Hi everyone! I’m new to the bump community and look forward to sharing my journey with you all. I just got off the pill on Monday, May 21st. How soon should I buy a fertility kit? I was thinking of buying one this month but since I just got off birth control, thought maybe I should wait. I’ve heard many different stories of women getting pregnant right after they got off the pill, while others it takes them months to a year. Any suggestions?
Re: Fertility kits
It can take a healthy couple 12 months to conceive. How gung ho you want to be about it is up to you. This board is more for people waiting to start TTC. There’s a lot of information on the TTGP board.
Ovulation prediction kits, basal body temp tracking, cervical mucus charting, there are lots of options if you want to try to get pregnant ASAP. If you’re a bit more casual about it, having sex every other day is generally the rule of thumb.
Last time I ttgp we did try the first month I got off bc but I also used it as a month of really getting to know my body. I went through a lot of ovulation prediction kits (opks) my first month and doing the things meggyme mentioned. So if it were a friend asking the same question i would say get the fertility kit. I used an app/website called fertility friend (ff) and a book called taking taking charge of your fertility. Both the app and the book are widely suggested on these boards. They will also go into more depth of the things meggyme has mentioned.
I hope your stay on these boards are short. Glean as much info as you can. Good luck!
