13+2 and the nausea is still strong. A little RLP here or there but not much, lots of uterine stretching, oodles of gas, and headaches. Stomach definitely “popped” pretty good this week and my linea negra started (yay!) so, hello second tri! So excited to be almost through this first tri.

14w today and the last couple of days have been brutal. My stomach is always upset and the only thing that sounds good to eat is cereal or fruit. I’m forcing myself to eat stuff with more protein in it, but I was up all night last night because my tummy hurt. I was so hoping things would get easier about now.

@hbmama21 does uterine stretching feel like very mild, achy cramps?

I begged DH to get my maternity bin out of the attic. My bras can no longer contain these puppies. Also, I need my belly band for this blump.

I'm so sorry for those of you still battling nausea. :(

My RLP is terrible this go around.  I thought for sure one of my ligaments snapped when I got out of bed to pee last night.

@scaredunprepared From my experience, yes. From what I've heard, when your uterus stretches it actually contracts to do so, that's why you get the crampy feeling.

I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and have been really uncomfortable the past few weeks. Lower back and abdominal achiness. Doesn't matter if I stand up, or sit down, and laying down offers just a little relief. I was already carrying extra belly fat before I got pregnant. Should I get one of those belly/lower back support bands? I really don't want to take meds if I don't have to but it's getting to that point.

Also I have almost constant heartburn. From the time I get up to the time I go to bed.  :s

@snreynolds91 Have you considered seeing a chiropractor?

Somewhere in between week 13 and 14. Maybe my siggy says it? I’m sucking this go around- 4th kid problems. Nausea is pretty much gone thank goodness! I get occasional headaches but so far manageable. Lower back pain has started, I got cankles at my older son’s baseball game, and I’m pretty sure I got lightning crotch in the kitchen earlier! :o Not cool, little dude.

This pregnancy has been so easy compared to the one with my son so I don't have much to complain about, but I'm finding it odd that I've thrown up more in double digit weeks than I did in the early weeks.  It's also weird that I had a few instances of RLP around 5 weeks but nothing since.

@coco2787 it seems that the old every pregnancy is different thing is very true for you! My sister was very very sick with her first, and this time around she feels great.  I've got nothing to compare mine too, but I've been feeling pretty okay so far. My aunt didn't start having severe morning sickness until about week 12 and it continued until week 16. My friend had morning sickness through both her first and second trimester!  Yikes!

@temmetime I still can’t brush my tongue yet without gagging too. I’ve given up for the time being because the only time I’ve thrown up this pregnancy was while brushing my teeth. (Serious gag reflex) Hopefully we can all clean our mouths better soon!

Not really a symptom, but my thyroid is bouncing all over. 6 weeks ago it was .05, 4 weeks ago it was .45, and today it was just above 4.0, which I think it out of range for pregnancy. Waiting now to hear back from my OB about whether to treat, or see where it is in another week or two.

@maureenmce I so appreciate your reassurance and info earlier on. I was really surprised that it had changed so much, especially because I haven’t noticed any symptomatic changes.

@Katzalia 4.0 is definitely high. Mine was only 2.92, and my doctor still put me on Levo. Although I have had hypo symptoms forever with my TSH only around 2.32. I wouldn't be surprised if your doctor treats you to get your TSH down.

Acid reflux has already started (I am at 10w4d). I feel like that's odd. I didn't have acid reflux till well into my 2nd and 3rd trimester my first pregnancy.

Nausea is hit or miss. I am still taking Diclegis, and some days are still better than others. I have a lot of heart racing and light headedness. RLP everyday. Bad headaches are like, every other day and nothing helps...water, caffeine and naps all don't help. It sucks!

@Whitmore1027 Reflux is no fun. I get a little every night that I don’t eat a salad before 7pm. Eat something other than salad? Reflux! Eat a meal after 7pm? Reflux!

I’m not on Diclegis, but I’m still doing B6 & Benadryl each night out of paranoia. I can’t be laid up in the day right now.

@echo-charlietango Oh wow! I'll have to try salad! haha. Yes, any food will give me reflux. Although I had a bit of ice cream last night, and I really think that helped!

I seriously don't know when I should stop taking the meds...because I may think I'll be okay, but I don't want to suffer when I could have prevented it. The times I haven't taken it, I can't keep ANYTHING down. I am thinking of just continuing it until I run out of this script, then see how I do? I'll have to go for the B6 and Benadryl (I have also heard Unisom works) once I am out of Diclegis, because that stuff is so freaking expensive.

@Katzalia Of course! I am glad I was helpful! Have you gotten any word from your OB yet on whether or not they're going to treat you or wait a week or two? My endocrinologist says the thyroid demand in pregnancy usually levels out in the second trimester, so hopefully your numbers can get in range and stay stable the rest of the pregnancy and hopefully they keep monitoring you frequently!
  • Options
@maureenmce and @Whitmore1027 yes, she started me on levothyroxine, and I’m glad we’re treating. This is new territory for me, and I know it takes a little while to see how the dose impacts my levels. (Is it 2 weeks? Longer?)

The standard plan with my OB has been to monitor every 4 weeks, and sooner (every 2 weeks) if symptoms change. That’s great that things might level out with 2nd trimester.

Also, for the first time this pregnancy I’m feeling sluggish and tired. Hoping that fatigue goes away with treatment
  • Options
@Katzalia Oh, I'm glad they started you on medication. According to my endocrinologist, it takes about four weeks for the impact of the medication to be seen on blood tests, but you may feel better much sooner (hopefully so!) And I'm glad they're monitoring you regularly. I had no idea how variable the thyroid could be during pregnancy and the postpartum period until I dealt with it myself. It's crazy! PM me if you have any questions or concerns or just want to talk thyroid. :)

I’ve had some nausea the whole time but Sunday I hit week 11 and I’ve had severe morning sickness since. so true about every pregnancy being so different. With my first, this was mostly over by 12 weeks and now I feel like it’s just getting started. Oh and this is probably TMI but I’m going to the bathroom constantly and not just to pee.  :|
