Hi girls!
How are you feeling this week? Many of us are nearing the end of the first trimester. What a relief! I feel like these weeks have been the longest.

When is your next appointment? What are you looking forward to (or not) about the appointment?

I'm really hoping to get a sneak peak at genders at my appointment on the 18th... Hopefully then we can settle on some names! We may have a knock down drag out in the process! Ha! I also hope to know if the babies are sharing a placenta or if they are completely separate.

I’m still so far from 2nd tri (11w tomorrow).

My next appointment is the 22nd. I’m just looking forward to some kind of reassurance that the babies are okay and healthy. Not that I think anything is wrong but I like the confirmation.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, I'm really lucky that my symptoms haven't been too bad...but I'd like the near constant nausea to go away. Although, I do take that as a sign that they're growing and all is well in my pregnancy.

I don't have another appointment until 5/31. At my last appointment (5/1) everything looked good! My doc did an ultrasound and we heard both babies' strong heartbeats. We had just had an US with the tech the week before and they showed good growth and strong heartbeats. I'm a little anxious that I have to wait so long until my next appointment (I've heard a few too many bad stories recently), but all has been well and the next appointment will likely start the road down more regular check ups and a consult with Maternal Fetal, so I'm trying to just enjoy a few less interruptions in my work week. I am looking forward to seeing their growth. We already know their mo/di, so with every appointment I'm just looking to see equal growth in each baby.

I had to do my first glucose test this week. I failed the 1 hour and had to do the 3 hour. Thankfully I passed that one, but ugh I get so sick by the end of the test. My blood sugar was really low.

last weekend i was feeling great and was so optimistic that i was over the first trimester misery! and then monday came and the ms came back with a vengeance. since then, i’ve been struggling to stomach anything.

i just got back from my first mfm appointment. the babies are doing great, measuring right on track (12w), 168bpm heart rates, cooperated enough to get all necessary shots for the nt screening. however, the doctor confirmed that they are sharing a placenta, so that means a mfm appointment every other week for me in addition to ob appointments. they are in separate sacs, though, so that’s one less worry. next appointment is at the ob’s office this tuesday.

i think that since the babies were looking well this morning, we’ll tell people who already know that they can start spreading the word. eeeek!

Hi Everyone!
I’m currently 12w2d. I have my first perinatologist appt on Wednesday and I’m excited! I’m still searching for an Ob/gyn who will allow me to deliver naturally so long as the babies are fine (so far the OBs I’ve met will only do a scheduled US before 37wks). The MS is different every day. Some days I think it’s gone but then it comes back with a vengeance.
I still get tired quickly when I’m up and about but I’m not needing to sleep so long during the day so that’s a plus!

Even though we found out at 6 weeks that we are having twins we are still in shock lol.

@linz36 Do you mean scheduled CS at 37 weeks? If so, that’s crazy! My OB is encouraging that I go for a second VBAC with my twins!

@KellyT22 That's definitely not the case with all doctors. My doctors insisted that I have a c-section from the get-go with my twins. They never gave me a choice. I had a scheduled C/S at 38 weeks, 4 days and I'm sure they would have liked me to have done it sooner. I would have loved to have tried for a vaginal delivery or at least been allowed to go into labor on my own, but I wasn't given that option.

@KellyT22 yes....the docs I’ve seen so far will only do a c-section and want me to schedule it at 37 weeks. So I’m hunting for a doctor who will let me labor so long as it’s safe. I live in Florida and our c-section rate is crazy high.

@MojieJo @linz36 Wow I’m so sorry your OBs aren’t more progressive. There are obviously times when CS’s are the only option with twins, but I’m surprised there isn’t more support for vaginal births.

I’m shocked at these doctors who will only perform CS for twins!!! What the crap?! I’m going to check again with my doctor to make sure we will move forward with a vaginal birth as long as the twins are fine! She didn’t say otherwise in my last appointments, but now I’m nervous.

just got back from 12w ob appointment. doc said that i can try a vaginal birth if both babies are head down, otherwise a c-section. induction no later than 37 weeks if all is well.
