Father's Day Ideas

This will be my husband's first father's day! Trying to think of a cute idea. I thought about taking DD to a local pottery place and having a grilling plate or coffee mug made with her handprints on it. But I feel like that's kind of cliché, so I don't know. haha

What are you guys planning to do? Any cute ideas for this year, or from years past?

Re: Father's Day Ideas

  • This will be my SO first fathers day too. I was looking on etsy, just dont think I’ll be able to have anything made/sent in time. So, I was thinking of something simple, maybe a photo of us to put at his desk at work.
  • I am actually getting my husband some cologne this year.  I like the pottery idea...

Last year I think I got some father and son socks from Target.  Oh wait, I got him fancy floor liners for his car... Laser cut.

My husband is nearly impossible to shop for.  Always a challenge.

  • I like the pottery idea as well! Haven't decided what to get my husband for this father's day yet, but for his first, I ordered an engraved watch box and watch from Things Remembered with a "message" from our little girl. It was really affordable, came quickly, and he seemed to like that he could have something to remind him of her everyday (like I have my birthstone necklace).  :)
  • So I set up a lawn care service for my husband so he could spend his time with us rather than mowing the lawn on the weekends. It can take him close to 2 hours just because our lot is so hill-y and it definitely took some stress off him.

  • I am thinking of scanning in our US images and making a picture book out of them. Of course, this would be a gift that both of us would enjoy, but feel like getting it done is a gift to him since that's not really his bag. We have a ton of images since we had so much additional monitoring. I have also already told him that the day of is his to do as he pleases: we can all go to breakfast and then whatever he wants - whether he wants to go play golf or do something else out of the house - his choice.
