My husband and I did our first IUI (intrauterine insemination) last month which unfortunately ended in a chemical pregnancy. Since we got pregnant with IUI, does that mean an HSG is not necessary?
*I know most get an HSG before IUI but this was not the case for me.
I believe the Fallopian tubes are needed with IUI (intrauterine insemination) so I assume mine are ok since we did conceive? Thoughts?
Ask your doctor. The HSG can show more than just tubes being open, like fibroids, polyps, scarring in the uterine lining, etc. You never know, you could only have 1 tube open...there's no telling. It's an easy dye test...I'd probably do it so could be 100% sure everything is ok. My gf had one done and found her tubes had scar tissue all over them from a surgery when she was a baby.
