W.T.F? I mean, I guess I shouldn’t care too much since neither this nor the fruit affect my state, but are there always this many issues and I just don’t know about them normally?
ETA: I should probably say that I do care about you guys and anybody affected by this. I mean that more in the way of I don’t need to worry about these specific recalls.
@purplegoldfish2 I honestly didn't even read the article until your comment. I always see the title and just assume I can't eat that.. glad it's not my state affected either but thinking of the ladies on higher alert!!
@mamabearcj I read them, see it doesn’t affect my state and then still avoid the foods because they’ve been expanding the recalls after they initially put them out. I’m glad to know I probably don’t have to worry about having eaten the foods, but also don’t want to risk it.
BTW, does anybody know if the romaine thing is over yet?
Romaine still stands as a no eat food. Why is my state listed in literally every recall... This, Melons, eggs, chicken salad, beef, romaine, chicken, literally all of them! Wtf!
@purplegoldfish2 - I started eating romaine again when I saw something posted that lettuce from the affected region should no longer be available in stores/restaurants due to shelf life. But yes, the recall is still ongoing.
@jomama1618 I’m in Michigan and we seem to be affected by all of these too ...Why do all of the easy to just buy and eat healthy products need to be affected!?
I did think I read the Romaine was safe now, I will have to check again (I just ate it yesterday so maybe it was wishful thinking??)
I'm eating romaine again, since the growing season is over, and no way people are still selling/serving 2 month old romaine. If they are, they deserve a high five for managing to keep it fresh that long lol.
@krzyriver I REALLY wish I had laughing reaction and not just a love button! And now I want pizza rolls! @spartan4life I'm in Indiana, at least 3 or 4 of the damn recalls started here...from our companies...smh
I feel like nothing is safe! @babyptobe Mama, eat your sub! If you're worried, heat up the meat, and eat on! It's like the only freakin thing not recalled! I've eaten a lunch meat when it sounded like the only thing I could get down. Just heated it like the ob said and was happy. Lol
My SIL called a few days ago telling me not to eat lunch meat. *TW* She works for the CDC and just worked on a case where a woman lost her baby from listeria from lunch meat.*End TW*
That being said, those cases are few and far between. It will not stop me from eating lunch meat, I love it way too much. When discussed with my OB last pregnancy, she just said “make sure you don’t get it from a hole in the wall joint” and I’ve stuck by that.
I avoided lunch meat last time. This time I’ve been enjoy it heated. I actually had an Itailian sub today, but I toasted it. My OB specifically said it’s fine if you heat it until it steams.

Pizza rolls are my everything. Don't have any in the house but I think I'll just have to bake up a frozen pizza for dinner tonight.
Safety first!
@nikimelon When pregnant, they’re the ONLY thing that is ALWAYS in the house. No shame!
