  • @noideawhatshesdoing LOL @ the gym rival situation, I totally get it.

I don't know if I'm comfortable enough having the bump totally exposed so I might be the weirdo swimming in a cover up. I don't want to buy a maternity swimsuit at this  point plus I don't know if I'd even feel better in one.

  • @runsomewhere what about a rash guard? Not even sure if they make maternity ones but that’s usually my go to when I want to swim without showing my belly. I wore a maternity one piece bathing suit at a water park last weekend that I got for like $15 on sale at motherhood.
  • @zande2016 I do have a rash guard that I wear surfing but it's really fitted so it won't fit. Maybe I'll look at an inexpensive option at Motherhood or Target.

  • @runsomewhere totally understand where you are coming from and I second wearing a rashguard (or larger, wicking workout tank would work too, right?) or a tank top to cover the bump with regular bikini.

I will say, however, that a friend of mine posted a blog post many years back after either her first or second kid about her experience wearing a swim dress cover up to a water park...she was basically like, "no one there was even close to a perfect body, they were all wearing whatever they wanted, including bikinis, and making sure their kids didnt die, and I looked like an idiot in my long sleeve swim dress so I said eff it and took it off and no one cared" THis was an indoor water park, mind you, but when I went to an indoor waterpark 9 months preggo last time around you best bet this helped me drag my ass out in a pre pregnancy bikini and the ONLY comment I got was, "You win the day, momma. You are rockin that." And I have not even close to a perfect body (like size 10-12 usually). So there's that, for what its worth!
  • @noideawhatshesdoing I totally chuckled out loud at you feeling like baymax. In your pictures from your shower you look absolutely nothing like baymax so I hope that helps. You’ll be able to have your body back soon!

@runsomewhere I second the opinion for a tank top over the bikini! I got a SUPER cheap tank at Walmart and it’s seriously one of my favorite maternity things ever. I hope you end up having a nice time and the anxieties float away!
  • @runsomewhere I say rock the bikini with the bump out! I actually tried on a pre pregnancy bikini last night and found that I felt pretty good in it bc I’m usually self conscious about my belly but when there’s a baby in there there’s no reason to be  :) Also I have some hips/thighs and I feel like the belly sort of evened those out lol I’m sure you look amazing in your pre pregnancy swimwear and I think people generally think pregnant bellies are cute  :)
  • @wildtot I hope you decided to just let go at Costco, I hate when people have no sense of space, besides, you're all cute and pregnant, so even if you do something gross, people give you a pass!

@hillbillywife Lol. Thanks re: the shower pics. I just don't even recognize myself when I walk by a mirror. So weird. Also, Ms. Six Pack abs gym rival just texted me and said she's teaching 3 routines at tomorrow morning's workout and wanted to know if I'd be there. Ugh, of course now I have to get my Baymax ass out of bed because I can still somehow still tie my shoes and can't not be there.
  • @runsomewhere I've been rocking bikinis in Hawaii and a bare bump and I don't give 1 f about it. I'm actually going to the beach solo tomorrow afternoon since DH is at his videogame marathon and I plan on giving all these Newport Beach barbies a run for their money, lol. But I know it's hard to adjust to this larger bodies, so I second the tankini option. I even got one at Target for my honeymoon last year and it was super comfortable even on a non preggo body!

I have done maybe 1.5 Hours of work today and it's noon. I have absolutely no motivation and it's been a long week. I might call it a day after my doc appointment at 230...

@noideawhatshesdoing I'm sorry about how you're feeling! I've definitely been there...and I'm currently avoiding drama as much as possible. Thankfully my family situation is very chill but I've had ups and downs with some friends and I'm like...stay away!
  • @zande2016 Sounds like you made a good call. You need to be able to take care of yourself. Hugs!

@kissableviv Thanks. I'm just being a crabby lady these days, and I don't even care. I guess I sort of feel like if I can push the drama people away now, I don't have to deal with them next month when I'm learning all about my new baby!

Also, we have summer Friday's at my company, meaning we close at 2. I've pretty much done no work today, and I'm thinking I'm going to take a long lunch.
  • @zande2016 no shame and hope you get to relax a bit!
  • @noideawhatshesdoing i'm right there with you...i have zero fucks when my staff comes to me whiny - i've gotten to the "figure it out - I won't be here soon and what are you going to do then!?" stage
@runsomewhere DO IT.  I was totally thinking of a pedicure after my OB appointment at 3 instead of signing back on...i didn't get around to shaving my legs and i'm trying to determine if i care....

  • I got a matetnity tankini from motherhood when pregnant with my first and it was seriously my favorite even when I got back down to prepregnancy weight. It had great breast support and fit well everywhere else too
  • @zande2016 no shame! sounds like a good call if you ask me- you need a break! I’m glad your boss was so understanding

@noideawhatshesdoing I don’t recognize myself at first glance in pictures anymore. I made the mistake of scrolling through my instagram the other day and full on cried because I used to be so skinny lol

FFFC: I don’t normally buy DS things at the store because I don’t want to spoil him and I hate the “can I get that?!” kids. But we went to target and I let him pick out some new hotwheels and a ball so I could have some peace and quiet tonight. So far, success! Two hours until bed time routine begins and I’m getting my shamu butt into a tub.
  • @acunamatada I saw a picture from my honeymoon and was like HOLY ABS. glad I got to enjoy a few months of toned body before pregnancy though!

I love Last Man Standing and I’m really happy they got picked up by a new network.
  • @zande2016 no shame in your game. You need the rest and I’m glad you’re getting it. You don’t want to burn yourself out and at this point, you and baby are priority.
  • @zande2016 good for you! rest!
  • @acunamatada Hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Special treat for DS and sanity for mama... It's a win-win. Let's face it, by Friday this far along it's all about surviving, not thriving.

On that note, my absolutely horrible confession is that my son is super sick right now, hit full blast a few hours ago, and my first thought was "kid, please don't make me spend $200 to take you to the ER this weekend." Oh my gosh, I felt so bad that THAT was my first thought. Ugh, someone slap me. I then remembered my pediatrician office is open 7 days/ wk for same day sick appointments and mentally apologized by letting the poor sicko fall asleep cuddling on the couch.

  • @d_marie_23 poor guy! I hope he feels better soon! (With no trip to the ER!)
  • @SmashJam I always get the notifications but I've never once followed them, lol. For me it's the GoFundMe for non crucial things. I mean, a friends' treatments, OF COURSE, that's a no brainer. A friend of a friend raising some costs to adopt, ABSOLUTELY. A severely premature baby, YES. But when someone posts the millionth link to their pet's latest (and like, 20th) non-emergency medical expense, I'm out.
