I didn't see one of these started yet for today and I've been MIA lately so I figured I'd contribute and get us started!
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
2. How are you feeling?
3. Any appointments coming up?
4. R/R/Q?
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
Re: Friday Ticker Change 5/18 | EDD 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, 12/28
10 weeks! Double digits! Baby is the size of a strawberry/butterfly
2. How are you feeling?
I feel fine... which has caused me a lot of anxiety the last few days. I'm worried it means something is wrong...I hate not being able to know for certain. I can't wait to get to the point where I can regularly feel the baby move so I can stop freaking out. Other than that I'm just really tired and emotional..
3. Any appointments coming up?
I have my first official intake prenatal appointment on Tuesday. I guess they will do a second ultrasound and all the blood work etc. I'm kind of anxious because DH cannot make it because of work. I'm just paranoid I'll get bad news (despite having a strong ultrasound a few weeks ago) and I'll have to get the news all alone...But i was worried before that first appointment and it was all fine. Hopefully I can keep reminding myself of that.
4. R/R/Q?
Rant - I've been kind of annoyed with DH lately. I feel like he hasn't been super sympathetic to me being pregnant and having a hectic crazy work schedule right now (7 days a week from 4:30am-3:30pm). I know I'm moody and keep snapping at him but I'm just so exhausted and he just seems to not get that and I really wish he would pick up some of the slack around the house right now, especially since it's a disaster and we have family coming to visit next week and a couple weeks after that...
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
I get to work outdoors in nature which is awesome. My least favorite part is all the paperwork involved to do what I do, particularly applying for state and federal permits.
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good which is worrying! Haha. Very tired, crusty nipples, boated. I spotted yesterday which freaked me out but I haven’t noticed anything today. Phew
3. Any appointments coming up? 2nd US Thursday which I am very very excited for. We’re flying home to visit our parents the next day so we’ll uss the pictures to show them.
4. R/R/Q? My husband has been the best. I was really worried he’d be more like what you’re experiencing @nerdeebird since this is our first and neither of us know what we’re doing. But he’s been really great and thoughtful.
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living? I am a sales team manager so I basically just deal with people and their egos/problems all day. I used to love it but I am feeling very impatient lately and just can’t take the BS. I’m sure some of my reps are wondering WTH is wrong with me lately lol.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
11 weeks, lime, which seems like a huge leap from strawberry!
2. How are you feeling?
Overall, not too bad. Nausea is basically gone. I'm still tired. I had this trip to Dublin planned with friends since December and it was a little hard to keep up with them, but it was a fun trip anyway. I just came back last night and had a voicemail from my dr saying I have a uti and need a prescription to treat it. I get utis a lot and usually I have way worse symptoms. I just assumed the very frequent need to pee was a normal pregnancy thing. Now that I think of it, my urine has been a bit cloudy and I've also had some random pain, but I didn't think too much of it. Now that I know I have one I am freaking out a bit. I've been hospitalized for a uti that spread to my kidneys so I want to start meds ASAP, but it seems like I can't get the script called in until Monday since their office is closed. I am asking my SIL, who is an ob-gyn, to call one in for me. Hopefully my dr will not be annoyed by that.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Nothing this week, but we have our NT scan next Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to that appointment being behind us. I plan to tell my advisor at that point and also more extended family.
4. R/R/Q?
Rant: I had a really terrible travel experience yesterday. Dublin has pre-clearance for flights to the US, so we did customs as part of our security process. It was the first time I tried to use my global entry and I was pulled into a special waiting room for an "admissibility review." I was in there for 45+ minutes. I was so paranoid I was going to miss my flight that I started crying. My friend who does not have global entry was through passport control in 5 minutes. I don't understand why it happened and I'm worried it's going to happen again. I just want to get rid of global entry at this point but I don't know if that is possible. Of course five minutes after arriving at my gate they announced my flight was delayed. We ended up with a 5 hour delay. Ugh.
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
I love the flexibility of being in a PhD program. Other than class and meetings with my advisor, I can work where and when I want. This is a blessing and a curse since I sometimes lack motivation. Overall I am enjoying what I'm studying though which is helpful. The worst part is my stipend -- it's pitiful!9 weeks, cherry
2. How are you feeling?
Much better. I was nauseated yesterday afternoon and evening but, other than that, I haven't had nausea or digestive tract burning ("heartburn" does not cover what I had) in a week. My RE said that I should not expect to feel better until next week but I started all this fun early (4 weeks) so maybe I'm ending early too? Food aversions are a tiny bit better too. This morning I may have actually been able to contemplate drinking coffee but we don't have electricity at the moment so it wasn't an option.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Tuesday will be the first appointment with my ob/gyn although I just discovered that he delivers babies at the hospital that is almost an hour from my house rather than the one 25 min away (which is very close to his office) so I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping him.
4. R/R/Q?
I'm trying to finish my masters. I have to submit my proposal by Monday. I gave it to my committee 2 weeks ago and one of them still has not read it. It's 15 pages but really only maybe 8 to be read. I went through a bunch of shenanigans yesterday to get it signed by my committee and then the biomedical science program director scolded me and said that her signature is the only one required. The two of my committee members that were there looked at her like she was nuts. We're all pretty sure that she's absolutely wrong but it was frustrating.
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
I love working in a lab. I was the immunology lead at my old job so I was in charge of the science that came out of our lab even though I only have a Bachelor's at the moment. I moved to a job that will be more family friendly (no long hours, better pay, no working with ebola) but at the new job I'm a high level tech. The PhD in my group is remarkably bad at experiment design and application of logic. It's driving me crazy.
@abowls - yikes! that's a long drive while in labor! Do you really like your OB so far?
@kadeephd that's nuts what you had to go through at the airport. I hope it was just because it was your first time using it, and it won't happen again. Speaking of security, did you let them know you were pregnant to avoid the scan? During my last trip there was an announcement not to go through the scanner if you were expecting, and to have a manual pat down instead. I did not realize that was a thing before then!
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
9 weeks. Baby is the size of a pecan.
2. How are you feeling?
I had been feeling nauseated and all around crappy, but in the last few days my symptoms have mostly disappeared. Still tired though!
3. Any appointments coming up?
I have my NIPT appt. on the 28th. I'll be 10 weeks 3 days, and I'm a little nervous it will be too early.
4. R/R/Q?
Rant: This is a silly rant but all the foods I'm craving are not available here in Germany, or are crazy hard to find! I just want my Reeses Puffs, DQ Blizzards, Olga's Salads, and Buffalo Chicken Wings!
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
I'm currently just a student, but back in the States I'm an elementary teacher. I miss my students so much. Leaving my job and school was one of the hardest parts of moving away from home.
Hi ladies! I'm shifting over a day from Saturday (but a day late) based on my last RE/first OB appointment this past Tuesday. At all my RE appointments the past 4 weeks they were like you're X weeks 3 days - then when I got the paperwork and saw my OB he calculated based on a day 6 transfer instead of day 5, so I "gained" a day
@nerdeebird Your work schedule makes me tired just thinking about it. Will it continue that way for a while? Hang in there!
@kadeephd Yikes - that sounds like a horrible first experience with global entry. I'd been thinking about it but DH & I hardly travel these days. I'm glad you didn't miss your flight but to have a five hour delay after that stress is annoying. Also sorry about the UTI - so unpleasant. I'm also prone to them & generally take macrobid after intercourse as a prophylactic for them. Handy that your SIL is an ob/gyn. I saw the following earlier this year: https://www.self.com/story/what-you-need-to-know-about-treating-a-uti-while-pregnant Does she have any thoughts on it? It's made me not want to take macrobid lately (I know an infection is worse)...at least not for several more weeks. That gif's pretty awesome.
@abowls I don't know why, but hadn't until recently considered that your OB somewhat determines where you'll deliver. A friend recently switched from her previous OB whom she liked perfectly fine, but didn't want to deliver where he did. Definitely something to consider. Not working with ebola is a nice job pro.
@deutschmama Good to know about the airport scan. As I said, I haven't been traveling much lately, but we hope to take a babymoon somewhere at some point.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
Nine weeks (and a day) - cherry- or olive-sized
2. How are you feeling?
You know, I thought I was going to be one of those lucky ones who didn't have nausea (I've only been this pregnant once before and didn't have any....of course, *TW* that didn't end well), but apparently it just kicked in a little late (at 8 weeks or so). So tired, and nauseous/food averse. But grateful not to be yakking.
3. Any appointments coming up?
No - next one's not for 3 long weeks (6/8), which feels a little tragic (pardon the melodrama) since I'd gotten used to weekly scans from the RE. Also that appointment will be just 2 days after my *TW* first pregnancy loss point. So I just sit here and wait and hope for the best.
4. R/R/Q?
These sea band things aren't doing crap for the nausea (even confirmed with my acupuncturist this morning that I was putting them in the right spot). *sigh* Also sometimes I wonder if I'm more tired just 'cause I'm old.
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
My favorite part I guess is that it's low stress and I have very regular hours. My least favorite part is that I often have literally nothing to do and it's kind of mind-numbing. But trade-offs for now...

@artemis618 My SIL said to just wait until Monday to get a script from my dr since I don't have symptoms really. I think she doesn't want to step on any toes since she is not my ob. I do trust both her and my ob to choose prescriptions that do not pose birth defect risks. My dr mentioned in the voicemail that she was planning to prescribe a penicillin type medication, which is considered safe. I'd prefer not to be on an antibiotic during pregnancy, but I've been hospitalized previously for an untreated uti so it's more important that I take care of it.
10w (and some now LOL, I’m late) strawberry
2. How are you feeling?
Still super sick and exhausted. Anxiety is still awful
3. Any appointments coming up?
nothing for a few weeks.
4. R/R/Q?
I did the SneakPeek test and I’m having a baby GIRL!
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living?
I’m a phlebotomist and I love the patient interaction!
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. Worried everything will hit late like last time .
3. Any appointments coming up? Just had an Nipt and waiting for resultson Tuesday .
4. R/R/Q? I vowed to never move again while pregnant. It was a nightmare . Well...we're moving again .everything is super expensive and OK for when I have the baby and I'm back to work but spreads us too thin while I'm still pregnant and saving all extra money to cover my maternity leave. It's becoming more and more stressful every day.
5. What's your favorite/least favorite part of what you do for a living? Favorite thing is the 4 top people at my job are women .(including me) .and we're all very close nit. Least favorite: The supervisors I supervise act like toddlers and I just barely make my deadlines because, due to their immaturity, they need an incredible amount of oversight. They're also breathtakingly stupid . I don't use that term lightly . I wouldn't have promoted half of them. Whewww.....felt good to get THAT off my chest.
