Any fun plans this weekend?

  • ... I forgot the bump for a few moments this morning and went running across our field trying to get dd’s kite to fly... my under the bump muscles are not impressed w me now.  I don’t feel like I damaged anything as much as made those muscles work harder than they are accustomed to. There is no contracting or intense pain, just general soreness. The bump itself is still dancing and wiggling and did not mind in the least. *eyeroll*

  • Went to a birthday party last night and got home after midnight. That’s the first (and probably last) time we’ve done that in a long time. This morning I had to get up early to get DD from my parents house, while DH has been sleeping off his hangover all day. We took a little drive to meet up with another mom from my prior BMB who was in town and her daughter, then hung out at my sister’s until my mom kicked us out. She said DD was making more of a mess and she wanted to clean. Tomorrow is swim lessons and checking out hot tubs, and hopefully putting together the double stroller. Other than that I just want to sleep.
  • @EErin86 I’ll be in Wisconsin in two weeks, but guess there won’t be many farm tours in the middle of the week. I really want to get up there with H one summer for Summerfest.

@BusinessWife sorry your having to deal with this he hem of your pants. I’m with you though, I wouldn’t want to wash one pair of pants over and over. Yay for talking about strollers/travel systems and hopefully ordering one today!!

It is so exciting that we are all making so much progress with preparing for baby! September is getting closer and closer ladies!
  • @businesswife That's exciting about your first big baby purchase! Which stroller have y'all decided on?

@eerin86 That sounds like a lot of fun! Who doesn't love a good breakfast in a cute setting?

@klj0228 Sounds like you had a very productive day! What kind of fabric did you pick out for the chair?

AFM, it's too hot to go to the dog festival we had planned on. Me and our black long haired dogs would not have any fun. So lots of cleaning and travel prep before seeing Oceans 8 this afternoon :)
  • @SkilledSailorI hate it’s too hot to go to the dog festival today, but you’re right it is more of a be inside day. If its this hot and humid all summer I feel like there are a lot of movies in my future. Let us know how Oceans 8 is. We just got a dark grey indoor/outdoor material for the chair. H was complaining that the furniture on the porch isn’t comfortable enough, and this chair was going to go to the dump next week. So he asked if I would re-cover it and we can put it on the porch.
  • The shower was great! We had lots of people, got a ton of cute stuff, the food was amazing, and people genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves (booze was flowing for everyone but the preggos). My completely alcohol free cup runneth over. My back and hips also cooperated pretty well. I think I'll mostly rest today, but I'm excited to start setting up the nursery now that we actually have things to put in it. Also feel like I've got a green light to start buying things myself.
  • @dexnie. Oh wow!  How fun!
  • @BusinessWife Would you mind linking to the specific travel system you are getting? My best friend with 3 little kids who has gone through “tons” of car seats highly highly highly recommends the Chicco keyfit 30. I am sold on it, but getting a little confused by all the different options. I’m curious which specific travel system you picked. On Amazon there are big ranges of prices. My biggest thing is that I want something light and easy and collapsible - she assured me that Chicco is the best! TIA!
  • @magnolia209 We have the system @BusinessWife is getting (albeit from 2016). The main differences in the various Chicco systems are basically how the stroller functions, how the wheels are situated, and how fancy the fabric is. The advantage of the Bravo is that the fabric seat of the stroller is completely detachable and thus you can use it as a frame stroller (instead of buying the Keyfit Caddy for another $100), which was a huge convenience for us. The Bravo system itself has a variety of versions depending on the fabric you want. There is now even a “mini Bravo,” that doesn’t seem like much of a size difference to me. Anyhow, DS loves the Bravo stroller now but we will move him to his own umbrella when this LO comes to use the frame again.

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and it really is great. It’s rated the best on baby bargains. My sister is using it for her baby and we’ll get it back in August. I love how easy the base is to install. We got a Britax stroller which is great but it did not work well with the car seat adaptor. My sister has the Chicco Viaro and likes it. She said the difference  between the Viaro and the Bravo systems are the amount of wheels in the front. (There could be other differences, I’m not sure.)

The 20% off code works, too ;)
  • @stothi isn't is just the wildest thing! I have a crazy active babe and I just can't get over how strong he is... I definitely don't like the inward/downward kicks as much, they just feel so weird! He's been facing inward the last few days and the kicks sometime stop me dead in my tracks...
  • @klj0228 Yep! Sometimes when I’m laying with a pillow supporting my bump, I feel like he purposely gets under there and tries to roll me over. Or he throws a tantrum and it’s right at the spot where my bump touches the pillow.

@stothi @lilidubs  Those internal kicks sound awful! I haven’t experienced that yet...

@stothi I've definitely been punched in the cervix and rectum ETA: by the baby (LOL!). Such a weird feeling! I assume it's punching because she's mostly head down, mostly on a diagonal.

@stothi Good! I’m glad they don’t hurt. So far my little guy is super active, but I haven’t felt him kicking any internal organs so I was anticipating that it would be unpleasant. Right now is movements are just crazy adorable and don’t hurt me at all.

And, that’s hilarious - the twitching bum sensation while your H is being all sweet seems straight out of a sitcom!
