Selfishly created. H has been the TW recently. 1) Last night as I was dozing off on the couch i hear him make a bunch of noise in the kitchen (slamming doors, walking super heavy, etc) i wake up and look at the monitor only to see DS is waking up or not yet asleep (it’s 9pm kid!). So i nicely REMIND H to not make so much noice because the kitchen shared a wall with DS room where his bed is. He snaps and says “yes i know you’ve told me”. Um ok so why don’t you stop making so much noise if you already know?!?! 2) also I’ve been reminding him to clean the litter since the weekend. Has he done it, no. Is the cat complaining, yes. Can i smell it at night since it’s in my bedroom, yes. Looks like I’ll be cleaning it. Then he’ll get mad and say i have no patience. Ok whatever.
@wildtot last night I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to my husband making popcorn so loudly, I thought our house was being attacked when he was getting the pot out of the cabinet. So annoying.
I was gonna post this as part of my BF rant yesterday but forgot. So I posted on Facebook on father’s day a photo of my H and son and a video from the wiggles concert we went to. This girl that I knew in high school but haven’t seen in years and don’t even talk to commented: “looks torturous” with those stupid crying/laughing emojis. So I replied “actually it wasn’t” and she replies “oh that’s good, we just can’t stand the wiggles in my house.” Um, ok, good for you...why would we have spent $150 on tickets and an entire Sunday going if we couldn’t stand them? And I hate the implication that I just have dragged my poor H to a kids concert on father’s day. Uh no actually he was really happy about going and posted a bunch of videos on instagram because they’re actually talented musicians and he appreciates music. Ugh whatever idk why it really rubbed me the wrong way.
@zande2016 that is annoying. A father's day post is not really the place to write stuff like that.
I think my TW is me so far today. I am washing the last batch of cloth diaper stuff that I finally found a few weeks back. I have washed it 3 times (well, this will be the third) and dried them and no matter how many times I dry them or how much smaller I make the load they don't dry! I have cleaned out the dryer lint too. I end up not bringing them up because I don't have time to fold and then going down the next day and they are still wet so then I have to rewash because they smell weird. It's been two days since i finished drying them the last time and I'm getting ready to take them back in to the laundry room because 90% of the prefolds and inserts are still wet or mossy smelling.
@wildtot@zande2016 Totally feel you on the H being a TW. He's been pretty good lately (cleaned the entire apartment before my Grandma came, woo!) so I feel bad having complaints. Monday nights he has class for his MBA and he has a habit of wanting to call me on his way home at 9:30. I nicely said I'm really tired and want to go to bed, but I want to finish watching the Bachelorette (important stuff). He says ok and then goes on to talk about his accounting class, keeping me on the phone and awake, for the next 30 minutes until he gets home **eye roll**.
H is the TW too! I just want to spend the last few weeks enjoying each others company before a 3rd child takes even more of our time so every night the past couple weeks I'll ask him what he wants to do once DD and DS are in bed and he constantly chooses to play his video game with his headphones on. Dude, I get it. You won't have time once baby is here but why is finishing a video game your priority right now?? I just feel neglected I guess. He tried to make up for it on Saturday by waking me up twice to initiate some bedroom fun and I'm like "uh,no. I'm sleeping, you had your chance an hour ago.."
People saying I'm going to go late, or hoping I do go late and have the baby on July 4th, or their bday, or whatever other later date. Also, people saying it would be awesome if this one is even BIGGER than DD (9 lbs 12 oz). Awesome for whom? Not me! Or my vagina. Stop. Never wish a huge baby on someone, never wish an overdue pregnancy on someone, and eat some Shuthefuckupcakes of you think telling someone their belly is "too high" to be close to labor.
@WorkinWeezel I feel like the only thing people talk to a pregnant woman about is pregnancy. When people ask me how I am feeling or make those type of comments you mentioned, I don’t even answer anymore. It is annoying. I either change the subject or walk away.
@WorkinWeezel - my TW is the opposite! A big no thanks to everyone who insists there's no way I'll make it to my due date and baby is coming early. My babies were born at 41 and 42 weeks.... Don't tell me at 35 "any day now" because it makes the looong dragged out end of pregnancy feel even longer. #willbepregnantinaugust

@WorkinWeezel I will be saying "shuthtefuckupcakes" as often as possible.
So now the hospital is my TW. I have a 36 week appt scheduled a week from friday, supposed to have GBS swab and check and make sure babe is head down. My hospital doesn't go to every week appts til 38 weeks, so the next appt would be 2 weeks later. Anyway, they called to cancel....meaning they actually just cancelled the appt and made me reschedule, they didn't ask...and now my appt is at 37 weeks. so my GBS results come back a week later, they see if babe is breech a week later, they have to talk to me about options if they are breech a week later, AND my next appt won't be til 39 weeks. I get its my third pregnancy and i'm not high risk and I never go on time but it seems insane that htey would make me miss my GBS at 36 weeks. It is legit for people to give birth at 37 weeks. I just feel like such a number there.
@KatyF0813 yes, yes, yes! If my MIL tells me one. more. time. that I’m not going to make it to my due date because I’ve “dropped sooo much” I might just punch her in the throat..
@SmashJam so the lab at my dr’s Office usually has labs back that same day and will only call you if something is wrong. If not you find out at your next appointment. So maybe they’ll be able to get the results back quickly if you happen to go into labor early. Also, If you happen to go into labor early before your results are back, they’d probably give you antibiotics as a precaution. I’m sorry you feel like a number there. I totally feel that way at my office too.
+1 for "Could be any day now". 3 girls in yoga told me that yesterday (I am now the farthest along in class, crazy!). I was like oh I am in no rush. They were surprised. I mean 1) I want my mom to be here 2) I have made plans up until then that I would like to enjoy and 3) even though 37 weeks is considered full terms my babe is small and I am happy to give him more time to develop his lungs even more.
I guess I am not terribly uncomfortable yet so I am yet to say "Get this thing out of me".
We know 41 weeks is our final deadline per OB so to be honest I am trying to not think about when baby will come too much.
no TW yet...but it's early and anything can happen!
@WorkinWeezel you are my hero @SmashJam I'm pretty sure they can do a quick GBS in the hospital if you go into labor +1 for inappropriate obsession with pregnant women and trying to dictate when they go into labor. With DD i carried so small that everyone was telling me I was going to go so late, this time everyone is saying I'm not going to make it to due date (including OB and nurses during my hospitalization) so I'm just hanging out here in bed willing him to stay put until c-section. Gee thanks I'm not already freaking out about him staying put. AFM - i think me/my health is the TW... work-friend and mom-mentor suggested I go out now instead of trying to work for 5 more weeks...which would mean 10 weeks unpaid... was talking to DH last night about it and he also wants me to start cutting back at work and delegating to my backups... it's just the day to day admin stuff isn't bad for my stress...it's the dealing with my employees and customers and escalations that cause stress and I can't really delegate that and still justify getting a paycheck...maybe I'm too jimminy cricket.
TW the weather and the dog. Dog is scared of thunder so i had to bring her in and then deal with her chasing the cat. Slightly hurt myself because she’s so strong. Finally got her in the kennel. But apparently now we are on tornado watch for the rest of the day. Ugh
Freaking clients not answering the phone at agreed upon scheduled times, and then expecting me to rearrange my schedule to accommodate them. Also my office staff for agreeing to change someone’s phone appointment with me to 5, without my permission, when they know perfectly well I have a kid and childcare obligations at home. Sorry but no, I am alone with my son from 430 until 730 when he goes to bed, I cannot speak on the phone with a client at that time, and my working hours are 7-4. And you freaking know it. Now I have to make the call at 730 after my son goes to bed. Twats, all of them.
@zande2016 I often end up with meetings at 7 am or 6+ pm just because upper management is only free then, but if it's before or after standard hours I just let my kid make noise in the background with no shame - their fault for scheduling on my time. Little different with a client i know - is i just your hours are 7-4 or is it the whole office that's typically 7-4?
It’s just my hours but literally everyone in my office works different hours. One of the attorneys works 12-8/9. We just do what works for us. I started ending my days at 4 when my son was born for childcare reasons and still end up working til 5 whenever possible and put in plenty of extra hours. Which is fine, it’s part of my profession, and I am flexible on days I miss chunks of work in the middle of the day due to dr appointments and I don’t mind working later, but it’s just annoying and inconsiderate that they know they can’t just assume I’m available since I have a toddler. It wouldn’t make me so mad if they had checked with me first.
My TW was from yesterday, the student office worker. It took way too much effort to finally print the newsletter I made, and I printed copies requested by the family of a recently deceased faculty member to mail to them. I gave the kid specific instructions on how to fold the paper and staple on the fold...and he fucked them all up! I can't send them out! He uses zero common sense and zero effort to figure stuff out on his own. He will say, "oh I don't know how to do that" with no follow up like, "but I can figure it out/ask someone/anything". I didn't talk to him about it because I was too mad at the time, but I will on Thursday. I didn't hire him either...and will recommend he not stay on in the fall if he doesn't improve. I have no patience for handholding college student hands esp if they are being paid.
Lol I saw it on a shirt once that I maybe should find again and buy. Now I use it!
It's not that I am uncomfortable, just anxious, as we all are. And I was late with my other two, but for people to actually WISH it on me is what makes them twats. Kid is already huge, give me vag a break, please!
I am on the train of DH being a TW. I feel like he just hasn’t been considerate this entire pregnancy. I would love to throat punch him right now, which would make me feel so much better.
Aaaand now it’s my H. Lying on the couch while he’s giving our son a bath. He closes the bathroom door and yells out “don’t come in here.” I say “why?” No answer. Louder, “why?!” No answer. “Hello, why??” Finally he answers: “just don’t.” Cue irrational pregnant woman rage. If you don’t have a reason for speaking to me at this point, then just don’t.
ETA apparently the reason I wasn’t supposed to come in was because my husband decided to strip down to his boxers and get into the bath with our child...I just...I have no words.
@zande2016 ugh i hate asking the asking the same question more than once especially if i know he heard me. Weird he would say not to go in just because they were both in the bath. Was it just that he wanted to share a moment?
TW of the day goes to DH who has said he would put in the ac’s every day this week. Normally I just do it myself, I hate depending on someone to do stuff like this, especially DH where everything is done on his time. FINALLY halfway through this heat wave he brings them upstairs, leaves them in the kitchen and leaves for work, says he’ll put them in when he gets home. That does me a lot of good when I’ll be the one home all day in the heat. We ended up running errands and visiting him at work so it wasn’t so bad, but I’m still mad out of principle. When your 9mo pregnant wife asks for air conditioning. PUT THE DAMN AIR CONDITIONING IN. ESPECIALLY when I’m the one that does it every other year.
Also quick side TW to my freaking uterus that wants to contract regularly but not give me my baby.
@acunamatada omg I would murder him!! I need ac at constant 70 degrees just to survive right now.
@wildtot he is just really weird. I actually think he was hoping I would get up to find out why he was telling me not to go in there (like reverse psychology you use on a 5 year old) and see them in the bath together. He wanted attention or to get a reaction out of me. He’s just a goof ball. He walked out of the bathroom with his pants back on over his wet underwear and looked like he peed himself. Such a strange man.
@zande2016 bahaha sounds like he was seeking attention. H will be playing with DS and he’ll keep saying “look, look” for like two minutes straight even if i am looking. Omg Just like a 5 year old lol
@zande2016 and @wildtot LOL. I was also really confused... we get in with DD (both have bad backs and/or knees and can't kneel and lean over to wrangle her) plus she's suddenly decided she hates water/bath and needs to be held down and bathed, I didn't think it was THAT weird lol @acunamatada wtf is with men and AC units!? DH keeps saying he'll get the central air fixed - it's been 2 years. Normally i run cold so i'm happy to just wait him out...we do have a window unit as emergency backup - last summer during a 90-100 deg heat wave he didn't put it in before he left for a business trip like i asked, and he and his father who said "call for anything" told me to sleep downstairs on the couch with the 1 year old >_< this year I put my foot down - especially because IT WAS STILL SITTING ON THE FLOOR IN OUR BEDROOM.
I swear H is testing to see what more he can get away with without doing until the baby arrives. I’m working from home to take it easy but that’s hasn’t been the case recently. Usually he will take care of the dog in the morning, well now he’s half assing it and I finish up (i even brought it up last night!) This morning he asked me to drop off DS super last minute. Does he realize how hard it is to rush and get ready while being huge?! Then having to walk DS to the sitter because he of course was taking the car. I started getting this sharp pain on the way there i started cursing him in my head thinking I’m gonna go into labor lol i know dramatic. He better enjoy the freedom now because it will all change in 2.5 wks!
