    EDD: 9/8

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Blue

    FTM/STM:  STM

Special concerns AMA, but it doesn't really seem to have any impact on how my doctors are handling this pregnancy which I appreciate.  I don't need to constant reminder that I'm old :)

How are you feeling?:  so tired.  I had a few weeks of that second trimester energy surge, but it has long since passed and now all i want to do is sleep

Rants/Raves?  We actually started clearing out the spare room that is going to become the nursery!  The closet is at least 50% empty and we got rid of a few pieces of furniture in there.  We have until mid July before the furniture is delivered and my registry completion coupons come in so I can start buying stuff.

    Questions?  not today

    GTKY:
last time around we made a whole bunch of freezer to slow cooker type meals.  Some of them were really good and others were meh.  Of course being sleep deprived and overwhelmed, we didn't keep track of which ones we liked, so we'll be starting from scratch this time.  Oops

@magnolia209 I think the name change is a sweet idea especially if you were already planning on it. I don’t have any advice though, since I didn’t change mine.

@magnolia209. That is so exciting!  Happy early birthday and almost-Anniversary!  I remember it being pretty easy, just a bit time-consuming.  You need to bring you SS card, DL, Passport, etc. Whatever has your maiden name, along with your Marriage Certificate to whichever places.  So I think honestly, the "official" one you want to do first is the SS card, and where I live, I believe we even made an apt ahead online?  That saved some time.

Then bring all that to the DMV, and they will issue you a new license!  Boom.  I found things like updating bank cards etc. to be pretty easy from there out, and some can even be changed online, maybe depending what it is.  But I think the SS card and DL are the biggies.  I still haven't updated my passport, TBH, but I haven't needed to use it so...

@nackie  I'm glad your doc isn't treating you too speshul due to AMA!  I am already a little annoyed bc I don't think the materni21 was really necessary, and cost us a few $100 OOP!  PIMA. But other than that, so far I don't think my office is doing anything too above and beyond for me, either. (I just turned 35 in Feb)

    *typos
  • @magnolia209 a name change is an awesome idea! Yes start with the SSC then DL then the rest. Can you think of a cool way to surprise him?

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: pink!

    FTM/STM:  third time mom (TTM?)

Special concerns i.e. AMA/IF/High-risk etc. (If comfortable):  AMA, but I haven’t noticed that they’ve treated this preg any differently? What differences do other AMA moms see?

How are you feeling?:  mostly good, but my lower back pain is, well a major pain! I have a vulvar varicosity as well (varicose vein in crotch

Wow, why is my Bump app so screwed up?! It only posts bits and pieces.

Ugh! I look like a crazy person lol, but I can never post a long message without it cutting in pieces. As for freezer meals, I’m going to make egg cups and probably a few soups. I like to chop a ton of onion and freeze as well to have to throw in meals so I don’t have to cut it up every time. Let’s see if this whole paragraph posts now
  • @Roto My app was going crazy this past weekend. No worries! re: frozen chopped onion....I HATE cutting onions because my eyes always water. Did you know you can buy frozen pre-chopped onions?! I just discovered this in the last year and it is the one pre-cut vegetable I will buy. It's cheap, too and SO worth it IMO!

  • EDD: 9/14

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Blue!

FTM/STM:  STM (DD will be 3 in July)

Special concerns i.e. AMA/IF/High-risk etc. (If comfortable):
Nothing has come up yet, my last pregnancy I have very low platelets at the end (which makes it harder for blood to clot) and was told I probably couldn’t get an epidural because of that. I’m a little anxious to keep track of those levels but I’ve been told there isn’t anything I can do to prevent it.
    How are you feeling?:
So tired all the time! I feel like I skipped the second tri energy boost that was supposed to happen. My mood has evened our lately though, so that’s been good. Lots of pelvic pain and hip instability I’m working through.
    Rants/Raves?
DD and I visited the forest preschool she’ll be attending in the fall. She pet 3 frogs and fell in the pond and was amazing and brace and I’m so proud!! I am not an outdoors person, though in my mind I’d like to get more confident and comfortable with exploring, hiking, camping. Hopefully her curiosity will help motivate me.
    Questions?
none I can think of. I suppose if anyone has items they didn’t bring to the hospital for their first that they’re going to bring this time? (For second time moms). I’m also trying to find a changing table that can be used as a bookcase/toy storage once babies are grown up a bit....
GTKY: We are getting close to 3rd Tri... Any freezer meal resources or recipes to share?  What do you feel like you need to do still to get ready for baby's arrival?  Anything we can support you or use each other to be accountable for?

My mom made us spaghetti sauce last time around. I think it may have literally saved my life. So that will be happening. I’m planning on also making a big batch of chili and cornbread muffins, as well as some egg muffins for easy breakfast. Probably pulled chicken as well,
thats good to have to add in to salads or stirfrys. The big question is: when do I make all of this? I was thinking beginning of August?
  • @arbell615 a forest preschool??? Can I go? Sign me up!!!

@Roto @southernlady07 DH makes fun of me but I wear swim goggles when I chop onions and have zero eye issues  :D

@arbell615 that preschool sounds awesome!  I want to go!
  • EDD:  September 9

    Team Blue/Pink/Green:  Blue

FTM/STM:  Fourth time mom (our others are 5, 4, and 18 mos).

Special concerns i.e. AMA/IF/High-risk etc. (If comfortable):  I'm AMA, but it's unlikely that my OB will treat this pregnancy any different unless something comes up.  Right now though, I am getting an US at my appointment next week since the baby has 1 dilated kidney/hydronephrosis.  There's a good chance that it will resolve itself, so that's what I'm hoping for.

How are you feeling?:  Good for the most part.

Rants/Raves?  I passed the glucose tolerance test.

    Questions?  None

GTKY: We are getting close to 3rd Tri... Any freezer meal resources or recipes to share?  What do you feel like you need to do still to get ready for baby's arrival?
Unfortunately, my DH is a very picky eater so freezer meals are a bit of a no go here.
  • EDD: Sept 9

Team Blue/Pink/Green:  Team knowing but not sharing

    FTM/STM:  4th time Mom

Special concerns i.e. AMA/IF/High-risk etc. (If comfortable):  AMA but not being treated as such thankfully.

How are you feeling?:    Getting tireder and feeling like a massive slacker

    Rants/Raves?  Nothing much here.

    Questions?  Nope

For me it is getting meals in the freezer for before baby arrives as I don't feel like cooking much that last few weeks, but I'm not much help for resources and right now it's not looking too optimistic.

  • @arcticseal-2. How were the labour/mom bags different?
  • @BusinessWife The labour bag was labour snacks, a rolling pin (for back labour), a book on labour (that yes we looked at with my second - called the guide for dads, doulas, etc or something like that), and a few other things like that.  Not very big but nice to have it go to the vehicle and not be cluttering up the room after baby was born.

The Mom bag was toiletries, clothes, nursing cover, etc just for me...  No baby stuff.

  • I think I have that book, the Birth Partner!?  @arcticseal-2
  • Happy birthday @magnolia209! I think changing your name is an awesome idea! First you have to change it with SS. I didn’t make an appt. but it was fairly easy. Once they mail your card, then take that and your marriage license to the DMV to change it. For all my banks, frequent flier cards, etc. I just emailed them a copy of my marriage certificate and new ID and they changed it. I never got around to changing my passport but after DS is born we’re going to do a family trip down to the passport office to get passports for the kids and change mine. (I think the name change can be mailed in but since I need to go in for theirs anyway, I will just do it all at once.)

@arbell615 I wish I had packed more clothes. I looked crappy in photos and had a slightly longer stay than expected and had no clean nursing shirts to change into. We stayed at my parents for a few days after discharge but I went home to get more clothes since I wanted to burn the postpartum ones (not really but they did go through an extra long wash cycle). My sister brought oversized button down shirts which I should do this time since they are just as easy for nursing.
  • That's the book!!!  @BusinessWife It was borrowed from the library but I really liked it for the details it went through on labour and what you could be feeling.  It was nicer than you have pre-labour, labour, delivery, and placenta delivery which was what it seemed like I knew with my first.
