  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
8w2d. No milestones but being 8 weeks feels great!
    2. How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good. Nausea is mostly gone except for here and there and certain aversions. I can’t cook ground meat without gagging for some reason. Still tired but don’t have to take a nap every day to get through the day, but I am getting like 10 hours of sleep a night.
    3. When is your next appointment?
    5/10
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
My husband is finally painting! I found if I just did the taping the day before it would kind of make him do it. On our way to finally being able to put this house up for sale...
GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?
I crawled back into bed with him and said, “So, I peed on a stick.” We’re not big into big announcements and I was a little shocked since I kind of thought we had bad timing as well. I was just taking the test because it was my birthday and I felt like I should. Lo and behold...

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 10 +1! Due 12/1. I am having an NT scan on friday and then getting a TAC on saturday morning
    2. How are you feeling? Battling constipation, cold like symptoms, fatigue and overall rundown. But so grateful to be carrying this little one.

    3. When is your next appointment? May 11th

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:i feel alone in this pregnancy. We’re keeping this pregnancy top secret since we had a late term loss in october. But when i told my sisters, my closest friends, they were excited. But then i felt them pull away a bit. I feel excluded.

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting? Showed him the digital and he gave me a high five lol
  • Thanks for starting this @ab_canada!

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
7 weeks (+1 day since I’m late to this)

    2. How are you feeling?

I woke up with a sore throat early Thursday morning, can’t tell if it’s allergies or what (it’s accompanied by runny/stuffy nose, sometimes I feel it in my ears since it’s all connected).  I think the tired kicked in a little more toward the end of this week.

    3. When is your next appointment?

Tuesday (5/8) - weekly scan with RE - with any luck, I’ll just have two more before “graduating” to my OB (though I won’t see him till the end of the month).

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:

My DH took the dog camping this weekend, but he surprised me last night by coming home early (he had a 1:30pm flight out for a business trip today, so I was hardly going to see him).  The dog is very, very mellow today so he did a good job tiring her out :p

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?

I tested 7dp5dt (12DPO equivalent) - so I just showed him our very, very faint “maybe.”  He wished it was darker.  After having been through *TW* losses we’re cautious - but optimistic!

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
6 weeks (chocolate chip). Still haven’t been to a doctor and don’t go for 2 more weeks. Our parents know now.

    2. How are you feeling?
tired AF and I think I’m getting sick again. The same grossness has been going around my house for about a month and I’m so done. Being this tired isn’t helping.

    3. When is your next appointment?
    May 21 is my first.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
    Haha see #2

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?
I bought my son the “super big brother” shirt from Carter’s and told him to go show daddy.
  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

    6w1d No milestones yet

    2. How are you feeling?

I feel great! I don't really have any symptoms which is a bit worrisome, but I didn't have many with my first pregnancy either. I am tired though, very tired! And irritable, but I feel like I'm always irritable. lol

    3. When is your next appointment?

May 22. Sonogram then I meet with the midwife.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:

My poor DS has been sick ALL weekend. We had a fun weekend planned - I was going to take him out to breakfast then to the free event at Home Depot then we were supposed to be going to a car meet/picnic. He's finally stopped throwing up but as of this morning he is still running a fever. :/

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?

I waited a couple days to make sure the tests got darker, even though they started really dark (tested at 13DPO) *TW loss mentioned* because I had a CP in December and I didn't want to raise his hopes again. *end EW* I bought DS a cheap shirt from Wal Mart that says "Best Bro" and put him in that to tell DH. At first he didn't even notice *eye roll* so I had to tell him to read the shirt.

@whaat I just ordered that shirt yesterday for my DS and will likely use to when we tell my mom!

  • I love the shirts as a way of telling your DH! It's funny when they don't notice at first. We put a pacifier around the dog's collar as a way of telling my family, but they 1) didn't notice right away, even though they greet the dog before they even look at us and 2) my sister just thought there was something wrong with the dog that she needed a pacifier (I blame YouTube lol)

  • @ab_canada LOL! When we told our parents with DS is was Thanksgiving and I was wearing a shirt (can't remember what it says). My mom didn't notice but we had a back up plan, we gave both sets of parents a pacified in the box and the pacifier had a tag that says, "Please keep this at your house for me when I come to visit. Love your grandchild."

  • @ab_canada Thanks for starting this! Definitely didn't even think about it on Saturday!

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
10 weeks (on Saturday). @ab_canada +1 to the double digits!!!

    2. How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good. But the exhaustion (and the gas) are for REAL! Haha!

    3. When is your next appointment?
I have another appointment this Thursday for a physical exam, blood work, and pap smear.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
Totally not pregnancy related, but we had a big wind storm on Friday and it destroyed our canopy in the back yard! I was actually crying (thanks, pregnancy hormones) b/c we had just put it up on Wednesday! Total bummer!

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?
We did fertility treatments (FET), so DH knew exactly when I was going in for my first HCG test! He was at work and he told me I better text him as soon as I heard back from the Dr., so I did! It was pretty uneventful, but we were still super excited!!

  • Ugh!  Saturdays are hard  :(

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
7 weeks (+2 days now). Next Wednesday, the 16th is my big milestone.

    2. How are you feeling?  Still nauseous, and tired.  And SO MOTHER LOVING HUNGRY.

    3. When is your next appointment?  The 16th.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:  We get to bring home DD's dance recital costume tonight!  I can't wait to see her in it  <3

GTKY: How did you tell your spouse you were expecting?  We go to breakfast every Saturday with DH's best friend. And after breakfast one morning the guys wanted to go to Acadamy.  I needed to go to Wal-Mart for DD, so I told the guys we'd meet them later.  At the store I grabbed a test, then ran home to POAS.  It came out positive!.  When we got to the guys DH asked if he could buy a new pop-up tent for the summer.  I told him sure, but that after that we would have to start saving our money for baby stuff.

@whaat, @AdorkablePixie I'll be 12 weeks for DD's dance recital, and we're thinking about a shirt announcement for her after party...

  • @mag1cbeli3ver  Were you actually disciplined enough not to test before beta?  You’d think I would have learned (how very annoying squinters can be) from the first transfer, but both times I caved and tested two days before beta.

Actually, after my first transfer (after getting the +hpt), I did put a cheesy “I’m going to be a big sister” bandana on the dog, but it took DH quite a while to notice what it said.

  • @artemis618 Disciplined is not the word I would use! More like "terrified out of my mind!" I've taken sooooo many HPTs that have been negative, it's become such an awful experience! I couldn't stand peeing on another stick just to sit there and watch nothing happen! So yeah, I waited for the phone call with the beta! It was awful to wait, but the nurse was so happy to share the amazing news, so that more than made up for it!

Plus, *TW*, my previous pregnancy was ectopic, so I wanted to wait for actual numbers. Our beta was really low (and then all over the place) with it, so I felt like even if the HPT was positive, I wouldn't believe it until we heard the numbers!
