June 2018 FET

Anyone else doing a FET in June?  This will be my second FET.  I had a fresh transfer in January and a FET in April.  *tw* Both resulted in a CP.  Hopefully 3rd transfer is a charm!  I started the bcp on Wednesday, and I have a consultation next week to discuss last cycle. I will get the rest of my protocol at that point as well.

Re: June 2018 FET

  • I'm scheduled to transfer June 21st as long as hysteroscopy next week goes well. Going to be on a TON of meds since this is FET #7!

  • @MSU_Girl1202 is that where they go in through the belly button area or is it like a hystrocelpinogram?  I’m sure I spelled that all wrong.  If you don’t mind me asking, what are they checking for?  Fx it goes well and you are able to transfer.

@beachbunnyxo123 I do remember your name from the January group!  Glad to see a familiar name!  I have 2 embryos left and we did not do pgs testing.  In our genetic testing (blood work) nothing came up that we were a carrier for so we figured it wasn’t something we really needed.  We figured we’d take our chances since we couldn’t afford the genetic testing really either.

Let me me know how your day 6 report is.  I’m glad you responded well this round.  My last 2 embryos are both day 6.  Good luck with your biopsy also.  Every time I hear that word I feel nervous.  I had to have a cervical biopsy once and I remember it being very painful for me anyway.  Hopefully it isn’t painful for you.

My re said my transfer will be around June 12th.  My birthday is on the 11th and I couldn’t think of a better gift!
  • @laurengon82 A hysteroscopy is when they look inside your uterus with a camera (sometimes with anesthesia, mine is not) to look for reasons why embryos aren't implanting. My last cycle had to be cancelled because my lining couldn't make it past 4mm so my RE thinks I may have adhesions in there from previous losses that's interfering with things working.also if I have polyps or fibroids or anything like that, they can get rid of them too, as well as do an endometrial scratch.

  • @MSU_Girl1202 Ok I’m pretty sure I had that procedure done before to have a polyp removed.  I was put under.  I don’t have a high tolerance for pain.  I hope everything goes well for your procedure and they figure out what the problem is.
  • @laurengon82 Thank you! I'm honestly more scared of taking the cytotec tomorrow night than I am of the hysteroscopy (not sure if I should be or not)...

@MSU_Girl1202 Good luck on your hysteroscopy tomorrow! I've only ever taken extra strength tylenol before and was never painful for me. Just the speculum was annoying as usual, but I didn't have anything removed / scratch or anything of that sort. If you don't you have a low tolerance of pain...def take it!! :)

@beachbunnyxo123 That's awesome!! FX you have a lot of little come back from testing <3

  • I feel silly for asking, but what is cytotec?  I’ve never heard of it?  @MSU_Girl1202 hope it goes well.

@beachbunnyxo123 yay for your 5 embabies!  That is great!  When will you get results from testing?

I'm scheduled to start my first FET in June as well. We are doing a "cold start" and just need to wait for AF.
    History in Spoiler
    Me: 34 DH: 31
Dx: PCOS with history of endometrial cancer (under control with hormone therapy)
RE advised IVF as fastest way to get pregnant before hysterectomy
IVF #1, Jan 2018: Tons of follies, only 2 eggs, zero blasts :(
    IVF #2, April 2018: 22 eggs-> 16 mature -> 9 fertilized -> 3 5-day blasts -> 2 PGS normal
    FET#1 June 2018

  • @laurengon82 it should be about 10 days!

    @moly416 welcome!
  • @moly416 welcome!  Will you have to be on any meds with a cold start?

@beachbunnyxo123 Fx you get good results!!

Hi all, I’m new here and still trying to work out these forums. We are doing a frozen embryo transfer in June, this will be our 4th‭ transfer. Have had a lot more downs than ups but just trying to keep positive.
  • moly416moly416 member
@laurengon82 I think we will just wait for AF, then measure estrogen and progesterone levels. From what I understand it just means I'm not getting BCP to suppress anything. Based on the hormone levels, they'll figure out the dose of PIO and estrogen to give me.

  • @moly416 that sounds like a good plan.  I have to be on bcp because my clinic only does IVF one week out of the month.

@em_7 welcome.  I’m sorry you have had so many lows.  I definitely get it.  I hope we can provide you with some support.
  • @em_7 to be honest, other than following the protocol, I don’t really do anything else to prepare for transfer.  Right now my life is super hectic and I try to just make sure I don’t forget my prenatals.  Once it’s time to start estrogen and progesterone, I get really tired.  My husband is usually good about picking up more of our household duties so that I can get some extra rest.  I know a lot of women do other supplements and acupuncture.  Hopefully others can tell you what they do to prepare.
  • Hi ladies,
So, I had my hysteroscopy 2 days ago. Haven't been online because I've been pretty upset with the results. The doctor found a ton of scar tissue on the roof of my uterus (Asherman's syndrome) likely from my previous miscarriages and ohss and D&C. He said that was probably the reason my previous ivf cycles this year had failed and there's about a 20% chance another one would work. So, he said it might be worth it to try once more time (the FET we have planned for June) and that with the combination of him cutting all the scar tissue he could out plus throwing every med possible at it that it may work, but if it doesn't work in June, I'd have to consider a gestational carrier as my only option. So, pretty upset about it. Almost died from severe OHSS making these embryos only to find out my uterus is broken and I likely won't be able to carry them.

@em_7 Leading up to transfer, I do a bunch of what's probably considered 'voodoo medicine' aka stuff that hasn't been proven but I believe anyway. I take Vitamin D, B12, L-arginine, baby aspirin and CoQ10, and drink a ton of pomegranite juice. Not sure if any of it really does anything, but I like to believe it does.

@MSU_Girl1202 I’m so sorry to hear, I can only imagine the roller coaster of emotions you are going through. 20% chance is still something, and your FET in June could possibly be your miracle baby. I know it’s so hard, try and stay positive. My fingers are crossed for you!! And thanks for the tips :)

@MSU_Girl1202 I’m very sorry to hear your procedure didn’t go better.  20% doesn’t seem like a great number, but it is something.  My re gave me a 30% chance each cycle with nothing really that we know of to be a complication.  FX and I’ll be praying that you get your miracle baby!  Hopefully everything you are doing this month will do the trick.
  • @MSU_Girl1202 So very sorry about everything you're going thru! Silver lining...normal women only have a 20% chance of pregnancy every month, so I say it's a good shot! :) I hope you guys can come up with a good plan for your June cycle and it goes well! <3

Hello everyone. My second FET is tentatively schedule for end of May/June, so i'll be joining you guys here.

@em_7 This time around, I'm going to try all the old wives tales. I'm planning to try an anti-inflammatory diet. So no carbs or dairy. My first FET cycle, I felt like I had a lot of inflammation because my eczema flared up.

No caffeine either. And I'm trying to incorporate more fruits, the pomegranate juice and Brazil nuts. Why not right?

@linxyz I went to a naturopath not long ago and she said to try a dairy free diet. So I’m with you there! Have stopped coffee and alcohol. And bought a fertility tea that is meant to help balance your hormones. Anything is worth a shot! Fingers crossed!!
  • I'm beginning my FET this month . Tentative transfer date is June 11 .Started Lupron a few days ago.  We only have one frozen embryo from my 2012 fresh cycle so I am praying it works!
  • @MSU_Girl1202 I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m really hoping that with the help of the surgery that you have success with this FET! How many frozen embryos do you have left and how many will they transfer this time?

AFM just got our PGS results back and we have 3 normal embryos. I am so excited since last time we only had one. I am going on BCPs tomorrow to do an endometrial scratch/biopsy and then will start meds for my mid June FET
  • Lurking as I’m hoping to join you ladies at some point!

@beachbunnyxo123 congrats on your 3! It’s nice to recognize someone from an earlier board and see that you’ve graduated to FET!
  • had my first retrieval today. my progestorone levels are too high, so RE recommends a FET instead of fresh transfer. We haven't set a date yet, but sounds like it will be June or july. I got 9 eggs, and tomorrow will know how many fertilize.

i'm not too sore from retrieval, just feel "weird" and gassy. Hoping i can golf tomorrow. gl to everyone!
  • @wgibtu10 Welcome!  I felt soo gassy too the day of my retrieval!  Hope you get a good fert report.
  • @wgibtu10 FX for a great fertilization report!! Sounds like you maybe in my transfer group / time coming up! Hopefully your AF comes soon, so you can start getting things going :)

  • Hello ladies,
Newbie here hoping to join! A little about me... did my retrieval fresh cycle in July of last year and got pregnant. Everything was going great until I went in for anatomy scan at 19 wks and was told I was already 5cm dialated and needed to go deliver baby girl.  I was told I was the 2% who had incompetent cervix. We lost baby girl last November.  Tried my first frozen cycle last month and had a CP. So here I am now! 2nd frozen cycle set for June 18th. Fingers crossed we all get our happy endings soon.  This journey is not for the weak!!
  • @lysslyss21 Welcome!  I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby girl.  Your right this journey is definitely not for the weak.  FX you get a bfp and that doctors get you on the right meds and monitor you closely so you can carry to your due date.
  • Thank you @laurengon82. Once I get to 14 wks ill need to get a cerclage placed which should help me go full term.  The things we go through that other women have clue about!
Also you are my birthday twin! Yay June 11!
  • Hi everyone!

Looks like I'm joining in! I'm just waiting for my period to arrive and it's looking like I'll be transfering in late June or early July.

I just finished a round of IVF. We did a fresh transfer of 2 day 3 embryos, which ended in a CP. I opted to go right into a FET this month, assuming all looks good on my sonohystogram next week. We got three blasts frozen from that cycle.

I'll be doing a medicated FET with Suprefact nasal spray, oral Estrace, and progesterone suppositories. Supplement-wise I do a prenatal, vitamin D, vitamin E, omega-3, CoQ10, baby aspirin, and a probiotic.

Looking forward to being in this wild ride with all of you!!
  • @megmac2010 Sounds like your FET will be very close to mine! :)
