As for me, I'm currently lazing in bed because I'm nauseous, but then I'm off to do my first maternity clothing shopping of this pregnancy! So excited!
And tomorrow it's a friend/kiddo play date at the zoo with our toddler and our good friends who have twin 1 year olds, then a Mother's Day dinner with my husband and DD. All in all, it's set up to be an awesome weekend! Hope my nausea gets out of here asap so I can enjoy it!
I’m feeling better and better (10w2d). This is very different than my pregnancies with my boys. I went to breakfast this morning with h and the boys and I had a great French toast (aversions to meat right now). Then took the boys to swim lessons and they were awesome. Came home and played in the sprinklers while watering the grass. Had adult time. Now h and ds2 are napping. Ds1 and I are watching blues clues. Not a bad day at all!
I’m apparently sick, which is super pleasant when you can’t take ibuprofen. Trying to make it through today. Tomorrow DH will be home more and I can hopefully sleep more.
Tomorrow I've got a ladies Mother's Day brunch with my Gramma, Mom, Aunt, Cousin, Sister & baby niece. I wish I was ready to reveal to them tomorrow, but not yet! Then a family dinner for MIL with that side. Should be a fun weekend

I just went strawberry and peach picking with my mom...we got a good haul in not a whole lot of time. The kid stayed in his stroller the whole time and was maybe slightly overheated but he’ll survive. Tonight we eat pound cake with strawberries and ice cream — an old family tradition from the first haul of the season!
I also scored a really cool German scooter-bike off Facebook Marketplace. I don’t know if my kid will know what to do with it yet, but I’m excited.

@PensiveCrayon That sounds so good. Wait...aren’t you in OP this weekend?! Did I make that up?
I just got up from a serious nap. I had to wake at 3am to catch my sunrise flight to DFW, just to order a crappy fast food breakfast on the way to KC. Paying $30 to upgrade to upgrade my seat out of Dallas was the best money spent.
DH is representing us at a friend’s BBQ, I’m working up the nerve to get out of bed.
Tomorrow we we want to go to a Food Truck Brunch in KC (at the Roasterie!), and I hope we do -It’ll be the last one we can attend before we move

@PensiveCrayon Ugh we won't get peaches here for another 2 months probably. I don't know if I can wait that long!
Today we went to a cookout with my mom and her husband, my grandparents, and my uncle/aunt and cousins. Told my grandparents and my uncle/aunt/cousins I was pregnant, so there's one more announcement off my chest! I don't know why I hate "announcing" things so much but man, I do not enjoy it. Luckily mostly all of the rest will be just emails/text messages. No social media announcement. I figure I'll get tagged in a photo somewhere along the line and everyone can just figure it out.
Tomorrow are are gardening all day. I WILL remember to put on my fancy new pregnancy-safe sunscreen tomorrow! I will.
ETA @hkom I guess there are a few perks to living in butt-nowhere AL. (Yes, I’m bitter. Last night H and I tried to find bubble tea and there’s none to be had in this city.)

@PensiveCrayon ! I hope I find bubble tea in AL. At least you can get some when you’re up here It’s one reason I love City Market (buy spices, apples, maybe some flowers. Lunch at the Indian place, and bubble tea at the tea place. Grab refrigerated pasta from the Italian market on the way out.). I think I know what I’m doing next week!

MH took someone else’s on call this weekend so they could go out of town for mother’s day, so DS and I are pretty much on our own this weekend. We went to the local children’s museum today and I’m trying to come up with an activity to burn some energy tomorrow. I am not allowed to lift him and getting in and out of the car is quite a production.
@katy0990 I hope you enjoy Mother's Day with your DS!
If this gives you chuckle - for some reason when, I first read this I thought you were saying that you weren't allowed to lift your husband and so putting him in the car was hard. I was picturing a grown man being put into a car seat. Hmmm pregnancy brain maybe.

@echo-charlietango I've never actually been to City Market! I need to go sometime. Have you ever been to Cellar Rat on 17th and Baltimore? They're a wine merchant. I seriously love going there! Great tastings, and all of the employees are super knowledgeable and great at helping find a wine we'll like!
Afm, yesterday we had my dad babysit DS for a bit while we went and saw Avengers: Infinity War. All I'll say is, holy sh*t it was awesome. Go see it (if you're into Marvel movies of course). Then we told my dad and sister I'm pregnant, so the last two big announcements are done, news is allowed to spread, though I still don't want anyone saying anything on FB yet, so we'll see how that goes (ahem MIL, DHs aunt, my aunt once I do tell her)
Today, because it's currently 5:30am on Sunday, ugh...I don't know honestly. DH needs a haircut for sure, probably need to do some laundry, oh and I need to finish sewing a pair of maternity pants I'm making. No big plans, I'd love to do brunch but I can't eat any French toast or waffles, so it would really just suck for me. Idk, maybe I'll try to convince DH to go out for dinner, but we spent a lot of money this week/weekend already between replacing our kitchen faucet, movie tickets, food at the theater, and ordering pizza last night...so probably not.
@CecilB93 I have not been to Cellar Rat, I wish I heard about it sooner City Market is wonderful! It’s open year-round, but the madness should be starting each weekend soon - the fixed shops will be open, and the interior space will have a full farmers market & flea market. Also, Infinity War -is- amazing, and we ordered pizza last night too

@echo-charlietango I haven't heard of City Market but it sounds super fun! I'll have to check it out when I'm in town. Also, there's a Whole Foods AND a Costco in Montgomery so I don't think your situation will be as desperate as mine
I wish I could see Infinity War and appreciate it, but I've seen maybe 2 Marvel movies? H and I just finished our epic X-Men watch-through and I just don't have it in me to commit to another bajillion superhero movies. I do really want to see Black Panther though.
Today I've gone down a rabbit hole and am currently lusting after a new diaper bag on Etsy (same company that made my camera bag, so I know they're good quality). I know I already have a kid but...I deserve a new diaper bag, right? I just haven't been happy with what I've been using. This one seems like it's bigger, which will be good for two kids.

@PensiveCrayon definitely deserve a new one!! I know the one we used with DS won't work for 2 kids. We've stopped using it honestly, and just pack some diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes in DSs backpack and make him carry it lol. I plan to get a backpack style bag this time around! I feel like all of them I see though are HUGE! And I just don't think we need that much space.
@CecilB93This is the one I just ordered. (Yes...I ordered it, heh.) I like that it doesn't scream DIAPER BAG! which was a huge consideration with my first one as well, but it does have more storage than the first. This is important to me, because I want to be able to carry my own crap around in it, you know? Also, the first one didn't have side storage pockets, which, WTF. That's where I keep my keys and cell phone for easy access.
The kid-sized backpack thing sounds like a great hack. My son just needs to start walking first. Then he's totally toting his own stuff. (In other news, his PT thinks he could be walking in two weeks! Go Bub go!)

Meanwhile, today was awesome! We had food truck brunch at The Roastarie, then on to Barnes and Noble for baby books, then a quick froyo stop on the way home. Perfect! I had to restrict myself from buying LO a stuffed hippogriff at B&N - too early. DH & I had great talks today about how we want to raise kiddo - it was all really good

Spent much of the weekend at various soccer fields. Four games yesterday, one today. Today's game was a U19 game with the winner going to Nationals. Game winning goal with less than a minute remaining, fun stuff.

We saw Infinity War and I didn't hate it. I've seen enough Marvel movies now to kind of know who is who. My husband likes them so I don't mind going, especially now that we have Moviepass.
This weekend was pretty low key for me. I'm leaving for Dublin tonight with two friends for the week, so I probably will not be on here much. Hope everyone has a great week!
First weekend in a while where we haven't had to leave the house or entertain visitors, so I'm soaking up the relaxation. I did take a luxurious, optional trip to the grocery store sans child, which was pretty special (seriously, FTMs... soak that shit up now, you'll miss it ). And husband's got a hockey game at an hour that is past Nugget's bedtime (so we won't be attending) but also early enough that I'll be awake to enjoy my time alone. Happy mother's day to me!
@kadeephd Dublin Ireland? If so 1) super jealous, 2) O’Brien’s Sandwich Cafe was so good I ate there twice in one week, 3) Visit the library at Trinity College - not seeing it was my top regret, don’t be like me!

@kadeephd Oh my gosh, have an amazing time! I love Dublin! And definitely seconding @echo-charlietango - do not miss the library at Trinity College! It is absolutely beautiful! Have a blast and safe travels!
@kadeephd yes yes trinity college library, best thing in Dublin! Have fun!
Friday night we went to a concert in the park for a bluegrass(ish) band we like. Then Friday to the in-laws for an extended family reunion. It was fun but the whole "why aren't you drinking" song and dance was less so. Not to mention mh got blasted haha, so it was an adventure. Today we went to brunch with fil, grandpa-in law, and aunt in law (mil was visiting sil) and came home and I just woke up from a 2 hour nap. We have no food in the house so mh is making "double bean and rice" burritos. I'm not sure how this is gonna turn out, but they smell ok so far.
We had lunch at O'Brien's on day 1! So good and so reasonably priced. We tried to go to the library at Trinity College but there was quite a wait. I'm a former librarian so I did want to see it. Maybe we will try again Friday before we leave. We are doing day trips today and tomorrow so won't have time. Thanks for the tips!
@kadeephd When MH and I went to Trinity College, we ended up talking to a security guard on a smoke break right by the back entrance of the library. We asked him some questions about whether it was worth the cost/wait. After a bit of conversation he pulled out his wallet and gave us two free passes into the library/Book of Kells! Moral of the story- try to find a Trinity College security guard and talk him up- could save you the wait/$$
@kadeephd EEEEEEE! I'm happy to hear that you arrived safely and are already having fun AND keeping us in the loop (for now at least)
