Trouble TTC

Dying inside...

Hey there. I guess I’ll introduce myself. I’m an almost 25 y/o and my husband will be 28 this year. We met 4 years ago and fell in love lol. We got married 9-9-17. 3 years ago I had a very early(like 3-4 weeks) miscarriage. Since then, I haven’t been able to get pregnant whatsoever.

In 2012 or so I had an IUD(Mirena) and took it out a year later cuz my ex and I decided we wanted to try but then we broke up. I met my now husband. I haven’t been on birth control since 2013. I do NOT have periods very often, maybe 1 every 3-6 months or so.

So my my husband and I are seeing a fertility specialist currently. He’s done all kinds of tests. He ran an HCG and found everything to be normal, has done multiple blood draws and everything has been normal except I have low progesterone, cultures have all been normal, like idk what’s going on. So he started me on Femara after they started a period and I’ve done 2 rounds so far and have not yet ovulated. They said they’re going to up my next dose. But I’m so frustrated. We saw a different specialist before this who just said I have pcos(did NO testing whatsoever) and just threw me on Femara and that was that. I still didn’t ovulate then either and this was last year. On top of that I’ve been trying to do Big Brothers Big Sisters and they keep denying me bcuz I got engaged then married then accidentally said I was trying for a kid and each time tell me I have to wait yet another year to apply again. I want a kid in my life so bad... I feel like I’m dying inside.

Re: Dying inside...

  • @srtchickk - I'm sorry you find yourself here. IF is really frustrating and painful.

If I were in your shoes, I'd keep focussing on why it is that your cycles are so long. Can you see someone else to talk to them about PCOS? Get another opinion and explore other treatments?

    Good luck to you!
  • @funkykey we did start seeing someone else. He’s the one we’re going to currently who’s done all these tests and hasn’t found anything other than low progesterone

  • @srtchickk I don't have any real advice, except to keep being your own advocate! I'm so sorry you're going through all this.

    Round 1: 50mg Clomid - 4/18

  • @srtchickk I had the same thing happen with a very unhelpful OB 2 years ago. She just slapped me with the umbrella PCOS even though I didn’t have any of the “major” stuff like cysts, hirutiam, insulin resistance. I just had acne and irregular periods.

My only advice to you is if it doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to get a second or third or fourth opinion.
