Figured it would be fun to start a non baby thread of fun things that happened with pregnancy, extra kind things people did because you are pregnant, or things you got out of doing.
Mine is I got out of bathing two stinky dogs because DH said I shouldn't be doing that so he did! I was OK helping but he took it over caused some anxiety for me listening but it all worked out ok!
I don't have to bleach the bathroom. That's nice. Last time when I was huge towards the end, people let me skip ahead in lines. Oh and sometimes free dessert at restaurants!
I work night shifts, and we usually take all our breaks at once and lay down. We give the charge nurse our cell number and they call us when our break is done. They keep giving me extra break time, and the last two shifts they’ve sent me home a bit early (like 15 minutes) when the unit isn’t busy.
Literally nothing, ever, so far in this pregnancy and nothing last! DH wanted me to help him move the couch, I was like umm no. I asked last pregnancy if the flight attendant would help put my bag up and was told nope.
Once I got big with DS, old men always offered to return my cart after I’d loaded up groceries. That was probably it. But I’m ok with that because it usually bugs me when people assume I can’t do something just because I’m pregnant.
Last pregnancy when I was big there was an old man that said wow pregnant women are the most beautiful thing. I was kinda creeped out at that comment. Glad I'm finally getting noticed as pregnant. It took so long last time I wasn't showing at all at this point.
I get out of having to lift all the heavy parts at work. I’m a bigger girl and can usually hold my own without asking for help, but now all the guys at work are stepping up and doing all the heavy lifting! And 90% of the time I don’t have to ask
This thread is making me smile. Nothing has happened to me unless you count my husband finally buying me the pressure cooker I wanted yesterday lol. It'll cut down the cooking time on some traditional dishes I cook from my husband's country so I don't have to stand so long!
Seats on the subway! And I am using it to ask for a standing desk at work. Also got upgraded to comfort plus on a plane when I asked if there was an aisle seat because of having to get up to pee.
I didn't have to carry boxes out of my future mother in law's apartment when we were helping her move in this weekend. My job was to ride in the elevator and push the buttons, and hold the doors open. Also, my actors keep rushing over to move set pieces at rehearsal so I don't have to!
@hellopartyof5 same with me! With DS I was due mid October as well and could have been out until the first week of January. That's out busiest quarter at work. I went back 7 weeks pp so I missed the Halloween and black Friday rush. This time I plan to be out until January. Everyone at work jokes I times it like that on purpose! Haha
Currently using this pregnancy as an excuse to buy new clothes for after baby is here. I've already bought several new flowy shirts and dresses to hide the postpartum pooch. I keep telling DH that I need them for breastfeeding. lol
