Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Thursday 6/7

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Thursday 6/7

  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 21/6

    Timing: -4, -1, +1

    Typical LP length: 10

Testing: I tested today because I'm apparently masochistic. But also because I bought the cheapies specifically so I could curb my crazy by telling myself "If your symptoms are pregnancy symptoms you'll turn a test." It was obviously negative. I'm hoping to hold off until Sunday.

R/R: Rant-I seriously need something to do at work. Spending all day with no assignments and hovering over ttgp is not good for my psyche. Rave- my temp went up today, so that's good.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? I would probably say a deer, or something similarly shy but strong.

  • Month/Cycle: 7/8

    CD/DPO: 15/3

    Timing: -2,-1,O,+1

    Typical LP length: 13-14

    Testing: 11 dpo-ish, maybe

R/R:  Rave: Got my CH today and this is the sweet spot of the cycle... you know the work has been done but it's too early for the SS and crazies to set in.

CS/Q: My temps are all a lot lower than usual this cycle but whatever.

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?  I'm tired today so I want to say koala so I can sleep for 20 hours... but then I couldn't think of any other animals so I googled and found this quiz https://animalinyou.com/ and I got wolf.   :D  I'm not sure how I feel about that, lol.  Feel free to be lazy like me and take the quiz for your answer.  ;)
  • @Sparty18 I like how it says it's the most accurate personality test on the web. Haha! How exactly would you prove that? By turning yourself into an animal? I got a fox.

@meggyme wishing you all the best this weekend with your testing. I saw while lurking you're working on a truck, I believe. I hope it keeps your mind off the web.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 24/13

    Timing: -3,-2,0,2

Typical LP length: I've been on BC so long,  IDK

Testing: Stupidly did one y/d. I knew better. I'm going to try early Sunday before I have to travel for work. May still be too early (should wait until Tuesday/ Wednesday when AF is due)

R/R: just wish I could separate myself from the phone and from Google. I will be benched a month if BFN this cycle to change medications. I know many women are benched longer, so I'm grateful. I'm just impatient after TTA 2 years.

    CS/Q: not charting yet.

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
Well,  I definitely should have taken the quiz.
ETA (didn't save) I would say kangaroo bc they look cute but they'll box you if you test them.
  • @vl_16 Just an FYI, +2 is not in the FW so you wouldn't include it in your timing.  FW includes from -5 to +1; which means that @Sparty18 you could include -4 in your timing.

And actually +1 is included only because the egg lives for 12-24 hours after ovulation so if you ovulate late on O day then +1 could possibly catch the egg.

  • @lulu1180 I would normally count the -4, however, I had the SHG done the day after that, so it would have essentially killed off any sperm hanging around.
  • vl_16vl_16 member
@lulu1180 good to know. Appreciate the tip!
  • @meggyme When the testing urge gets strong, visit https://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=10 It helps to have some numbers. I don't know how accurate it is, but it helps me to have numbers. They have data for the various DPO.

    @Sparty18 Yay for CH!!

@vl_16 Fx for you! I hope AF stays away <3

    Month/Cycle: 17/14

    CD/DPO: 20/6

    Timing: -3, O, +1

    Typical LP length: 14-15 days

Testing: That's a big ol' nope. I was so tempted yesterday, but I fought the urge.

R/R: I am a little giggly today. Nothing major happening.

    CS/Q: -

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? Thanks @Sparty18. I am a penguin according to the quiz, although I hate the cold. Most of the time I feel like a sloth :)
  • vl_16vl_16 member
@meri-mac thank you for the kind wishes. And I'm totally going to use that testing website. Incredible!
Glad to hear you resisted the urge to test early!
  • That makes sense @Sparty18! I had wondered why you weren't counting it...

  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 23/9

    Timing:  good

    Typical LP length: 12

Testing:  Probably not until this weekend if AF doesn't show.

R/R: Meh, I was sick at the beginning of the cycle and my temps were all over the place. It took forever for FF to detect O this cycle and gave me different O dates when I played around with switching the interpretation from advanced to research. I'm pretty sure I'm 9dpo but I guess technically I could be 12. But based on opk I see no way it could be 12dpo. Patiently waiting for AF to show up.

CS/Q: No advice needed. Just posting for those who like to chart stalk.

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?   I'd have to say a cat. I am also obsessed with cats and freaking love everything about them. But my reasoning is that they get to pretty much do what they want, sleep all day, go cuddle when you want attention but can hide really good when needed. I could go on but I might come off as a crazy cat lady.
  • @Sparty18 I did the quiz and got porcupine. I don't know if I should take it as a compliment to how I am. I legit laughed out loud when my results came in. lol

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the laugh this morning.
  • @vl_16 yeah, we just bought one but it probably won't arrive for another couple weeks. We still have to arrange shipping it. How did you find your O day, opk's?

@meri-mac I found that last night. It still didn't end up helping. I think I just need to start convincing myself I'm not the 9.4% that get a faint positive on CD6. Haha. Maybe I need to make my hpt's less accessible or something.
    DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 29/11, AF due tomorrow

    Timing: -3, -2, O, +1

    Typical LP length: 11.5

Testing: I'm not gonna test again. If my temp goes up tomorrow I might, but otherwise I'm just wfaf. My test yesterday (10 dpo) was BFN, so...

R/R: Just feeling sorry for myself over here! My temp this morning was exactly the same as it was 11 dpo last month, so I'm pretty sure I know the result of this cycle. I'm so sad. I was sure I was going to be like 5 months pregnant for BIL's wedding this fall and that's super not going to happen now.

CS/Q:  What does a UTI feel like? I've never had one, but I've been having pain in the ute/bladder area. Apparently I'm not pregnant, so I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my body. I don't usually get cramps pre-AF, and I'm pretty sure it's not gas, so that leaves me with bladder infection or UTI. Pain in that area is literally my only symptom - no cloudy urine, fever, pain with urination, etc. I'm not peeing more than once every 1-2 hours, also.

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? The official Pottermore quiz says my Patronus is an Otter, so there's that. Apparently I'm a Wildcat according to @sparty18's quiz :D

@meggyme I know what you mean about hovering over TTGP. I open FF approximately 345678 times per day looking for new information, too. It's not good! What about listening to one of the podcasts people have recommended to get your mind off things?

@sparty18 I'm keeping my FX for you!

@meri-mac I spent way too much time on that coundowntopregnancy website yesterday. Ugh just grasping at straws over here!

@venessa08 FWIW I agree with the O date FF picked.

  • @vl_16 sounds like we’re in a similar boat and in a similar place in our journeys.

@meggyme I hope you find a way to stay sane! Patience is my weak point and I’m afraid to even buy more HPT for fear I’ll obsess. I have -one- at home right now and I’m hoping that if I hold off buying any until I actually should test I can avoid the crazies.

@nitnat007 lots of waiting and no firm answers doesn’t sound like fun at all :/ I hope the answers firm up soon!

    GTKY: I got bat.
  • @vl_16 I hope AF doesn't come!

@general_organa you have just introduced me to the fact that there is a quiz to find your Patronus. :o sorry about your BFN though. FX AF stays far far away!

@nitnat007 I hate trying to coordinate your cycle with the doctors available schedule. FX you get your appointment and some answers, preferable all the good ones.

    Month/Cycle: 13/13

    CD/DPO: 23/5

    Timing: -4, -1, +1

    Typical LP length: 11-13ish

    Testing: waiting for missing AF

R/R: This morning at work as TERRIBLE. Just super busy cleaning up after other people's mistakes  :|

    CS/Q:

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
I would say a cat, but that quiz gave me wild dog, @sparty18 . Not sure how I feel about that...hah.
  • @general_organa Yesss! I check FF multiple times a day, like something is going to pop up and say “ok, 6 days, 3 hours post O is an acceptable time to test. You’re totally ktfu”.

@vl_16 lurking and learning is a good place to start.

@nitnat007 I think I need to start a new book that I can read on my computer so I at least look like I’m working. That might help pass the time.

  • @meggyme It would get so slow at my old job, but the bosses were never around. So my supervisor and I used to just read books during downtime. We started an office library of books we thought the others would enjoy and just left them there for general use.
  • Hi Ladies, new to the bump.

    Month/Cycle: 6/4

    CD/DPO: 30/14dpo

Timing: not exactly sure what that means but af insnt due for another 4 days , long cycles

    Typical LP length: 16days

Testing: yesterday, today, again in 2 days

R/R: Getting pretty frustrated with all of this and kind of depressed. Had early mc beginning of the yr and really hoping for bfp. Sick of seeing bfns. / 4 tests between yest and today. 2 (same brand I see vfl) other 2 diff brands bfn. Could still be early but not counting self out yet.

CS/Q: late cycle! Even though 14dpo still possible for bfp just hasnt shown yet?

GTKY: dolphin, definitely a dolphin. Their fun and adventurous, always look like their smiling. Lol. I usually am very happy person.. but lately TTC has been stressing me ouuuttttt!

    Good luck ladies!

@valgal90 Hello and welcome to the bump. Please put a trigger warning on you R/R. It's preferred that losses aren't mentioned without giving other readers a fair warning that something like that is coming. Also, this is not the right thread for positive test results, so if you do get a positive, please just go on to the bmb.

And timing refers to how well timed your sex was. Most ladies either put good/okay/ or actual numbers like -1, O, +1

ETA: I would also suggest that you read the newbie guide and the bump guidelines posted at the top of the ttgp message board as well as introduce yourself in the intro thread.

  • @thrgirlwhowaited Thanks friend. I just wish I called and book it now since I know when my cycle is supposed to start up again. Super annoying when you have to handle other peoples mess at work. Hope it gets down quickly. And, I think a wild dog is pretty awesome as long as it isn't the rabid kind  :#

@meggyme Totally guilty of reading a book at work lol! But I also spend WAY too much time on the bump too, lurking all the BMB's. I need a new distraction too.

@valgal90 Welcome! And I am very sorry for your loss.
I see you are new here. There is a "Newbies Read This First" thread pinned at the top of the board that I highly recommend reading. It has all the acronyms listed, as well as some helpful tips and the basic guidelines that we follow here on TTGP.
  • @meggyme You beat me to it!

@nitnat007 there haven't been any juicy threads on the bmb's lately. Everyone is so drama free, at least from the casual lurker. Whenever a new one comes out I hope for a big UO or FFFC thread to sink my teeth into, but lately they've been so tame and civilized... :confounded:

  • @thrgirlwhowaited cleaning up other people's mistakes at work is the worst. That used to be half of my job when I was still working full time. Also, you just have to have a Pottermore account to take the Patronus quiz. It doesn't let you retake it, so you get what you get!

@vl_16 I'm sure the newbie thread mentions this at least once, but we always recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It fills in many many gaps left by poor sex education/biology class on what actually is entailed in getting pregnant. Fertility Friend (the app) has tons of information built into their Education section as well. Another great thing to watch is "The Great Sperm Race". The last time I watched it, it was in 6 parts on YouTube and I think it's about an hour long. It's very educational and a good thing to make husbands watch too!

@general_organa thank you for all the recommendations!!! Will definitely watch The Great Sperm Race with DH.

I saw Taking Charge of Your Fertility was recommended. I'll definitely pick that up. I've stayed away from FF simply because I don't want to lose my mind obsessing over my chart. But I'm sure it's very helpful for locating ovulation and LP length and it will be next on my list. OB wants me tracking my cycles since I've been on BC so long.
  • @vl_16 you can also use FF to chart things like CM or OPK’s without doing temps. It just helps you see your cycle as a pattern instead of isolated incidents.

    Typical LP length: 14 days

Testing: 7DPO and again this morning - two BFNs

R/R: Some spotting around CD6 really had be thinking it was IB, because that literally never happens to me out of nowhere. Stupidly I got my hopes up. Now I think AF is coming early which is weird because my cycles hardly differ ever. Maybe the stress is starting to get to me.

  • @hoodevil0611 haha! We might be long lost twins. I’m 5’11” as well and obviously a fellow POAS addict. I do find that my weakness today has fought off the urge at least until this weekend. I’m aiming for at least Sunday before I test again. But weekends are busier and a better distraction, so maybe I’ll make it to Monday/10dpo.

Solidatiry to all the POAS, check app 273972 times a day crazy biz. Ive been trying really hard this cycle to step away from the phone as much as possible durring the tww because I was reaching an unhealthy level of obsessed lasy month.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD/DPO: ETA CD25

    Timing: sucky

    Typical LP length: ?

Testing: tomorrow becuase we are headed out on a camping trip with my parents and i really dont want to deprive myself of drinking all the beer if its not worth it.

R/R: this is the first month i havnt really had any symptoms to spot at all so im feeling like its a no for sure but then this little voice in the back of my mind tells me “it will be this cycle since you are not expecting it”. Its a never ending cycle of crazy in my head.

    CS/Q:none

GTKY: If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?

A bear: busy busy all summer. Stuffing my face all fall. Wanting to check out and sleep all winter and making my clow reapreance in spring. And i feel like a bear would get hangry and i get hangey at least once a week.
  • @general_organa I made an account yesterday and I'm in Hufflepuff and my Patronus is a badger.
  • @thrgirlwhowaited Sorry for bumping this, but I couldn't resist. I am a Ravenclaw and my patronus is a tortoise shell cat. It's my cat! Although, I don't know how useful she'd be in fighting off dementors.
  • @general_organa @thrgirlwhowaited @meri-mac I'm Hufflepuff with a wild rabbit patronus. Fun :)
