So lately I have been craving all things spicy! With my acid reflux in full swing I have avoided the spicy food as much as possible but tonight I gave in and ate some flaming hot cheetos. Worst decision ever! When I went to bed a few hours later I felt the acid reflux starting up and went to shift positions to prop myself up more. Mid shift it happened... the cheetos came back with a vengeance. I ran to the bathroom and threw up and in the process some came out my nose. OMG it burned my nose SO bad! I tried everything to get the sting out but with every nose blow it just got worse. Finally my husband came in with some milk and I had to practically snort it to get the burning to stop. Now laying in bed feeling like someone just drove a semi through my sinuses I write to warn you, don't give into the flaming hot snacks, though they are delicious, they are evil!
Hi. Looks like your new so a few things... 1. Change your user name because it gets hard to track the knotties 2. Introduce yourself in the Intro thread 3. Read the “Read First” thread so you get to know how this board is organized. 4. Jump in on any threads! This particular one could of best fit in the “Randoms” thread. We typically avoid one off threads like this when they fit into something already trending. 5. Sorry for your Cheeto experience, it sounds terrible! i had some today and they were delicious and so far I think I’ll be ok.
@zande2016 I could eat flaming hot cheetos any time, day or night. And (knock on wood), I have been eating the SPICIEST food with this baby, and have no heartburn or adverse effects to show for it so far.

@stlmegs I totally have heartburn at least 4 times a week if not more, but it does not seem to stop me from eating all the spicy foods. I had Mexican 3 nights in a row for dinner last week, plus one of those days I had it for lunch too. Gimme all the jalapenos! It's actually tomato based foods and coffee that seem to trigger my hearburn the most, not spicy food. But don't expect me to give up coffee anytime soon either.
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert I get that too sometimes! The other night I swallowed my pills that I take after dinner and had immediate hearburn - not sure if it was the water or the pills but it was awful.
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert I get that as well. I will admit that a scoop of ice cream at night before bed really helps! The sacrifices we have to make...
I literally love flaming hot Cheetos and have eaten them several times throughout this pregnancy so I panicked when I saw the discussion title cuz I thought it meant they did harm to the baby should’ve known a random drive by wouldn’t really be posting anything too significant about Cheetos
I also haven’t had heartburn in a couple weeks so I just might pick some of these up today!
+1 on the water making both heartburn and acid reflux soooo bad!! I was just explaining this to DH this weekend because I can eat spicy food like nothing and I can drink carbonated water with ZERO issues, but plain old water? Nope! Makes me feel like crap.
I haven't had any digestion issues with eating spicy foods...but my mouth is so much more sensitive to them. I used to love getting everything super spicy..and now I only want mild things...but all this talk makes me want to try some spicy cheetos.
