Hello, I’m day 8 into my shots of my first (now only) IVF cycle. Around day 4 I started experiencing numbness in my hands and by day 5 my entire torso is almost like a numb feeling. It’s progressed down my legs and into both of my feet. I feel very sluggish and SO SO uncomfortable. I have 5 more days until my trigger shot. Is this normal?? My doctor doesn’t seem to be concerned but I feel terrible. When should this feeling subside? Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Honestly, I've never heard of that happening to anyone? I got numbness from the progesterone shots but that was after like 8 weeks of injecting them. Sluggishness and discomfort are part of the stim cycle side effects. But the tingling and numbness, I don't know. I only stimmed for 10 days, started tapering at day 8, hopefully it's almost over for you. Definitely keep mentioning it to your doctor.
@andreajane85 on my first FET after 7w 2d I started having numbness and burning sensation in my upper outer thighs. That was back in March 2017. Then few days later I stopped PIO ***tw*** after a confirmed MMC ***end TW*** for the next 5 months the numbness remained (but it slightly got better!) and the burning sensation did go away after few months. Then, from about August I had few more cycles so I would start injecting PIO again for few weeks at a time. So my numbness got worse again
I had my last transfer in mid March and I’ve been injecting daily since.
Few werks ago, I started feeling in one leg as if I have water. At first I thought my jeans was wet. But that wasn’t the case. It’s another nerve damage, also from PIO.
Whenever I’m in between cycles I go to acupuncture and try to treat it. It helped but for over a year now I still have the numbness.
Sometimss I’ll make fists and hit my outer thighs (almost trying to wake it up ). Also if you have foam roller you can try that. (It was too painful for me so I stopped).
Im counting the days for when I stop PIO. But I know that the sensation won’t come back in a day.
It is interesting though that you have numbness in your hands and not only legs.
