Ladies night!! My mom and her friends started it when us kid were younger and kept it up and now that we're older I tag along(: it was at our house tonight and one of the girls a couple years older then me was able to make it so it was nice to catch up and tell stories. We figured out we've known each other since I was 4 so that's 18 years! And I'm the first of the kids to be having a baby so they're all so excited! AND my pregnant self took all the left overs!! Mwahahahah
I know you all have seen me grumbling about traveling all week- but regardless of that, I am grateful for my travel partner.
My Mom frequently goes with me to conferences and trainings; while I’m stuck in a meeting room, she goes off and has grand adventures. Then we get to spend the evening together doing nothing because we are both exhausted. It is wonderful.
And even after my business trip ends tomorrow, Mom is staying with me in St Louis for a few days so we can do Mother’s Day together. So- double bonus this week.
I had a fetal echocardiogram and routine ultrasound today. It kind of sucked because it was after my night shift and took 5 freaking hours but both babies’ hearts and cord dopplers looked good, no signs of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and their growth is pretty equal. Only downside is my placenta might be closer to the cervix than they’d like, but they didn’t get a good enough image to actually diagnose it - so hopefully it will turn out to be fine.
I'm thankful DH has the weekend off. He's been working them a lot lately and it really wears on him. I'm looking forward to spending Mother's day with him relaxing and enjoying each other's company.
@sammierose464 me too! Hopefully DH doesn't work this weekend either. He's beem working a turnaround for the last month or so so he stayed late and worked weekends a lot recently.
Thankful that even though yesterday was my day off and I really just wanted to relax we accomplished a lot of things around the house. Still a lot to do but definitely made me feel better about things. I'm off Sunday for mothers day and we just going to bbq and relax.
@jemmerjams Thankfully he has the weekend off, because the midnight guy took vacation Friday-Sun so if he did have to work, he'd be working 4am-4pm. Instead he just had to do that today.
We also have SS tonight and tomorrow and we are going to make gifts for mom and his 3 grandmas (custom made shrinky dink keychains).
@sammierose464 yay! Meanwhile DH is now iffy on going in tomorrow...they let half the people have today off, so he's having to cover for them now and he is PISSED haha. Thankfully he is legally required to not work on Sunday since he worked 13 days already. (Don't ask me what law, that's just what he said. I used to work 12+ hr days 14 days straight and there was no legal implication lol)
DHs schedule is 13 on, 1 off. Maybe it has something to do with that. although he doesn't work that too often. It mostly just sucks for planning weekends because he has to take vacation days for those in case he does work.
There isn’t a fur babies thread, so I’ll put here I guess: yesterday we had to say goodbye to our kitty. He was 17. I was so anxious but I’m thankful that we have a wonderful vet who came to our house and the process was really peaceful. He was such a good big brother to our 3 year old daughter.
