Trying to Get Pregnant

GTKY 6/11 Fashion!

I'm already sensing a problem with the separate GTKY thread, mainly that no one gets around to starting it...

Describe your sense of style. What outfit would you normally wear on a casual weekend day?

  • I was trying to think of something to start it but couldn't come up with anything.

I think I'm mostly a jeans type of girl. I like tops that are loser. Sometimes it will be a basic t/long sleeve, sometimes a nicer blouse. Flats on the weekends since I like to wear heels at work (though mostly sandles when weather permits). I like to throw on a maxi or knee length float skirt if it's really hot or we are doing more then standard errands.
  • I've been trying to upgrade my wardrobe and lately with the heat and humidity where I am, skirts are more comfortable than shorts. On a weekend I'd probably be wearing a skirt or dress and flip flops or loafers. I try to remember to accessories with a necklace too.

  • Definitely with @meri-mac and @ladylinsey on the comfy train butttt I'm trying really hard to be slightly more put together, even on weekends! Like @prpl11butterfly I am a huge jeans person; the top depends on what we're up to. Today I'm wearing an Underarmor tee with a light fleece zip up over it and jeans. I bought some cute flat sandals at Target the other day that I've been loving when it isn't wet and rainy. I have a variety of cute tops for social things, a handful of athletic tees/tank tops for all my hiking adventures and a ton of hoodies when it's fall. I don't really have a style yet- I need to do more shopping!
  • I think I am a little bit of all of the above. Just depends on what we are doing, but my preference is the casletics as @ladylinsey mentioned. I will do anything to throw on tights, cute tank, and my casual sneakers. But if I need to dress it up a little, then jeans and a scarf.
  • I’m a comfort girl if I’m at home - all the leggings and over sized ts (definitely an 80’s child...). Jeans and a cute top if actually leaving the house though. Have actually added more shorts to the wardrobe recently because DH really likes me in them.
  • I don't feel like I'm really dressed if I wear casletics. They are comfy, but I never feel cute or put together. And I might be the only person that doesn't like lululemon leggings... I think I just needed to get a larger size than the salesperson talked me into.

  • @meggyme I have to agree with you. And for someone who works out as much as I do, you would think I would really live in them. They are just so expensive, even with the discount that I get, that I am yet to buy a second pair. The regular Old Navy compression tights do just as well. However, you can not beat Lulu sports bras.
  • @nitnat007 yes, I love Old Navy's workout tights! I need to get more, mine are ancient.

  • oh, geez, I'm a total scrub. I work at home so it's a great day if I put on pants with an actual zipper. Yoga pants/athleisure or PJ's is life! I've kind of given up on feeling put together any given day, it's totally casual all the time at our house!

  • @meggyme @nitnat007 I am with you. I can't get behind lulu anything just due to the price. I can't justify buying something that expensive which I will be extremely gross in. There are cheaper sweat absorbers.

@catlady2015 ...you are living my perfect life...
  • I have to fight back against the Lulu haters. I have four pair of their leggings and I wear them constantly. I wish I could fit into their sports bras, but they’re not shaped for boobs.

I have to wear a suit for work so weekends I am always in leggings and an oversized tee (80s kids for life! @LElkCot ). Also, I own about 30 hoodies.
  • I'm with @ladylinsey yoga pants are the best. Basically anything to keep me out of real pants. So I'd even say a sun dress qualifies for my weekend attire if it's too hot for pants (I live in Texas).
  • My wardrobe is a lot of Target, Old Navy, and Gap clothing. I love dresses (and have way too many according to MH) and I wish I could wear one every day. I usually can't wear dresses to work though because of how much moving around I do. I like yoga pants for staying at home, I don't like wearing them out and about because I need pockets in my pants. I'm also going to be the odd girl out because I don't own leggings (I have a couple thin leggings I wear under dresses though).
  • At home it’s sweats or athletic shorts and a tee or tank. Out of the house I’m in jeans or knee length shorts and a tee, I have various styles of tees to fit how cute or causal I feel like looking. I have a number of sun dresses and when I need to look dressier.

Home/errands: t-shirt and leggings/yoga pants in winter and running shorts in summer.

Out and about:  In summer, it's sundresses and Jacks all the time; in winter, its long-sleeve dresses with boots if not too terribly cold or jeans, sweater, boots/loafers, Barbour jacket/pea coat if necessary.

Work: Whatever from the above category I think I can get away with (sometimes just throwing a blazer over things works wonders, especially when your colleagues are all dudes and have no idea there's a difference between a sundress and a wool suiting sheath); pencil skirts and sweaters; occasionally wool pants in winter or linen trousers in summer; heels that stay on a bookcase in my office and practically never leave (I walk to work, so flats or Jacks to and from).
  • I’m a teacher so for work I wear Bermuda short/khakis and nice tops (something I can comfortably sit on the ground with my kids in). On the weekends, it’s mostly jeans and tees (most of my tees are either running related, Disney related, or Florida gators related). But my main addiction is Lilly Pulitzer.  I’m obsessed!
