2. CD6, WTO 3. Looking forward to meeting with our RE on Thurs. to make our IVF plan! 4. We are heading into summer! We leave for Topsail, NC on Saturday and while I’m super excited I’m also stressing about packing haha.
2. Status? CD4, WTO 3. R/R: Impatiently waiting for CD10 when I'm supposed to start using OPKs. It will be a whole new ball game this month; we start our IVF protocol when I get a + OPK. Excited and terrified! 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? It's gorgeous here now! Sunny and warm but not too humid. No big plans for the summer, other than taking a few weeks off. The vacation will be being away from work!
@char245 Exciting that you'll be making plans this week too! Good luck with your RE appointment.
2. Status? I think I’m just waiting for AF. Temp drop this morning 3. R/R: ugh temp drop I’m so annoyed with my body. 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? It’s summer here. We are going to lake MI for the 4th of July other than that no big plans.
3. R/R: I'm feeling pretty good again. First fews days of a new cycle make me hate life's injustices but once O is in sight, I tend to feel better. We had a pretty good weekend too. Rant is that we have court this week (for custody) and I'm nervous. Logically the odds are stacked for us, but I can't help feel a little worried because lying comes so easily to the other side.
4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Hahahaha I live in New England so right now its Spring. In a few hours we will probably be in Summer and then by the time I leave work, Fall. We should be able to avoid Winter for a few days but ya never really know. Any vacations or fun plans coming up? We don't have anything major planned. My parents will go camping at the ocean and we will spend a few days there. We hit up a zoo over the weekend and my dad said they want to go to a wayer park this year too. Our trip with FIL got canceled to to SMIL having some complications with surgery she had a few months ago. Super okay with that as I don't want to be around my preg SSIL.
@char245 I hate packing. But your vacation will totally be worth it!! Hope your appt goes well.
@bakerstreetboys so exciting! It's defiently a terrifying excitement though. What happens once the OPK is +?
2. Status? Technically benched, but have had fertile quality CM the last couple days. While my ob wants us to wait until I get my period, we're giving it a blind shot this month just because. 3. R/R: Still some HCG (just a little) from the MC so OPK's are unreliable. Definitely surprised by the amount of fertile CM I had the last few days. Temping again just to see if I get a temp rise and tracking mucus. If we're lucky enough to confirm O, i'll start progesterone again and see what happens. Thankfully I have 18 months of charts for temp data and just hoping it's not a HUGE departure from my norms. 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? Summer! Nothing in terms of vacations, DH and I are buying a house and closing on it in about a month so I'm definitely staying close to home. He's going on the annual trip with his family in August, but I'd bowed out this year since I wanted to save my PTO. Still hoping that will be needed for other reasons in the next year so I'll stay home and help our cats adjust to our new house.
@char245 - yay, vacation! I hope the weather is great and you guys have a fantastic time!
@bakerstreetboys - FX for your + OPK soon! what is your IVF protocol looking like?
@Mack2342 - sorry you feel out this month. try to do something nice for yourself today! *hugs*
@prpl11butterfly - I have everything crossed for you that this custody hearing goes your way! This has been a huge albatross for you guys and I hope the judge sees through all the crap the other side is spewing.
@prpl11butterfly Good luck with the custody hearing. Hopefully they rule quickly and you will have one less thing to worry about.
Once I get a + OPK, I start the GnRH Agonist patch to suppress ovulation. Then on CD1, I start FSH and LH injections and the daily/every two day monitoring starts so they know when to trigger. ER and transfer, if all goes well, will be mid-July.
@Mack2342 Sorry about the temp drop...hopefully it's only for one day.
@char245@bakerstreetboys FX that IVF works first cycle! @Mack2342 sorry about the temp drop. That just plain sucks. @prpl11butterfly I hope court goes smoothly for you! @catlady2015 we didn't wait either. Its hard to, and if dr says there's no real reason to, then why not?
AFM 1. Introduce yourself (if new): not new. Ttc since 1/17. CP 3/17. NMC 9/17. 2. Status? WFAF. CD19 3. R/R: I'm feeling extremely defeated. Month 4 of no ovulation. Longest WTO ever. I had such high hopes with clomid. My dr basically assured me I'd ovulate on it. My heart just hurts today. 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? Summer. We're going to the rocky mountains in 2 weeks with my extended family. Looking forward to that.
@bakerstreetboys That is exciting and terrifying that IVF is just around the corner! Will you have to go on BCP before you stim? @catlady2015 Ha, I am having a similar situation over here. I have had EWCM on and off since last Tuesday or Wednesday, but I am still getting +HPTs (although they are getting light) so I can't use OPKs. From looking back at my previous post-loss charts, the first cycle after loss tends to be pretty wonky. I had fertile CM (mostly watery, but also four days of EWCM) starting two weeks before I ovulated in my first cycle post-loss when I had used cytotec. Fx if you try that it works out for you.
1. Not new, but returned last week after loss #4. 2. Status? Benched. 3. R/R: We got the results of our genetic testing back last week. My RE called me herself. Finally, after 8 months of testing and two D&C's we got what seems like the answer - our baby had Trisomy 22. I have found this answer makes me feel a lot lighter. Of course it would be better to be pregnant with a healthy baby right now, but I know there was no good outcome for a baby with Trisomy 22, and we finally have some explanation for what has (most likely) been going wrong. My RE believes that IVF with PGS will allow us to get a take home baby. I got the IVF paperwork in the mail and it looks like I will have to re-do a lot of testing because it's been more than six months, and there is additional testing we will need as well. So idk what the timeline is but I am hoping we will be able to start later this summer. We are hoping to get into our clinic's guarantee program which my RE also sounded optimistic about assuming I meet the minimum requirements for things like AMH (needs to be 1 or above), AFC (8 or above), etc. I am a little nervous about this but last fall when we tested I had AMH of 1.93 and AFC of 11, so hopefully those numbers have stayed up and FSH hasn't climbed. I am trying to figure out when I O only because we'll need to redo a bunch of cycle day dependent testing and I want to have an idea of when we can schedule it. It will be another convo at our house if we can't do the guarantee program. 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? Summer, very hot. No vacay plans. Realistically we have not vacay budget due to IVF being $$$.
@Mack2342 so sorry to hear about the temp drop! I really keep hoping to hear some good news!
@prpl11butterfly funny I feel the same way, as a new month starts I’m super pissed but then the closer to O I get I start feeling excited and hopeful again!
@catlady2015 so exciting to be buying a house! I’m sure you can’t wait to move in!!
@Kath525 ugh that is a really long WTO! Have you made any plans to try steps beyond clomid?
@zamora_spin It’s always nice to have some answers and I’m glad they made you feel at least a little better.
@zamora_spin - I'm so glad you were able to get an answer as to why this happened to you. *hugs* I really hope you can start IVF later this summer and all your numbers are going to be good.
1. Introduce yourself (if new): I’m 32, DH is 33. We had a cp in March and an early loss at the beginning of this month. Trying to get some testing or at least counseling with the doctor scheduled.
2. Status? WTO CD 7
3. R/R: I feel like the doctor is brushing my concerns aside about the back-to-back cp/mc. I just want to sit down with my doctor and discuss my concerns, possible issues and if there are any changes I need to make.
4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? Summer and no - we were talking about a beach trip but then I found out my job was being cut in July (yay acquisition). Hopefully I’ll have a new job figured out soon so we can plan something this fall.
@char245 sounds fun! And I always stress about packing (and way over pack)! Hope you’re appointment goes well.
@char245@LElkCot There's still a couple tests dr wants to run... As far as treatment goes though.... DH is very weary of medication. I REALLY had to work on him to get him on board with clomid. I have an appointment in 2 weeks with my doctor. So I'll see what she says. I have blood tests on Wednesday to confirm no O. @zamora_spin I'm glad you got some answers. I'm sorry it took 4 mcs to get answers. I'm hopeful for you though! @LElkCot I'm sorry your doctor is making you feel that way. Your concerns are valid! I'm sorry for your losses.
@Kath525 I'm sorry you didn't O on the clomid that is very frustrating - are you being monitored by your dr? What was your dose, and can they up it? Oftentimes dr's start with the lowest dose and then can go up from there. Also, some women have better luck with Letrozole.
@zamora_spin 50 mg. Blood tests are the only monitoring for now. I'm working on getting to an RE but insurance makes me jump through a million hoops. I emailed my dr today asking whether she was going to increase the dosage.
@Kath525 That is definitely the lowest dose that they see results from. I do not have difficulty ovulating but we tried a couple clomid cycles to see if we could get multiple follicles going (not really) and my dose was 100mg. I think for some they prescribe up to 150 mg. I hope you are able to get in with an RE soon. If you've not already had it it there is testing the RE will want to do, and you may not want to blow too many clomid cycles with your OB or family doc because there is a lifetime limit on clomid. Good luck, it is so frustrating not to O.
2. Status? I'm considering it benched. On progesterone right now to start my first cycle after my miscarriage on 5/8. Not enjoying these nasty suppositories, but ill be done with them on Thursday! Looking forward to the chance to try again. 3. R/R: sort of a rave? I started a blog to talk about my pregnancy updates and I have slowly been working myself up to writing about my mc. I'm excited because I think it will be really good for me to express my feelings. 4.GTKY: What season is it where you live? Any vacations or fun plans coming up? Definitely summer! We are actually going up to some hot springs in Idaho this weekend! We are really excited! A few other minor camping trips, but nothing big.
@catlady2015 no shame in trying just because! You just need to do what feels right to you. And congrats on the house! We just bought or first house last August, it's a fun time
@Kath525 sorry about the crappy success with the Clomid. I hear its not a fun one to be on, and I can imagine is very frustrating that it doesn't seem to be working. Insurance is the worst
2 TWW and not feeling very hopeful. Didn't have great timing. I have a big event coming up in 6 weeks time and so I may bench myself next month as I just can't handle another loss during that time. And I hate that instead of trying to plan when to get pg, I'm planning when to not have a mc. Ugh 3. Feeling down on this whole journey. I'm 41 and maybe just too old. Did we wait too long? 4. It's supposed to be summer but we've got a bad case if Junuary. Cold and rainy. But it's supposed to get hot and sunny for the weekend. We've got a trip planned to Newfoundland this summer. I've never been and I'm quite looking forward to it.
@zamora_spin I'm glad you've gotten some answers. I hope IVF brings you success
@LElkCot and @sagems10 welcome to the group and I'm sorry for your losses
@prplbttrfly77 hoping for good news from your court date
@40momma Sorry you're feeling down about the tww; that sucks about thinking of timing of a mc Newfoundland is beautiful, and the people are super friendly!
@Kath525 Sorry that the Clomid didn't work. So frustrating. I hope they switch your meds or up your dose.
@Zamora_spin Getting an answer can definitely help, and I'm happy to hear that it made you feel a bit lighter. Hopefully IVF with PGS is exactly what you need! I don't have to go on BCP before I stim; we'll be trying a fresh transfer first, so I'll start injections on day 1 and they'll start monitoring me closely for my trigger. I imagine they'd put me on BCP if we have to move to FET.
@zamora_spin thanks for the advice. I've had some testing done. But I'm sure the RE would do more. My original plan was to do 2 months of clomid with my OB and save the rest for an RE. Hoping I'll be done with insurance in that time. @sagems10 I think you're right that worrying it all down and expressing it helps a lot. I hope it does for you! @40momma I'm sorry you're feeling down. What a messed up world it is that any of us have to think that way.
@catlady2015 congrats on the house! Any confirmed O yet?
@kath525 I'm sorry the clomid didn't work. Are they going to up the dose for the next round?
@zamora_spin I'm glad that you were able to get some answers. It doesn't lessen the pain, but at least it's something.
@LElkCot sorry about your job. Fx that you find something even better. I went through that last year and it sucked but I am so so much happier and better off now.
@sagems10 opening up and talking was amazingly relieving for me. I hope that it does the same and that your followers can use your experience to help if they ever find themselves walking this road.
@40momma sorry your feeling down. MC really changes the way we look at things. Maybe benching for a cycle will help your mindset and you'll feel better after.
AFM. Just a quick update since we had a meeting with our lawyer. Long story short, the guardianship is sound. Mom is agreeing to keep things as is. We are still going to push for the adoption because it is what's best but are going to offer open with the same visit schedule. I'm in such shock that she's stepped back. Just in shock.
@prpl11butterfly - Pretty much! almost positive I'm 2DPO. OPK's were a wash this cycle, but carefully tracking mucus and temped the last few days to note it significantly trending upwards. It's fairly closely mirroring temp patterns from previous cycles, so even though I'm not 3 days post-O, I'm calling O day based on the temp patterns and mucus. So tomorrow I'd start the supplemental progesterone again and would need to test on 6/21.
timing wasn't optimal, but a respectable -2, so we'll just see what happens.
Just found out with O when it was that if this cycle doesn't go, I'm screwed for next cycle. DH will be out of town for the entirety of FW.
I am so THRILLED that guardianship is sound!! I've been thinking about you and I'm glad that she's stepped back and doing what's right. Totally keeping fingers crossed that you guys can move ahead with the adoption, but this is phenomenal news!! *hugs*
@prpl11butterfly That’s excellent news!! I’m sure that it feels like part of the weight was lifted which is awesome! Hope things move forward smoothly for adoption!
Had follow up blood testing today and was relieved to see my hcg was down to 9.9 (almost 3 weeks after). Can I ask when you o-ed after mc? I know it’s different for pretty much everyone, but would just be interested to know other people experience.
@LElkCot That’s good news that you hcg is coming down. With my MMC and D&C, I didn’t O before my first AF. That came about 5.5 weeks after the procedure, and then I O’d right on time two weeks after that. My cycle wasn’t back to normal yet though because I didn’t O the month after that! I definitely use OPKs every month since having losses.
@bakerstreetboys thank you - it helps to know how things happened for others. Definitely planning to use OPKs next cycle, but wasn’t sure if it was worth using them before my first post mc cycle.
@LElkCot Did they test your HCG levels at your follow up appointment after your m/c? I have my follow up post D&C next Monday and am unsure what to expect/ what happens at that appointment. I had a late MMC (almost 16 wks, but baby only measured 11 and we had heard heartbeat at 13.5 weeks) so I don't know if that means I should be expecting high HCG levels or if they would have already tapered off given that the MMC was later. As I've mentioned before I'm trying to steel myself for a potentially long wait for o and AF, but I wish a normal cycle would return asap.
@LElkCot I usually O between CD12 - 15 in cycles that are not immediately post-loss. After my first loss (used cytotec) I O'd on CD 25. My dr at the time did not follow my hCG down to zero but I would estimate I O'd 7-10 days after my hCG was zero based on HPT. After my CP I O'd around CD18. After my third loss, D&C, I O'd about 7 days after my hCG hit 4. This time (loss #4, another D&C) my hCG was 141 as of yesterday, CD16. I only stopped bleeding around CD7, and had EWCM on and off since CD8. Today I am spotting again. I am thinking it will be an an-O cycle this time. So it can vary a lot even in one body. I have seen some women report that they have O'd before hCG has hit zero, so it is definitely possible.
@obsessedwithoranges I’m so sorry for your loss. I didn’t have a D&C, mine started with bleeding and yes, they tested hcg when confirming the miscarriage just before 6 weeks. My hcg dropped to 516 the first week (when my miscarriage was confirmed), only down to 513 the second week. I had 6 more days of bleeding (sorry for the tmi) and it was down to 9.9 today. After my cp in March my hcg was back to 0 as soon as the bleeding was over. For me, it seems like my hcg only dropped after bleeding.
@zamora_spin thank you for sharing your experience, and I am so sorry you’ve gone through all that. It’s so frustrating not knowing what to expect after a mc. It’s helping to hear everyone’s experiences.
@obsessedwithoranges my boss and I have the same doc. She had a MC last year but chose to let it happen naturally. Doc monitored her levels. I opted for a D&C as mine was a MMC. My levels were not monitored. The reasoning is that they are watching for molar pregnancy. With natural MC, HCG levels falling properly (and not rising) are a good sign that the pregnancy was not molar. With a D&C, they can test placental tissue and know if it was molar based on that.
My guess is that your doc had tests done and will tell you try the results at your appt. For mine, they did that, let me know how the surgery went and asked about my bleeding and how I was feeling. It was a super quick appt.
@prpl11butterfly thank you - that makes a lot of sense! They did do tests but I was told to also be prepared for the possibility that results would be inconclusive.
@obsessedwithoranges I didn't even know they were testing. Maybe if they are inconclusive they will monitr you just to be sure. If fact, I'd ask for it if that's the results.

@char245 and @bakerstreetboys good luck on your ivf cycles!
@40momma Sorry you're feeling down about the tww; that sucks about thinking of timing of a mc
Newfoundland is beautiful, and the people are super friendly!
@sagems10 Sounds like you're blog is therapeutic
@Kath525 Sorry that the Clomid didn't work. So frustrating. I hope they switch your meds or up your dose.
@Zamora_spin Getting an answer can definitely help, and I'm happy to hear that it made you feel a bit lighter. Hopefully IVF with PGS is exactly what you need! I don't have to go on BCP before I stim; we'll be trying a fresh transfer first, so I'll start injections on day 1 and they'll start monitoring me closely for my trigger. I imagine they'd put me on BCP if we have to move to FET.
@sagems10 I think you're right that worrying it all down and expressing it helps a lot. I hope it does for you!
@40momma I'm sorry you're feeling down. What a messed up world it is that any of us have to think that way.
Just in shock.
timing wasn't optimal, but a respectable -2, so we'll just see what happens.
*hugs*

Can I ask when you o-ed after mc? I know it’s different for pretty much everyone, but would just be interested to know other people experience.
@zamora_spin thank you for sharing your experience, and I am so sorry you’ve gone through all that. It’s so frustrating not knowing what to expect after a mc. It’s helping to hear everyone’s experiences.
My guess is that your doc had tests done and will tell you try the results at your appt. For mine, they did that, let me know how the surgery went and asked about my bleeding and how I was feeling. It was a super quick appt.
