Re: APRIL FET

Hi @morganelizabeth123  June 5th. I have so far remained away from the pee-sticks. Not that it has helped - I'm just googling implantation signs now!! I've got mild cramps - but according to various accounts from Dr Internet that can indicate that implantation has happened or it can indicate that implantation has not happened, or it could just be from the progesterone. Not helpful Internet!!!!

  • I’ve been going on the January moms board...but I really don’t like it, haha. They have so many rules and they’re kind of nasty if someone doesn’t follow them or post outside the guide lines. Also not helpful at all...if some one ask about a symptom they get responses like “ask your doctor, not us”.
I miss following everyone’s story over here.
How is everyone feeling? I know a few of us(myself included) were having some hardcore morning sickness.
Also has anyone been released from their RE yet?! I’m hoping to be this coming Thursday!!

  • @TruStory I am right there with you, I do not like the bmb either.  I feel like most of the topics I am interested in, like the PGAL or PGAI check ins, require structured responses,  so we are all just answering 8 questions instead of having a conversation. Maybe eventually people comment on each others answers,  but mostly it's just the form responses.  Also, last time I was on a board they had a schedule for Product Spotlight, so if I wanted to talk about car seats or something I would be SOL because 'we' aren't starting that thread for another month or two. I thought that was so silly.
    I miss everyone here too.
@J1006 I hope you got your blood results yesterday and that everything looked good. Fingers crossed for a July fet!
  • @j1006 I’m sorry about your grandmother! Hope your FET goes before the end of summer like your hoping.

@TruStory I think I’m going to try the December board at some point since I’m due the 2nd but the reality is my docs said already Christmas week if I can make it that long. I’m released last Friday :) seems like a long wait right?!

@morganelizabeth123 I bet there is nothing really to talk about till people have testing going on. I don’t really have any questions which is why I prefer this board bc if I do I’ll go on he high risk board to ask. Which like the others are prob super strict with questions too. How far are you now?

Hey, April buddies! @J1006 So sorry you're looking at another delay with some abnormal results - hope whatever it is is an easy fix and you can move on to a summer FET as planned! @TruStory I've been mainly hanging out on the January board - mostly in the PGAL thread and the weekly EDD thread that applies to me. I actually feel more hesitant about moving over to PAIF. I feel like I want to make sure this pregnancy actually has a chance before moving over there. I got released from my RE a couple of weeks ago at 6+4. I was so upset! My last clinic followed their patients until 12 weeks - my current one apparently only follows patients until their first u/s. My GP has been good about taking over my care until I see my OB in July. She gave me a req for more u/s to help ease my mind. @mcgeeva Glad things are still going well for you. If I actually get a THB, I will likely have a Dec baby too. I've never gone past 38 weeks before so I'm thinking a Christmas week or week after baby. My EDD is Jan 7th. @roisis Are you still planning on testing tomorrow? GL! @northbeach3 Do you have anymore betas scheduled? AFM, had a 3rd u/s today at 8+5 and baby is still measuring right on track. Tech wouldn't tell me the HR since they're not allowed to say anything, but she did show me baby bouncing around and let me hear the HB. She said everything looked good, so I hope she's right. I feel so superstitious about posting updates, so sorry I've been MIA. The PGAL brain is strong over here. Still haven't told anyone but one friend who knew about our IVF and don't plan on telling anyone else until at least July. Physically, I'm feeling pretty awful, but I guess I shouldn't complain. It's pretty hard to function every day though.

  • @tosh24 so great to see your update! Happy for the great us news. I’m also shocked your re discharges you after first us. What week will ob visits start?

Afm, beta 4 on Tuesday and if still going well, us 1 6/15 (7w) and 6/29 (9w). this time around is pretty diff from last BFP. Significantly less nausea but still sore nipples, fatigue, and frequent peeing. I’m still under 6w though so maybe that’s why less ms? Trying to remind my brain it’s ok. At least I hope so. I totally feel you on PGAL worries. Don’t be a stranger!

    Thanks everyone <3

@tosh24 If things are positive, my clinic will also release me after my first u/s at 7wks. Basically they confirm heart beat and then send me on my merry way - my RE doesn't even see me in that case! Only if it doesn't work or if something goes wrong does the RE see me and talk about next steps. Also I'll only get the one u/s - and possibly only one Beta, I'm quite jealous of the level on monitoring ye all seem to get!

@roisis I hear you - it would be nice to have the extra few weeks of follow through with the RE. I wonder if the system is just different in the US because it's user-fee based? I'm in Canada so we have a universal healthcare system like the UK does, so maybe it's because the system is different? All the extra monitoring would be costing taxpayers money instead of just costing the individual money. In Canada, primary obstetric care is done by family physicians until mid-way through second tri, so all my first tri monitoring, prenatal testing, and even anatomy scan is ordered and coordinated through my family doctor. Because my family doctor knows my history well, she agreed to send me for extra ultrasounds to help my anxiety level. Maybe you could ask for more monitoring from your healthcare provider once you are released from your RE?

@tosh24 Here in Ireland IVF isn't covered by the government either - it's only private clinics that do it - and insurance will only cover up to €1000 off one single treatment. So it pretty much is oop for everyone here too. But there is a huge difference in the price - it is soo much cheaper here than some prices I've seen from the US. Also the meds here are very cheap because of a government initiative whereby you can get a 'drugs payment card' whereby you only pay a maximum of €134 in any one calendar month for any prescribed medication. This is the true lifesaver for financing IVF here. But still, the clinics are only charging a fraction of the prices in the US so I guess don't quite give the same level of monitoring! I still quite like my clinic though - counselling is included in the price (even after treatments) which I think is a very nice touch. To follow up here, I'd go to my GP and get put into the official pre-natal system and then either go public and wait for an appointment or I can pay to go to a private doc. These are hopefully decisions I'll be making next week :)

  • @roisis Congrats! Good luck with your BETA today!

@tosh24 wow that seems so early to be released. I suppose to be released on Thursday and I’ll be 8+6...then I’m scheduled to stop my PIO on 9+4. I’d be going nuts having to wait so long after the 6 weeks. Even though I’m sure I’m going to be going nuts with the spacing of appointments at the OBGYN.

@morganelizabeth123 Those are my thoughts exactly. Like can’t we all just be happy to be pregnant, due in January and talk to one another without a schedule. Haha!

@mcgeeva  I will check out the December board but I’m due 1/11 so I feel like I can’t really get away with that. Plus I was wondering if all the BMB are structured like January’s.  Have you been released from you RE yet??

  • @TruStory I did at my 8 week sono and that day also had my first ob apt. I’m sure they are all the same. People are super opinionated! But you get such a mix you get rediculous questions but the nice thing is they have within December a high risk check in, paif, etc so I have tried to join those groups. I found Artemis on dec so that was nice!

@morganelizabeth123 I got a positive Beta at 94   My clinic only does the one so they're happy for me to continue along with meds and just come back for a scan at 7wks. At first I was concerned cos I know so many people go in for multiple Betas and take note of doubling times, but if this is what they do I've just decided to trust them and be happy <3

@j1006 I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, that is so hard on top of everything else going on. Best of luck with your new blood results, here's hoping you can get going again as soon as possible <3

It's so lovely to hear how everyone is getting on <3 I have lurked in a few other boards (as matter of curiosity really) and generally there is a different vibe to here, so I can understand all your hesitation.

@tosh24 That's wonderful news on your 3rd u/s - I'm delighted to hear that! I can understand the PGAL brain - I guess just take each positive step as it comes <3<3

And yes - I did poas this morning - I'm not sure if spoilers are still the thing here - but just in case!! Results:

I got a rather faint but definitely there BFP  I'm 10dp5dt and have my beta on Tuesday so I'm cautiously optimistic at this point! Myself and DH are in a shocked daze - not sure what to do with ourselves!!!
    It's a nice feeling <3

    Omg!!!! Just saw this!!!!!

@dragonette505 Oh no, I'm sorry you're still feeling so awful. I started to feel like I turned a corner the last couple of days but it all seems to have come back in the last 2 hours. I really hope you start to feel better soon and find something that works for you.

Who else is coming off their progesterone soon? My RE said to stop at 10 weeks which is today but I feel so weird about stopping cold turkey. Since I did a natural FET I do have a corpus luteum that is making hormones so I'm just kind of supplementing my natural production, but I'm still anxious about stopping. I have enough extra pills to taper off this week so I think I might do that. Anyone else?

@tosh24 I did last week!  It’s glorious :). I weaned off after 11 weeks (and a day), so once a day for 11+2-5 days then that was supposed to be it (but I’m paranoid and did just one more suppository two days after that so did last one at 11w6d).  RE just said to be off of it by 12 weeks.  I also did a natural cycle FET.  Yay for double digits :)

@dragonette505 Sorry to hear you’re so miserable - I’m still feeling nauseous and tired even though I keep hearing it’s supposed to ease up any day now.  My nausea didn’t even start til 8 weeks... My OB gave me Zofran (the generic) at my 12 week visit last week, but I’m kind of scared to take it as my nausea isn’t *that* bad (I’m just over it already).  Hope you feel better soon!

Edit:  still bad at fertility math...Still did regular dose (2x/day) at 11w1d - not that it makes a huge difference, but just to cover the day discrepancy between RE and OB due dates :p

  • @tosh24 I stop my meds tomorrow at 9+4. I’m super nervous about it too. Don’t get me wrong I’m totally over the suppositories and the PIO but I’m so scared something is going to go wrong once I stop. My RE released me at 8+6 and said I like could have stopped a week prior but they keep us on as a precaution. My first OB appointment is Thursday though, and I do go for a quick blood draw on friday just to make sure my levels are good.

@dragonette505 I’m right there with you. I’ve missed so much work because I have days I can’t even stand with out uncontrollably dry heaving till I feel like I’m going to pass out. This started at about 6+3 and it’s still going but I am managing it a little better. Have you tried the sea bands? I live in them. They’ve been a life saver. Also Vitamin C Halls!!!
    Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the input, ladies! I started tapering yesterday and did a half dose yesterday and today. Tomorrow I will go down to 1/4 dose for a few days, then I'm done! So, so, so, so happy to be done with meds!!!! @mcgeeva Crap! I was so hoping that less progesterone in my system would mean a decrease in some symptoms. Hope you start to feel better soon.

  • How’s everyone doing?
I had a real scare yesterday when I went from spoting to full on bleeding. We went to the ER. They did an US and thankfully baby is ok, but I was diagnosed with a friable cervix. I’m 10+3 so the bleeding really scared the s*** out of me.
