I have a great WTF. Yesterday I was giving the cat a bath as she is so furry, hasn't had one in at least a year, and needed one. She bit me and it hurt. I also didn't realize how serious cat bites are. I went to Urgent Care this morning as the swelling hadn't gone done and I googled. Yep, it is a big deal, infection with cat bites happens when they bite you with a fang. The doctor gave me an antibiotic shot, put me on an antibiotic, and outlined the area it happened so I can keep track of if the swelling/infection increases. My husband, who is always so supportive, told me yesterday I was overreacting, the cat is vaccinated and not worry about it. Yeah, he is eating his words right now. I feel like a moron that I didn't go to Urgent Care yesterday.
Started this today because I couldn't wait until Friday. This morning while on the rail a young mom was visibly struggling getting her stroller open while holding a screaming toddler. The door was about to shut on rail so I went to hold the door open for her. The operator was yelling at me to step back and let her close the door several times. She kept trying to shut the door on my arm. No one else on the packed rail went to help me with holding the door. Finally, the mom was able to get off and several people thanked me afterwards for helping.
If they really wanted to do something, they could have helped me. My arm now has a huge bruise on it.. looking like a battered spouse for my OB appt today. The operator needs to be fired. Ugh. She saw what was going on.
Wtf??? Why did it take me 20 min to convince my dog to come inside this morning so I could go to work????? Of course DH is out of town and responded with "oh yeah she's been weird about coming in lately" thanks, that would have been nice to know. I guess she's going out on a leash tomorrow morning
There is this horrible woman at work that thankfully I don’t need to deal with often. But I am currently on a cross-departmental hiring committee that she is leading. We are doing interviews all week. She talks a lot and has a loud obnoxiously, yet sing-songy voice. And the baby seems to love her voice! He starts jumping around like crazy every time she talks! WTF? I’m trying to communicate telepathically to the baby: no we don’t like her, she is horrible.
There is always someone on the phone in the bathroom at work. We're allowed to have and use our phones at our desks. There are conference rooms and break rooms people can use if they don't want to have a conversation at their desk. Yet multiple times a day there's people in stalls or standing around in the bathroom on their phone. I just don't get it. The last thing I want to do is have a conversation with someone while I'm peeing.

@smsaulino that’s terrible, that operator should be reported! @DanyTargaryen maybe I’m just a jerk, but I try to flush more often than necessary when someone is on the phone in the bathroom to drive them out. I don’t want to listen to you blabbing while I’m trying to go! It’s hard enough as it is.
I had to have it out with my toddler for eating cat food. Again. It's the dry food, and it's at the house we nanny at, I barricade the food bowl in with kitchen chairs....why does he work so hard for this? Waits till I'm peeing and makes a bee-line. Wtf kid? I totally do feed you.

@pourmeamocktail my kid was straight up licking smashed food off the floor at school the other day and I just looked at his teacher and said, "I swear I feed him..." Cause I swear I feed him! It feels like 3/4ths of my day is feeding him, yet he still tries to eat the dog food, the smashed floor food, the piece of cereal he finds in the bottom of the toy box, and all the random stuff that isn't even food. Ug.
@pourmeamocktail and @stothi DS totally has done this too (dry dog food, smashed/dried food on the floor or walls or table). Also, he tries to drink out of the dog bowls, like a dog. He also will splash in the dog bowls when they have water and lick his hand after. He's building his immune system .
WTF to the parent who called an hour before her sons appointment to ask about the address for my building, and then ended up going to the wrong campus. She then called 10 minutes after the appointment was supposed to start and wanted to know if she could still come (a 5-10 minute drive). Nope. Sorry, gotta leave by 430 to pick up my kid from daycare on time. A 30ish minute visit will be pointless since our appointments are usually 1 hr+ long. I feel bad for rescheduling, but if she had followed the directions like she was supposed this would be a non issue.
@stothi I am sorry about the AC, that is miserable!!!!
@EErin86 thanks. I ended up at the ER yesterday evening. The urgent care doc scared me enough and the infection kept spreading down me hand. I was worried I was overreacting but the ER doc was glad i came in. They gave me IV meds, drained it and packed it, and are having me see a hand specialist tomorrow. He said they are being a little more proactive as no one will want to operate on a pregnant lady. I had no clue this would be that bad! At least I have great insurance and I have learned my lesson about pet bites. My husband completely redeemed himself yesterday when he pretty much forced me to the ER.
Wtf to myself (or maybe this is a pregnancy brain comment???) I'm working in a different office today and it didn't occur to me to bring my phone charger and I didn't charge my phone last night so now I can't use my phone the rest of the day (I'm making this rant an exception) and I'm bummed I will catch up with you guys tonight I guess!
@stothi Noooo! Hope it gets fixed soon! This happened to us two years ago over Memorial Day weekend and we went days without it. No fun at all! @lisac113 I hope your hand heals quickly! @EErin86 Boo! Hope you have a SUPER productive day!

@southernlady07 fortunately it was an easy enough fix. "Just" a motor and the fix it guy had one in his van. It wasn't cheap, but then again it never is All in all it wasn't too bad. Only a day or so without a/c and while painful to do, we had enough money to cover the cost of repair. Can't complain about that! I'm enjoying the heck out of some cold air now
Our central air broke over Memorial Day weekend when I was pregnant with DS. It was 90+ all weekend and broke Saturday morning. MH is a contractor so he had someone who could come look at it that day but turns out our outside unit had seized up and to be completely replaced which couldn't be done until parts stores opened Tuesday.
I was so thankful - our neighbor's son gave up his bedroom window a/c for the weekend so we could keep our bedroom cool since pregnant and hot with no a/c sucks. Glad yours was an easier fix!

Update on my rant yesterday-he got into cat food 4 times total. He may have had more cat food than either cat and more than he had of his own food. He kept sneaking it when I went pee, or when to go make/get him a snack or meal. Lol.

@DanyTargaryen it broke last time I was pregnant too! 100+° weather when I was 30+ weeks pregnant. It took 3-4 days to get the parts in. I made it almost 2 days with just the window a/c before I couldn't take it anymore and declared I needed to check into a hotel. The hotel staff was so nice and every time they saw my pregnant self waddle by they'd ask if I needed a drink and bring me a ginger ale. We ended up ordering fancy pizza for dinner and eating at the hotel restaurant for breakfast and it ended up being the closest thing to a "babymoon" that I got.
After being gone for roughly 4 months off and on so far this year, and about 9 months in 2017, my boyfriend was promised some time off before he went back to the oil field. We have (well, HAD) large fishing trips and weekend get away planned. He was literally home for a week before they send an EMAIL (not even a fucking courtesy call) saying he was going back. His response was simply find some one else. Then a flight notification comes in WTF.
4 years he's had this job, and prior we lived 400 miles away from each other while he was in college, and not once have I ever cried when he's left until today. I absolutely despise his employer and hope he finds another job before the end of the year.
@tasha_ak That's really hard and I'm sorry you're dealing with that, especially while pregnant! Not the same situation, but MH recently switched careers and went from working 60-70 hours/week (for nearly 10 years) to a normal FT schedule, and it has made such a difference in our family's happiness level. I really hope he finds another job soon that provides more respect/flexibility for your family.

@tasha_ak I’m really sorry you’re going through this. My brother has worked in oil for almost 15 years and I know it is so hard for my SIL because she has to be Mom and dad when he is gone and then he comes home for 2 weeks and it disrupts the way the house normally runs. I hope your bf can find something more normal and less sporadic soon so he can be there with you and your LO.
@tasha_ak I'm sorry, that really sucks. I'd have a difficult time handling that-I might have thrown things and definitely would have yelled. I don't at all deal well with surprise life serious screw ups like that.

Dear cubicle neighbor, WTF? Keeping up with technology and learning how to use conferencing tools such as Skype for business is an implied part of your job. Figure it out, no excuse. Also please plug your headphones in because I don't need to hear your conference call with crazy static. Thanks, your annoyed neighbor that doesn't want to help you with technology because that's what Google is for
I want to get a chair we currently have in our living room recovered for baby's nursery and messaged a local upholstery business on Facebook asking for a quote. They responded to say labor would cost around $385.00. Ummm excuse me?

@smsaulino I know, right! I messaged them back to clarify because I'm pretty sure they MUST have meant $38.50. The chair has wicker sides and not a ton of fabric. We already have a nice glider and ottoman that we used with DD in our master, but instead of getting rid of this chair I thought it would be nice to use it in the nursery.

pourmeamocktail sadly this has been our entire relationship. We've handled it so well and gone with the chaos. and I can't lie, the money has helped so much. I finished college with little debt and his is almost paid off. It got us our house. But it's a surprise to our family when he's actually home and can attend family events. And now that my sons older he's noticing how much he's gone. I'm over it. I'm not even upset the hormones are making it 10x worse. @southernlady07@EErin86@klj0228 thank you. Rarely do I complain about our situation, and when I do I'm basically told to suck it up and be happy he survived the oil crash and layoffs Alaska went through a few years back. I am, but there's a line and it's been crossed so many times.
On a positive note, we did get to go fishing before he left and it was one of the best trips we've had. I've been craving fresh salmon and dinner before he left did not disappoint. And his buddy is still taking me out this weekend to hopefully get some more fish.

@smsaulino I'm sure that other mom really appreciated the help. It's really lame that no one else assisted
@magnolia209 maybe baby is saying "make it stop, make it stop!!!" Or she has just the right obnoxious frequency that baby hears it really well
I would be offended if I found out the person I was talking to was doing so in the bathroom
I'm hot :'(
