Beta 2 = 295 at 10dp5dt, Beta 3 = 891 at 12dt5dt. Beta 4 = 2114 at 14dp5dt, Beta 5 = 4916 at 16dp5dt, Beta 6 = 13252 at 19dp5dt
What symptoms are you having? MS periodically. Heartburn pretty regularly. Ankles are swollen HUGE.
What was your IF experience like? In one word-Heartbreak. I've been TTC for just shy of four years. This is my 6th pregnancy, with no living babies. Full story is in my siggy, but this pregnancy is a result of my second FET after IVF.
Rant/Rave/Question: Does anyone else still find things triggering? Especially being on this board (after being on TTGP!), sometimes people say things and I want to be snarky and I'm like. Wait. That's acceptable here.
GTKY: What have you read/watched lately that you’ve loved? Sitting still looking at a book makes me nauseous. Which is weird. And sad. Before that hit, I was working my way through the GAR book list. And I am watching Handmaid's Tale. Obviously.

Symptoms: early morning insomnia, frequent trips to the bathroom and some mild cramping
IF Journey: This was our 37th cycle trying with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility and one ectopic last year that was resolved with MTX. We had 6 rounds of IUI, coupled with Clomid and Femara last year with no luck.
I took prednisone 10mg a day during this cycle after reading many studies out of Australia and bam! We got pregnant. Thanking my lucky stars.
Rant/Rave: I used to be able to sleep past sunrise but now it's like the second 5AM hits I'm wide-eyed. Then I crash mid afternoon. Annoying, bearable, but annoying.
GTKY: I'm in the middle of reading two books right now, The Psychedelic Experience, and Walden. I also re-watch episodes of Parks and Rec on the regular because its ah-mazing!
@heybritups I’m also on 10mg of prednisone and have only ever gotten pregnant while taking it. How long will you continue to take it? My last pregnancy I had completely weaned off of it by 32 weeks.

@susykat77 From what I read I can start to wean off (taking 5mg a day) in week 10 then stop completely in week 12. I haven't discussed this with my RE yet because I have a hunch they are going to tell me I don't need it at all - but I'm scared of m/c. What are you planning on doing? I've read such mixed info about taking it during the first tri, but I also see these amazing successes so it's hard to know what to do!
@KristoKekerooni how long do you plan on staying on it this time?
@KristoKekerooni Thanks for saying that about finding things triggering! I’ve been having a hard time with that too. Particularly the thread about how many kids folks want. Hugs.
We have a little bit of a different story. We are pregnant via surrogate because I had to have a hysterectomy due to PPH after my last birth. We then went through 3 failed cycles with our surrogate and are finally expecting twins so it’s been a long road.
intense hunger in the mornings but overall I feel great. With my two DDs I had every symptom. Nausea, vomiting, consultation, fatigue, etc. I am feeling very lucky this time. I was nervous yesterday about my ultrasound but baby was measuring a day ahead and looked perfect.
IF Journey?
We conceived both our daughters very very easily. This time it took about 8 months of trying and then I miscarried at 5.5 weeks. Took another 7+ months plus Clomid for both of us for this baby. Unexplained infertility. We were going to do Clomid and IUI in June but ended up thankfully not needing to. I will say it’s very difficult being a labor and delivery nurse (even with children already at home) dealing with unexplained IF. I know many many people have it way worse than we did but it was trying time and I gained 37# I think from the stress and emotions of trying. I was at a great weight before last year. Prior to ttc, we tried (and failed) to adopt for 2.5 years and we were left very confused and frustrated.
@heybritups , I have no idea! I know that whenever I get off, I will have to wean super, super slow. My lungs just can't handle coming off too fast.
@darkstar42 , I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that! It's so strange to see tings here that are normal that would have made me flip just a couple weeks ago.

@mellie423 SO excited for you!! Congratulations!!
@heybritups I will probably wean the same way I did last time starting around 20ish weeks over a 10 week timeframe. I just keep asking my provider for refills until I could get in with a rheumatologist (which can take forever) because my RE didn’t really think I needed it either. There is a great group on Facebook called reproductive immunology support. It’s a secret group but there is SO much amazing information there.

Hi Ladies- joining you here as as well. I introduced myself in the intro thread and all my details are in my siggy, but cautisouly excited to be here after many years, IVFs, 2 egg donors. We saw 2 sacs and yolk sacs at 5+5. My RE said it was what she would expect, but I was a little worried we didn't see a fetal pole. Hopefully there will be 2 heartbeats when we go back next week. I also have a LARGE SCH so have had some spotting almost everyday for the past week. Anyone else have an SCH?

@JamieH2000 I have seen crazy crazy large SCH’s result in perfect baby’s. We had a girl last year with an insanely large one that shocked us all, baby is 4 months old! And perfect. Sending you positive thoughts!
I'm not an IFer, but I have an SCH - they indicated it's "small" but I have no idea what that really means. I googled, stupidly, and could only find bad outcomes. I ended up talking to my first BMB and to my MW and it's NBD (especially since I haven't had any bleeding). This is my 4th pregnancy in 5 years (and hopefully 3rd baby), but I'm still a mess about it even though it's not a big deal. Fx we both get good outcomes!
@mellie423- thank you for sharing! I do hear lots of positive stories with SCHs, its just SO stressful with the bleeding as you know
@kayjay44- sorry you are dealing with this too! If you haven't had any bleeding yet, hopefully its really small and will resolve itself soon! If you do spot- know that its probably the SCH!

Re: Pregnant After Infertility 6/23
So anxious.
ETA apparently I can't count

Obviously.
Diagnoses: RPL, Endometriosis, MFI (count, morph, DNI, DNAS, multiple bilateral subclinical varicoceles), low progesterone

@KristoKekerooni how long do you plan on staying on it this time?
im 8 weeks and 1 day.
symptoms?
intense hunger in the mornings but overall I feel great.
@darkstar42 , I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that! It's so strange to see tings here that are normal that would have made me flip just a couple weeks ago.
