Re: High Risk Check In 4/17
Why are you considered high-risk? Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nope - had an office visit to confirm I could fly but no testing
Any questions/concerns/news? Not really - FX for an uneventful trip!
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week? I've figured out some triggers to the severe pelvis pain, which means I know how to avoid them, so pain's been doing a bit better!
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why? Either back to FL because of Disney weekends, after-dinner walks on the beach year-round, swimming pools, palm trees, and few/no painful cold snaps...or to SC because all of my friends have moved there and I miss them and it's got a temperate but 4 season climate as a nice compromise for DH.
Why are you considered high-risk? previous history of hypertension, AMA
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nope, just monitoring my BP at home.
Any questions/concerns/news? I've developed red bumps, almost like mini pimples all over the top of my belly. That's on the list to ask the doctor about next week! I'm also going to ask them for a breast exam, since I won't be having an annual this year.
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week? Officially 3rd trimester now! I've had a lot of gripes this week actually, need to work on more of the positive. Maybe going to the chiropractor and/or getting a massage will help with that - I've been fighting headaches and neckaches almost daily.
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why? We recently moved to where I always said that I would want to live! It definitely takes all those things into consideration though - close to family, good schools, close to career, etc.
Why are you considered high-risk? Type 1 diabetic
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? See the clinic every two weeks where they look at my insulin doses and discuss changes that I mainly do anyways as I've been doing this for 24 years. Nurse always brings up that I take different amounts of insulin which drives me insane because I eat different things. Frustrating because most of the ladies in there only have gestational so very different. I also got my bloodwork back and it looks like my iron is low.
Any questions/concerns/news? None
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week? Super tight and painful stretching in my belly but I think my girl is finally moving up a bit. Sitting super low since the start.
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why? Maybe Hawaii? Love where I live now too but very expensive.
Why am I high risk? Age..41
How far along are you?
27 weeks
Why are you considered high-risk?
Twins
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
I had an us that showed baby b being a little bigger than a. I really want to try for a vaginal birth, they’re both head down even but baby b cannot be bigger than a for vahinal delivery my Ob said. I’m going to ask for more info. Having GD testing today yuck. It’s more common with twins so I’m anxious. Baby a was a little behind where I’m at week wise in growth so looking forward to Ob going over my us more in depth today.
Any questions/concerns/news?
Oops above
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week?
Lots of moving in there and they’re still cooking
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why?
probably South Carolina the people are friendly and weather is nice plus beach!
Why are you considered high-risk? hypothyroid, borderline gd, gastric sleeve patient, medication maintenance
Any additional monitoring or testing this week nothing until next Wednesday
Any questions/concerns/news? my new ob told me that although she doesn't believe I have gd, I am borderline. She gave me the choice to either go to the gd class and start the gd diet with checking my levels 2-3 times a day or continue to check my levels 4 times a day and reevaluate next week. I chose the latter. I really do not want to go on a special diet for the remainder of the pregnancy.
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week? Baby girl is kicking a lot more. Fun to watch my tummy move randomly.
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why? Washington. It's beautiful, the weather is just what I love, and its always been my go-to dream state.
Why are you considered high-risk? AMA, high BP
Any additional monitoring or testing this week growth scan today—baby’s growth was perfect! I feel like I have so many appointments ahead of me, it is a little overwhelming.
Any questions/concerns/news? my GD test came back negative! Yippee! One less thing to worry about. At 32 weeks I have to start NSTs. Does anyone have experience with that?
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week? Baby is doing well and I’ve been feeling good.
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why? Washington DC, or Chicago are two of my favorite US cities. Someplace beautiful would be nice too though, the South of France, Tuscany, or Santa Barbara.

Any questions/concerns/news?
Got the paperwork with info for my c section and was happy to see I only need to arrive 2 hours prior to surgery (so 5:30 am). Still need to arrange to have someone stay at our home to take care of DD though.
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today/this week?
Despite being more active (cleaning mostly), no new contractions or major body discomfort.
GTKY: Going along with last week's question, if you could live anywhere and cost of living, career, family, etc were not a factor, where would you live and why?
If I didn't have to work, I'd choose some place tropical and laid back, like St John or an Hawaiian island. If I had to work, it would be somewhere out west with mountains but still close to major cities.
That being said--I do find NSTs relaxing. It's nice to sit back and be forced to do nothing. I even got juice yesterday, in an attempt to get teeny man moving around a bit more (I hadn't had breakfast yet--appointment was first thing in the morning, and I had to get my two bigger boys to school).

I did have early contractions with DD and it never resulted in cervix changes so at this stage, they aren't too concerned.
I feel better that there are no cervical changes so far, so I think I'm just going to push for a cervix check at every appointment from this point on.

I actually thought of you @ethnomusicwhat last night....i was having painful indigestion 9 min apart... i was getting worried but didn't get closer together and eventually stopped. Also have woken up to back cramps 2 times in 2 weeks but not time-able/cyclic. I just have this gut feeling this kid is coming early... i look and feel at 28 weeks how i did at 38 with DD.

Do they have your induction scheduled yet? I've been meaning to talk to my midwife about the possibility of scheduling something for this one, given how massive he is. My placenta is borderline low, so it looks like I'll get one more ultrasound in before he comes, which may help gauge his size.

At my last checkup they said they would set a date for induction at my 36 week checkup. Since my 6 week follow up with DD they've been talking about inducing with my 2nd to prevent a home or car birth. That was before we discovered my medical condition that makes me high risk. Everyone is on board for induction but no one has specifically talked about timing...I have a growth scan at 32 so assuming they're waiting for that to make timing decisions. From what I can tell it won't be much before 39 unless he shows growth restricted at 32 or something else moves up the timeline.
