What did you do this week to stay fit? I actually made it to the gym 6 out of the last 7 days! Plus it was nice out most of the week so we took the dogs for a couple of walks. It feels good to be back at it.
Did you add anything new to your workout routine? Just added in the evening walks since it’s finally getting nice out!
Any good, healthy recipes to share this week? My favorite lunch lately has been baked potatoes with steamed broccoli and light velveeta cheese sauce...yum!
I've worked out twice this week, and feel almost back to like 90% of my pre pregnancy strength/endurance. Although I felt like I had to pee 3 minutes into a 20 min workout, so that's fun.
Nothing new added, or no exciting healthy dishes to share. Unless you count that I'm adding more healthy fats and veggies to my diet, after carboloading the first trimester. My body feels so much better eating the way I used to! Now to just determine if my acne is related to an uptick in dairy consumption, excess carbs/processed food/pizza, or if it's just crappy pregnancy hormones...
Did my 10k last Sunday, and made it to OTF 3x this week. Nothing new Hoping to get in a short run this wknd but not sure that will happen Going to make this tomorrow for my in laws with dinner.
What did you do this week to stay fit? I live a mile from my gym so I've been running to and from the gym 3 days a week. I was able to shave 20 seconds off of my miles on the last run! (probably because I had to pee!)
Did you add anything new to your workout routine? Running has just been added because it's warmer out and the sun is up earlier. I'm a fair weather runner, not out if it's below 50 degrees!
Any good, healthy recipes to share this week? I've just been obsessed with cold salads! Cucumber, tomatoes, raw sweet corn and swiss chunks or fresh mozz with oil and vinegar. I usually use any fresh vegetable i have in the fridge and serve it with a side of protein. It's cheap, easy and a nice lunch for the next day!
I read a lot about not working out on your back in the second trimester, but i have the tiniest bump (16wks) and still sleep on my back without issue. When have you adjusted your regimens?
@babyptobe I stopped exercises on my back (like bench press) at 12 weeks, that seems to be a standard recommendation if you Google it. I was getting dizzy getting up from a bench around 11-12 weeks anyway. I'm 17 weeks now, and the past week or so I've woken up on my back with numb arms, so to me that's confirmation I should stay off my back.
That being said...I get massages and I'm on my back for like 15-20 minutes at the end. So far I haven't felt dizzy or numb, but I'll stop that once I feel uncomfortable. I think physical exertion on your back would get you dizzier more than just laying down on your back.
@babyptobe I stopped around 12 weeks also. I’ve been modifying by using an exercise ball. I do sit-ups and bench press (with dumbells) type exercises on the ball so I’m not flat on my back.
As far as on your back exercises go, I was told that as long as they feel okay, it was okay to keep doing them. 19 weeks and I’m still doing Pilates on my back (and sleeping that way half the time, too!)
@babyptobe that salad sounds delicious! Adding that to my lunch menu next week
Looong week at work for me, so just a couple workouts. Looking forward to the weekend and getting back on track!
Re: Fit Mom Friday (5/11)

Any questions? Nothing this week
