    Cycle/Month? 16/8, maybe?

    WTO/TWW?  Tww

Ages of other child(ren)?  DD is 7 DS is 5

Any thoughts about this cycle?  It was a long shot.  Pretty sure I am waiting for AF.

    Any questions?  None

Rant/Rave/Brag:  DD wore a dress yesterday m . She has only worn plain shirts for the last year, and before that only wore boy super hero tshirts.  DS is still trying new foods.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.  We have Ds' IEP meeting for school placement coming up.  They are struggling to qualify him for special needs services, which is scary.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Our timing was good. (-2, 0, 1)
    Symptoms in spoiler

I've had cramping and tender boobs, so I'm hopeful.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: I'm knee deep into prepping for DS's birthday party this weekend. Lots of cleaning to do at my house! I feel a bit rushed to get everything done because we re out of town all weekend.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to. I feel like I'm in a constant state of correcting/redirecting. i'm always saying no or don't do that or come back here or get down from there. I think this stage is just par for the course of a 2 year old, but it's exhausting.

@holly321  I don't have any personal experience, so I can't give useful advice, but I just want to encourage you that being your son's advocate is the best thing you can do for him. I'm sorry it's scary. I hope everything works out well.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Our challenge at the moment is getting DD to eat healthy foods, particularly veggies and protein! We’ve been doing better but we still have days it’s a real struggle! She is super picky about the way foods look.

@saltedcaramel518, I have a 2yr DD and this has definitely been trying! My best advice is try to say yes and give positive encouragement just as much if not more than you correct/redirect. The two’s have been crazy fun but also crazy challenging! Hang in there, you’re doing great!

Any thoughts about this cycle? I always have long cycles, but I didn't O until cd 33 which is about 10 days later than normal.

Any questions? For those tfas or more, did your cycle symptoms change after childbirth? I used to always get sore boobs and lower back pain a few days before AF, but now I just get way less intense lower back pain and that's it.

Rant/Rave/Brag: We're moving in a month! So excited to be closer to family.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? DS won't take the bottle from the newish nanny. She only comes 3 x week but she's been coming about a month now. It's difficult because he literally goes 9 hours without drinking milk.

happylife7 assuming she likes sweets, maybe try mixing the veggies with fruit?

holly321 I'm happy to give advice if you'd like. I'm a teacher and I'm pretty well versed with parental rights if you feel like he should be getting services.

  • @chocolatelemons, thanks for the offer.  I don't know what I think he needs.  His teacher is concerned, because academically, he is advanced in most areas, but she is afraid if left in general is, with little to know pull outs, he is going to fall behind.  He amazes me with what he knows and understands, but his behavior, and lack of desire to make any friends are more my concern.
As for symptoms after child birth, they definitely changed.  I for a while was not getting any breast pain, cramps felt different (but I think that had more to do with nerve issues from my csection) . For your DS not taking the bottle for the nanny, can you try a cup?

@happylife7 when my kids fought veggies, I just didn't push.  I feel like the more I push, the more they refuse.  They come around again eventually.

    Cycle/Month? Hello #5 (CD1)

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child? 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not really

Rant/Rave/Brag: Had to deal with a massive basketball brawl between 7 1st grade boys after lunch recess today because the duty staff were not paying attention like they should have been. I’m ready for summer break!

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.

Potty training- specifically poop. She has Pee 100% down but freaks out when it’s time to poop and will even say hurt hurt. Then she will not sit long enough most times to get the poop out. Then when she stands up it will fall on the floor and she gets supper upset with herself and start crying.

@saltedcaramel518 What has worked for me with DD and unwanted behaviors is trying to find a time that the specific behavior is actually useful or acceptable and redirecting her to do it only then. For example she started spitting recently so now I always tell her “Spitting is for brushing our teeth.” After I’ve said it a few days in a row she knows it well enough that I can ask her “what is spitting for?” Then she will respond “teef”. (Also it’s really exciting for her to get to spit when she brushes now.) We do the same with biting. Biting is for apples. Boogers are for tissues. It really seems to help fix the behavior because she has to stop and think about the behavior instead of just tuning out my no or stop.

    Cycle/Month? 3/3

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 7 and 4

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m feeling like it’s not my month.  Last month’s luteal phase was 7 days so just not feeling optimistic.

    Any questions? Not yet

Rant/Rave/Brag: kind of having a blah day.  Not really sure why.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.

Entitled kids.  My kids definitely have more “stuff” than myself or DH ever had.  We try to emphasize time and experiences over things but it’s crazy what kids pick up on.  I have heard both of them say things that could be interpreted as bragging about material things and also have seen them be ungrateful for gifts.  We talk about these situations after and role play how we could handle them better. I try to point out things to be grateful for and we do community service together.  I’m at a loss as to how to curb it but then again I sometimes doubt myself and wonder if it’s normal kid stuff and I’m just sensitive to it because I was poor growing up.

  • @saltedcaramel518, I will echo @JLaVO888 by saying that I have found telling them what they CAN do is more effective than what they can’t do.  It was a really hard switch for me because it’s way opposite of how I was parented and different than how I have seen other people parent in general.  For example, “let’s climb on the playground, not on the couch”, “biting with our teeth is for our food”, etc.

@JLaVO888 is it possible she is constipated?  Both my boys struggled with that and both had a stint where they did daily miralax.  They are both done with that now, but they struggled with pooping in the potty till they were done with being constipated.  My youngest was so bad that from 1.5 till 3 he had to do several miralax “cleanouts” from his GI specialist where we essentially cleaned his whole bowels out and started fresh.  Sounds terrible, but they told us that their brain gets so scared of pooping that their intestines “forget” how to do peristalsis and you have to retrain it.  Not sure how bad or how long you’ve been trying, but maybe talk to your pedi about the possibility if you think it might be the case.
  • @quidditchcapn1120 That could be a possibility and I was wondering so when she was saying it hurts. I feel like when she has her underwear on she holds her poop in on purpose because she always used to be very regular and poop about two times every A.M. now she goes all day without going until she can’t hold it any more in the evening. The other day the babysitter let her have a diaper because she was so upset about wearing her underwear and she pooped 5 times in one day in the diapers! In the begging with the pee she would hold it too. Now that she is comfortable with peeing, she goes every single time all day long on her own without any prompting. I’m just stuck on the poop hurdle. And I’m torn on weather it’s a bad idea to give into her wanting her diaper when she keeps asking over and over for it to poop. I don’t want to regress but I also don’t want her to mess up her bowls by holding it for so long.
  • @happylife7 @JLaVO888 @quidditchcapn1120 Thank you for the advice! I will definitely up the positivity. It will at least help my attitude even if it does nothing for him.  ;)

    Cycle/Month? 7/7

    WTO/TWW?  TWW - 6 DPO

Ages of other child(ren)?  Almost 17 months

Any thoughts about this cycle?  I was feeling pretty hopeful and optimistic, but now I'm having a really hard TTC day and feeling pretty defeated.  Hoping I can resume hopeful feelings tomorrow.

    Any questions?  Not right now

Rant/Rave/Brag: My rant and rave is that I am going to Chicago for a bachelorette party this weekend.  Rave is that it will distract me during 9-11 DPO... rant is that it is jam-packed and I'm going to be exhausted.  I'm too old for these now, ha.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.

I'm right there with you @happylife7 - My LO does not want to eat veggies at all.  I try not to stress about it and just figure I'll feed him pureed veggies and pouches until he's 17.

@chocolatelemons Yes!  I'm so glad you brought this up.  My LP symptoms have definitely changed - I used to always get sore breasts pretty much right after O.  I have not had that at all yet and now I have been getting acid reflux in the middle of my LP every cycle.  I want my old symptoms back!

  • Sorry in advance for the novel. I have a lot of feelings about this cycle.

What number are you trying for? 2

    Cycle/Month? 2/2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 1.5 yrs

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm not feeling optimistic. I'm only on CD 6, but I usually O predictably on CD17, 18, or 19 and that is the weekend I'll be going to a bachelorette party for two nights. I won't be sleeping at home on CD 16 and 17. We're going to squeeze in a HIO during nap time on CD 16 before I leave, but we won't be able to HIO again until the night of CD 18, after everyone is in bed because MIL is also staying with us for CD 16 - 20. And I won't be temping in the hotel while I'm at the bachelorette party because I don't really care to explain what I'm doing to the other girls (sharing a hotel room), so I probably won't know my exact O day this month. And that's a bummer. I'm just already feeling like this cycle is going to be a bust.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: Rant *TW other people's BFPs* - I feel like everyone in my BMB is getting KU on lucky cycle #1, and I've already missed that. I'm feeling like since that didn't happen for us, it won't happen for many cycles. In the past, I've gotten BFPs with -2, -1 timing, and I feel like we're not going to get that this month because of all the things, so I might as well give up this month. *end TW*

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.

My kid hates sleep. We've used a professional consultant and sleep trained like 3 times (after regressions and us parents restarting bad habits). But she still takes the worst naps on the planet. She dropped her second nap at 12 months, and lately her only nap of the day has been 38-60 minutes. It doesn't help that she's a mega FOMO baby (takes after me and SIL, apparently). The tips our sleep consultant has given us to lengthen naps haven't been working and it's just been a mess. I don't know what to do. I'm just thankful she STTN 6/7 nights a week.

@chocolatelemons my AF symptoms have changed for the better since my DD was born. I had an IUD that gave me cramps with AF for the first time in my life, and kept getting cramps even after getting it removed. Miraculously, having a baby cured me of the cramps! It's fantastic.

@happylife7 and @sparty18 just keep trying vegetables! Prepare them in different ways if you can. For example, my DD hates boiled asparagus, but she loves it grilled with lemon pepper and garlic, or cooked in a pan with lemon, olive oil and garlic. She also went through a phase of hating plain sweet potato, but she would eat it with butter, sugar and cinnamon. I never push things on her that she hates, and she is pretty adventurous with what she'll try these days. If she says no, I take it away without a fight. Hopefully your LOs will come around soon!

  • @general_organa Girl, I so feel you right now.  First of all the whole bachelorette party dilemma, I won't be missing FW like you, but I won't be able to temp at the best time of the TWW because of sharing a hotel room with girls.  I'm still somewhat debating it (because crazy) in hopes that I'll wake up early naturally and I can hide the thermometer under a pillow and suffocate the beeping noises, ha.  I won't stoop to that... I don't think.  I might.  Also, *TW*, yes, literally almost every person I know is getting KU on cycle #1 right now (IRL and otherwise).  I'm trucking along on cycle 7 now and just feeling extremely defeated even though I know that isn't long in the grand scheme of things.  I hope your timing works out ok in the end.   <3

  • @Sparty18 it's the worst! I honestly didn't think I had any girlfriends close enough left to get married that I'd be going to bachelorette parties again, but my college roommate came out of the woodwork lol. I'm kind of thinking that the drinking will make temps unreliable anyway, so at least there's that. I'm also a bit worried about drinking around O, because I've pretty much cut out all alcohol since DH and I started dieting. Also the cycle I got my BFP with my DD I had cut out all alcohol, so I've got it in my head that that's what my body needs. I hope this is your cycle! And hopefully the bachelorette party will take your mind off of it being 9-11 dpo! I always get crazy around those days!

  • @holly321 That's tough. Does he get pull out services now? Is he just not motivated because he isn't being challenged?

Sparty18  I agree about wanting old symptoms back. I was really concerned that I wasnt Oing because my AFs have also been a lot lighter. That's why I started temping again.

general_organa I would still temp if you can manage. My husband is a heavy sleeper, but he's never woken up when I've temped.
  • @chocolatelemons, he is in a special education class, he is transitioning to general ed.  He has met almost all of his educational iep goals, which sounds like a good thing, but, the future is scary.

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3, almost 4.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  I'm on CD 45, with FF predicting 52 day cycle. Which is way longer then pre DD. I think we hit -3 if FF was right about the timing but i'm not very hopeful about this cycle at all. I think i'm going to do OPKs next cycle, i forgot how much i hate not knowing where i'm at.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: I went into Victoria's Secret to get a Mother's Day present for my mom and DD said "this place is weird" and i seriously just wanted to bust out laughing.

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now? Rule. If you post, pick someone else to give advice to.

DD is in this bad stage of throwing things. And besides telling her we don't throw things and taking away her toys/tv shows/coloring stuff i'm at a loss. She picked up DHs kindle and threw it across our apartment earlier. She also throws cups/plates when shes done eating/drinking. I have no idea where/why it came from.

@JLaVO888 My brother had issues like this and my mom put him on fiber gummies to help make it easier to go. She took him into the doctors and that was what they recommended. My DD was similar in the beginning, and still takes a really long time to poop on the potty. We do breathing exercises (as well as you can get an almost 4 year old to do them), she will even say i need to do deep breaths when she wants us to run through them with her and try to keep her relaxed/laughing.

  • I’m so glad to read all of the comments about symptoms changing. My body is so different as well and I don’t know if it’s from the IUD I had or giving birth or maybe both. I get very, very nauseous around O. Heartburn in LP. Had 5 days of pretty intense breast pain in LP this last cycle which really got my hopes up. And the most annoying change is my CM is all dried up pretty much always. That was the biggest thing I relied on when TTC for number one.
  • I have a lot on my plate this week. I'm sorry. I am hoping to be able to stop by later to respond to people.

What number are you trying for? 2

Cycle/Month? Waiting until DD is 2 before we start TFAS...

WTO/TWW? WTO...I'm already on CD18...so I have a feeling I'm heading to another 70-day cycle. If I get to CD 65, I may have to call my OB...but I imagine the IUD can cause weird cycles? I don't even know...maybe I need to stop keeping track of CDs while I have the IUD...

Ages of other child(ren)? DD is 13mo.

Any thoughts about this cycle? It's like...once we decided to TFAS...time sloooooowed down...

Any questions? Anyone have an IUD before? Did you keep track of anything while you had it placed? I'm not sure if I'm being naive by tracking right now.

Rant/Rave/Brag: Only 8 school days until the end of the year and I'm kind of already done. I think I've hit a wall, so I've started putting feelers out to get a new job. 7 years of teaching...I think I'm done...

GTKY: What's your biggest parenting challenge right now?

@general_organa - I am going down the same road. My usually awesome sleeper has decided sleep is for wimps...she was up from midnight until 4am this morning...kill. me. now.

@Sparty18 - Have you considered sneaking veggies into his meals? I have a meatloaf recipe where I shred zucchini and carrots. DD scarfs it up and doesn't even notice the veggies. I also have a recipe where you use carrots as a sweetener for spaghetti sauce. I can send you the recipes, if you want, but the meatloaf is the same as a classic meatloaf recipe, you just add finely shredded carrots and zucchini (I sometimes use a cheese grater).

  • @JLaVO888 I hardly had any ewcm when we tried for #1, so I started using evening primrose oil. I didn't get either of my BFPs until after I started taking it. You only take it once daily up until O and then stop taking it for the rest of the cycle. I did see a big difference! Other women swear by guaifenesin and other mucus thinners to get more CM. I've never tried the guaifenesin, so I'm not exactly sure how you take it. But there are options!

@snarkles Dear lord, time has slowed down to a freakin snail's pace since we started TTC. Also, I had an IUD way before we started even thinking about TTC for our first, and I did keep track of everything, but didn't think about what CD I was because I didn't really know about all that back then. I just marked when I had my period and when I had spotting (which was crazy frequent when I had the IUD). I hated my IUD SO MUCH. I don't recall having particularly long cycles, though. I also still always got my period. I was never one of the lucky ones who stopped getting it!

  • @snarkles I wouldn’t pay attention to much regarding cycle length on the IUD. The way it works is by keeping the lining of your uterus too thin for an egg to implant. For that reason you don’t have enough lining to shed it for a full period every cycle. I’m not sure how it effects your temping but it’s very possible that your 70 day cycle is actually two cycles.
  • @JLaVO888 and @general_organa - That's kind of what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Also, a 70-day cycle is not unusual for me. I've had shorter and longer cycles. It's all over the place. I don't think I've ever been completely "regular."
  • @snarkles I don't think it hurts to keep tracking, but try not to dwell on your CD. Then you have all the data to share with your OB if you have concerns, though I would be more concerned about irregularity once you have the IUD removed.
