Stabby this early in the morning because DH decided 7am was a good time to get up for the both of us. We had alarms set for 850, but nope! 7 is the earliest he's gotten up on his own for weeks since going to 2nd shift. Its like pulling teeth to get him up before 11! Turns out he wanted to clean his car before his errands so I went back to bed but we already had coffee so I'm up now...
Stabby again on a weekend morning because our 12 yr old dog woke up at 630 again and was making a ton of noise and I just wanted to sleep in past 7. I'm counting down the days until my mom is in town for the month of August and she has her dog back lol.
Mine is kind of similar to @mamabearcj. There is a monthly car event that we always go to on the 3rd Saturday of the month. When I asked last night if he wanted to go he said yes. So I got up at 7:15 to get ready and make breakfast for everyone before we left. Went to wake him up when breakfast was done and now he doesnt want to go anymore and rolled over to go back to sleep. Cool, no big deal.. but why couldn't you tell me that last night BEFORE I got up 1.5 hours early, got all ready and made breakfast??
@SawyerRichardson I’d be super salty. You’re nicer than me though! I would have woke him up when I got up to ask if he still wanted to go. Curtis has pulled that on me so often I barely feel bad waking him early anymore.
I ended up just taking DD and going ourselves when she woke up. We didn't last too long since by that time it was already 1000 degrees and humid as all get out. But at least I still want, I guess!
I couldn't sleep last night (isn't insomnia fun?!) So I was in the living room laying on the couch. I must've actually dozed off cuz around 3am someone was yelling out in front of our house! Freaked me out! I went to the bedroom and got DH. We looked out windows and didn't see anyone anywhere, so we went back to bed. Or DH went to bed and I laid down on the couch again. They yelled out just a few words or so, I couldn't tell what they said even. Way to get my heart pumping, that's for sure...
Feeling like a whale and kind of stabby. DH and I were in line at Lowe’s getting stuff to start on the nursery and an older women asked when I am due. I said October, her eyes about popped out of her head and she loudly replied “WHAT, OCTOBER?!!” DH stepped in and explained he was a large baby, born 23 inches... Anyway, thanks for that lady
My other stabby is that walmart is one of the only places we have to shop! I have to drive 45 mins to an hour and a half to get to anything bigger than walmart (we have a bunch of other stuff too, but nothing like target). Oh and did I mention DH works 3rds, normally 6 days a week and I medically can't drive. It infuriates me.
Tell me about it @jomama1618... Only I'd have to drive 3-4 hours to get to anything else and the Wal-Mart we have is still about 20 miles away. We do have an awesome little town grocery store that I'm so glad is here! But it can't carry a lot of unusual items, so driving we will go!
I guess jumping on to rude things old people say.. DH and I went to a really nice restaurant last night for the first time in a while and I was very excited to dress up and feel pretty after feeling fairly fat and hormonal lately. He took a picture of me and posted it to fb to which his aunt replied that I looked beautiful but like a 15 year old. Um, thanks? I have a naturally round face that I'm already self conscious about and I know the weight gain has made me look even younger so that just made me feel terrible. It pretty much ruined my night. Luckily I didn't see it until right before bed and DH said he was going to message her in the morning.
@jellybelly114 That is so rude!! I definitely understand how you feel. I just turned 30 and could pass for 18 (or younger) most days. It’s such a horrible feeling when someone tells you you look way younger than you are. I know most people would think it’s flattering, and maybe I will like it in another 10 or 15 years, but I absolutely hate it right now.
A lot of people think it’s a compliment. I generally look pretty young, and when I was 16 I hated it, but as I got older I laughed about people thinking I was 15 when I was 21. My boys were born a week before I turned 30 and a woman once told me I didn’t look old enough to have kids and people always asked if I was the nanny or babysitter. Last year a man thought MH was 29 and I was 22 - we were 36 and 34. Those comments are coming a lot less lately, which actually makes me a little sad. I know I am aging faster than MH right now too, when they do come now, my age is usually guessed much closer to MH’s, or even older than him. THAT makes me self concious - if I can age 10 years in a matter of a couple years, what’s going to happen in another 5-6 years? I definitely need to start taking better care of myself!
Both DH and I look pretty young (both about 29), and could probably pass for early 20s, especially sans makeup and when DH shaves his beard. It's annoying now, but if I look half as good as my parents do in thier mid 50s, I'll be pretty happy. If I had a dollar for everytime someone was like "OMG are you sisters?!? hahahaha".....ugh. I mean come on, she doesn't look THAT young, and she does get annoyed when she's carded all the time!
I read somewhere that your hands show age pretty dramatically, so you should always use sunscreen on the back of your hands! After working in the oilfield in the TX/OK heat, I've realized that a 25 year old's hands can look 40 reallly easily.
